"Good enough." Without waiting for a reaction, Matthew silently wrapped his arm around her and drew her near.

Kirsten stiffened under Matthew's one-armed hug, but quickly relaxed into it. She gingerly leaned her head on his shoulder.
(I swear, there are so many ships!)
(you're welcome :P)
Callie was able to calm down for the most part. She washed her tear-stained face in the stream. Her hands stung when they touched the water.
Right, I scraped them on that tree.
She decided to go back to the campsite and try to bandage her hands.
Upon reaching her destination, she saw Kirsten and Matthew sitting together. A wave of irritation washed over her seeing them embrace. Callie walked past them without a word and looked for bandages.
(Hey just so you guys know i'm still her but I forgot to read all the posts. So I'll write in a moment.)
(Cool)
Cassie took off her shes and waded into the freezing water. "Have you ever tried fishing like a bear??" She asked River. Then she quickly grabbed a slippery fish that had jumped out of the water. "My grandpa prefers this way. Something about it being funner and a way to get exercise."
Kirsten hurriedly detached herself from Matthew, blushing furiously. To reassure him it wasn't his fault, she brushed his shoulder as she walked over to Callie. "That seems impossible without claws."
(Callie or Cassie?)
(oh whoops sorry Cassie)
Cassie smirked. "I know, I thought the same thing. The trick is to grab their gills." The fish was no longer moving. "There is a point under their gills that if you put pressure on it, they die quickly without pain."
(Disclaimer: This is most likely not true!!)
Kirsten wrinkled her nose. "Huh. I don't really want to experiment that."
Cassie shrugged. "It is kind of gross. But I grew up fishing this way, so I'm used to it."
"So……" Cassie turned to River. "Where do you live?" She asked gently, trying to start up a conversation.
Kirsten looked down into the water rushing by and gingerly reached down into it. She waited until she spotted a flash of silver and immediately grabbed at it. The combined current of the water and violent thrashing of the animal messed with her balance and, agile as she was, she fell in.
Cassie laughed as her best friend fell over into the water. She walked over and offered Kirsten her hand, still laughing. "Sorry Kirsten."
Kirsten sat up in water. "Oh my. Aren't I a genius," she laughed. She took Cassie's hand and stood up, dripping wet. "Go back to your conversation, Cassie. That girl looks like she needs it," she said under her breath. She flung her hair over her shoulder and attempted to wring it out. She waddled out of the lake.
Cassie laughed, then nodded and went back to River. "So?"
River grinned, getting into the water as well. “Vancouver Island, usually. We came up here to visit my grandpa for my birthday.”
"Cool. Do spent lots of time with animals??" Cassie asked.
River snorted. “You could say that. I mean, two days here and I already have a pet bear!”
Cassie laughed. "Yeah. I live on an animal reserve slash search and rescue center, so–" She was interrupted by a bird landing on her head. She slumped her shoulders dramatically. "So this happens a lot." She said with a smile.
River smiled again, feeling ridiculously happy. “So, are Callie and Pine dating or what?@, she asked curiously.
Kirsten walked over to Matthew again, trembling slightly, and plopped down next to him. "You should go for a swim. The water's just beautiful," she mumbled, closing her eyes and leaning against a tree.
