"So? Get back in here and destroy these eggs to make pastry batter." Aspen smiled softly and placed a large bowl and a carton of eggs in front of her.

"I've got it," Aspen lied. He didn't dare mention the angry customer in fear that it would drive his friend off again. "Also, put your apron back on. I'd rather not be shut down for sanitation issues, even though they're threatening anyway because I shed…" he laughed angrily to himself and made his way back to the mess, working anxiously to clean it up.

She put her apron back on. “I’ll try again, but I’m not good at baking.” She held up an egg. It dropped on the floor and broke. “After I clean up the egg on the floor.”

Ember slowly crept out of the women's bathroom, hoping nobody would notice him. The swelling on his lip was going down a bit, but now his eyes were red and puffy. He noticed Oyoyo had returned and smiled.

Ember's face turned bright red. "N-no!" He said, a bit loud. "I was an accident, I swear, I didn't mean to… and you weren't coming off as flirtatious, I just messed up on my words and then freaked out, so… I'm sorry about that."

Oyoyo had no clue what was going on, but she was enjoying it! She was laughing so hard, her side ached. “Aspen it seems your flirting with everyone now!”, she joked.

Ember laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "S-still sorry…"

"Yah know it sweetheart," Aspen replied jokingly, secretly loving the routine. He tilted his head back and flicked his apron out dramatically, sending a cloud of flour out across the kitchen. "Combine the eggs, flour, sugar, poppy seeds, coffee beans, sun butter, margerine, milk, and bacon grease and put it in the blender of Pulse, then shape the dough and pop it in the oven on 450 for about 10 minutes."

While Oyoyo and Aspen were busy, Ember backed off slowly toward the door. It would be better for him to leave. He pushed the door open, the bell chiming as he slipped away and made his way down the sidewalk.

Ember fell against the side of the wall of the cafe, sliding down slowly and letting out a sob, putting a hand over his mouth to muffle the noise. Tears rolled down his cheeks and over his hands, and he tried his best to ignore the incoming customers giving him judgmental looks.

(Can't view it right now, I'm on school wifi and pinterest is blocked lol)
Ember felt useless. He was 19, living on the streets, and didn't even have the balls to tell his friends that he was trans. He literally did not have the balls, and that upset him even more.
