Callie just let out a long squeal.
“Eeeeeeeeee!” Callie realized that Cassie was still sleeping and tried to whisper. “My ship is sailing! Pinesie is happening!” She cleared her throat and calmed down. “But, yeah, when you were off getting sticks for her splint, we were talking. I can’t tell what we said because doctor-patient confidentiality, but I’m pretty sure she likes you too.”

@Turzelle

“Sorry,” she said sheepishly, “I can’t help it. I ship what I see. But trust me. You two are made for each other. But don’t let anything go too far. We still have to get home.”

River glanced at them quickly, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. I wish Roanne was here…, she thought, thinking wistfully of her artistic girlfriend back at home. Miss you, luv., she thought, quiet, almost as if she was pretending to send a text to her.

(which is better for a girl, Roan or Roanne [both pronounced ROW-uhn]?)

@Turzelle

Callie sputtered. “I DID NOT mean that. I meant letting your potential relationship get ahead of surviving as a team.”

@Turzelle

“I appreciate your sense of modesty though. Gosh, I feel like a proud parent. I support this ship even more than I did before. I didn’t even know that was possible!”

"Umm… okay?" Pine looked at Callie with newfound respect. She may not be the easiest to get along with, but she accepted him and that was enough.

Kirsten' eyes were closed, but she heard the gist of Pine and Callie's conversation. Well mostly one word, actually… Pinesie. It was perfect.
She could hear River and Mr. Nikolas walking around, but she shut it out. She wanted to sleep, though she knew it wouldn't be restful.
And finally, she drifted off.

@Oakie Dokie

"Woah!! Cassie, are you okay?" Pine asked, startled by her sudden stirring. He knew he was obsessing over making sure she was okay, but it reassured him a bit. She could trust him.

@blue_topaz

River's attention flitted briefly from Mr. Nikolas to Cassie, but she sternly pulled her gaze away, silently scolding herself. This is none of your business, River, you can help each other survive, but they don't want you to butt into heir personal issues. You can't just make friends with everyone, there are rules. She nodded at the teacher, helping him to lift the piece of metal as she led the way back to her makeshift shelter, stomach growling. I need to make a new fishing rod, she thought to herself. This one only caught me one fish to last me for all of yesterday. She'd survived for a few days on minimal food, but she needed to keep herself well fed and healthy so that she could be properly equipped for the dangers out here. We're lucky it's spring…

(wait– is is spring or summer? they wouldn't be able to survive in he cold of autumn and winter, right?)
