"Hey Jay! How's your arm?"

(We just switched the previous two around) "Hi, doc. How is it? It's good seeing you again." He smiled warmly, waving at the lot of them.

(Maybe Oakie Dokie's the only one asleep XD) "Oh, of course. Good to see you too, Jay," Cobalt meekly replied. He thanked Aspen again before starting to leave. Something about Aspen and Jay together made him feel… Out of place. Reluctantly, he decided the best way to stay out of their relationship, was to avoid it.

Oyoyo waved goodbye to that other wolf, who had just stopped by. She wondered why all the wolves seemed pretty awkward around each other. Oyoyo thought it almost seemed like some sort of love triangle. She dismissed the thought as soon as it popped into her head.

(Oops, didn't mean to miss this!) Jay was puzzled, but waved at the doctor nonetheless, apparently oblivious to the circumstance, shaking his hand firmly on the way out. "I need to thank ya properly, Doctor.. Let's get drinks sometime, on me!" He smiled as the guy left and turned back to Aspen, Oyoyo and the woman. "How are you Oyo? I don't think we've properly met yet."

"I'm fine.", she replied. "How are you other than your arm?" She looked down at the sling he was wearing. "And why exactly were you shot?", she asked. Suspicion started to creep into her tone.

He looked down, ashamed, "I uh, I didn't get shot there was a stray bullet, from a shootout," He started, "I wasn't shot exactly, uh.. the bullet broke a car window I was next to." He explained, "There was a gang shoot-out near the offices I work at.. Wrong place wrong time." For real, he thought. Really hadn't wanted to be a part of it, but wasn't going to out himself as a gang member.

Oyoyo was still suspicious, but she wasn't going to openly accuse Jay of being a gang member, or something like that in front of Aspen and his mom. "Well, hope you get better"

Jay glanced at Oyoyo appreciatively, glad she hadn't asked any more questions. He felt bad enough about the situation as is.

(Gonna go to bed soon. It's almost 2 am here ;) )
Oyoyo made sure Jay knew they were going to hear the truth eventually. She gave him one last suspicious look, made sure nobody was looking, and mouthed the words talk, later, and truth. She hoped Jay got the message. She decided to stop worrying and she put her hand out to let Jay shake it. "Nice meeting you.", she said, her tone kinder this time.

(It's cool, I work overnights, so my day just started, I'm going to be bored. unu)
Jay took the hand, shaking it firmly, his ears back. Her firmness let him understand that Aspen may not have been the only one on the other side of the phone that night, and he sighed inwardly at the thought of everyone hounding him about this; but he supposed he understood, nodding in response to the dragon. "Nice to meet you, Oyoyo."

Oyoyo was glad she made another friend. At least she thought she did. She wasn't quite sure if Jay thought of her as a friend yet, especially since she was very harsh on him. She wasn't afraid to be a little stern though, if it meant they would find the truth. As long as he couldn't make Aspen, or anyone else cry again.

Aspen fixed the coffee quickly and gave it to Cobalt before slipping out from behind the cash register and approaching his mother. "Momma, this is the person I was telling you about. His name's Jay."
"You're gay?" His mother asked, panicking.
"We're not- Well… Look, can we just forget about that aspect?"
"Absolutely not, mister!!" The woman shrieked, heading for the door. "I'm taking your father and we're going home."

Jay used his own sense of authority to step in front of the woman, out of habit. "Excuse me ma'am. I think you mean good friend." He reached his hand out to her for a firm handshake, his brass ring shimmered slightly. "Aspen will make a great buddy and business partner, I believe. It's nice to meet you." his eyes shifted to Aspen apologetically for a moment.

Aspen's mother remained indignant for a moment before caving and sitting in a booth. "Yes, I'm sorry."
Aspen wasn't sure how to feel. Jay had saved him from trouble but friendzoned him yet again. He eventually just decided to roll with it, though. "Yeah, Jay's married to Oyoyo." He nudged his friends discreetly. "We're all, umm, opening a neurology clinic."

"We're.. Thinking about it." Jay didn't want to take the lying that far. He bit his tongue at the retaliation, and continued what Aspen was saying, making a point to gather an arm around his shoulder. "You've got a bright son. He'll save a lot of people, if you ask my opinion. What's your name then, young lady?" he smiled.

(the plot thickens :P didn't even know you had a plot)
"I'm Sarah. It's nice to meet you.
Aspen felt nauseous and excused himself to the bathroom.

(I didn't either lol)
"He must be nervous. It's a pretty big deal, you know?" He chuckled, his toe beginning to tap before adding, "Maybe I'll check to see if he's alright,"
