(okay)
Kirsten looked at the notebook Cassie had handed her. She opened it to a random page: Escaping wolves or wildcats is the most straightforward. Try to appear bigger by unzipping your jacket or waving your arms around. Remain calm and speak quietly. Do NOT pick anything up or bend down. Just keep calm and back away slowly.
She flipped to another page: You need the right supplies, obviously. The minimum to have is rope and a tarp. Tie the tarp between two trees and hang it on the rope. That's the basic, yet reliable technique.
"Hey guys, look at this!" she called.
(Natasha????? Don't you mean Cassie????)
River nodded, tugging the zipper of her thick, gray blue hoodie up as far as it would go. "I was the only survivor on my plane.", she replied, keeping her voice stoically steady. "Most of it is still intact, so that's where I'm staying for now. You guys are welcome to come, but I'm warning you from now that it will be pretty cramped."
(oh lol sorry)
The teacher looked over to Kirsten, "Yes?" He exhaled, lightly exasperated with everything going on.
"Well, any shelter will definitely work temporarily." Kirsten told River, still looking down wonderingly at the book.
River cast a quick glance at the book, not wanting to pry. She nodded, continuing in a gentle voice. "I know it's going to be hard for you –it was for me–, but you need to search the bodies of your dead for any useful supplies. This is survival we're talking about here. It's life-or-death."
Kirsten looked up stonily, until she saw the pain in River's eyes. She didn't have time to wonder, just shoved the book in her pocket and stood up.
"I'll start looking. You guys can head over to the plane, I'll find you." she told everyone. She trudged into the forest, not looking forward to what she was doing. She looked around, kicking piles of leaves around in search of bodies. The first she came across was revolting. It was Ms. Tyler, the other teacher who had been travelling with them. Her left leg was facing an impossible angle, her right arm was bloody and torn, and she had an enormous gash on the back of her head. Gagging, Kirsten closed her eyes and sat down, trembling and crying.
Matthew rolled onto his side to get a better view of everyone. "We could use both planes as shelter…"
"Don't anybody get themselves cut o shrapnel," Mr. Nikolas spoke, bringing the collar of his shirt to cover his nose when he would occasionally catch the acrid whiff of dead people. God, this was so horrible..
(Cassie is still asleep. Someone will have to carry her or wake her up. Actually both.)
Kirsten breathed out and knelt closer to her teacher. She searched all pockets and her handbag, coming up with a pocketknife, and almost intact phone, two cereal bars, and a scarf. She sighed and immediately looked away, setting off to look for more.
(Pine has an iPod but no signal)
Mr. Nikolas used his shoe to upturn a large piece of the metal plane shell, "I believe this would be usable for shelter. How's everybody else?" He called, wanting to get a bit of an idea of their inventory so far.
(Did everyone forget about Cassie???)
XD Mr. Nikkie will probably get to her if nobody else does )
Where is she?)
River nodded back to the boy. "Good idea. How many people do you think yours could comfortably hold?"
(Asleep on the ground where they were originally going to set up camp.)
(i've got it)
Pine ambled sullenly back to the shelter, finding everyone gone except for Cassie, who was asleep. "Cassie? Cassie, where is everyone?"
Matthew paused and took a moment to think. "If I remember correctly, it was a 737, so maybe… 15?"
Cassie heard someone call her name. She groaned. "What????"
"Cassie, it's Pine. Do you know where everyone went?"
River looked back to see the boy asking another girl about something. "Over here!", she shouted back.
