Kirsten looked up to Matthew, appalled. "Right Twix." she muttered, throwing him a candy bar.
Kirsten looked up to Matthew, appalled. "Right Twix." she muttered, throwing him a candy bar.
"God Almighty, Kirsten. You're helpless." Matthew laughed and caught the twix with his left hand, tearing it open and relishing his first bite of food since… 3 days? Two? He couldn't remember.
(Why?)
Callie walked over. “Okay, obviously Right Twix is the Right way,” Callie stated. “It has been scientifically proven. By my tastebuds.”
Cassie shrugged. she stood up and drove one of the now-sharp sticks into a tree. "Yeah, I think that these will do just fine." She looked at Callie. "Can I have the feathers please?"
Kirsten glared at Matthew playfully. "87% of the population choose the Right Twix, and I assure you, it is not a made up number." she told him grandly with a sweeping arm gesture.
Cassie rolled her eyes. "You guys are hopeless."
"I am offended by that statement." Kirsten answered, tearing open trail mix.
“Hm? Oh, yeah.” Callie gave Cassie the feathers. “Do you need all of them?”
"Probably not. You can keep one or two." She took the feathers from Callie, except for two. Then she proceeded with her task.
Pine remained indignant, mouthing left twix to Kirsten and winking playfully at Matthew. He knew very well of Matthew's crush on Kirsten, and enjoyed reminding his friend of their shared secret every time he interacted with her.
“So, what exactly are you doing?” Callie asked her.
Kirsten shook her head at the boys sadly, and started sorting through the food, humming The Bro Duet under her breath.
Cassie held up a finished arrow. "It's not perfect, but a basic weapon for survival. And my favorite weapon too."
“Wow! How didn’t I realize earlier? That’s awesome! But, wait, what would you be killing? Don’t we need permits to hunt? I’d hate to kill animals, especially if we run into some trouble with the law. There must be rules for this type of thing. Not to mention, we might be in a different country. How they do things might be different,” Callie stated, concerned. “Also, River will probably have something to say about this too. Did you see how she reacted to that bear attack? She was worried. About the bear.”
"I think they'll understand if we're going to starve to death otherwise," Pine chipped in. "Let's give it a shot, at least."
"It'll kind of be a necessity if we're going to survive longer than a few days in this place." she pointed out.
"Let's hope it won't be."
(I'll be on a few times again tonight and tmr morning but I'm gone for a week after that. You guys can act as Kirsten while I'm gone, or just drag her around)
River woke to the sound of people talking about her. She stretched, breathing in the brisk spring air, when bits and pieces of –was it Callie?– dialogue floating in and out of ear range. Hearing their words, she bristled, walking up to the group and blinking the drowsiness from her eyes. "Morning.", she grreeted as if she hadn't heard any of their earlier comments. "Is that an arrow? Perfect. We'll need to hunt if we want to survive. Anybody know how to fish?"
