(Okay! Will do!)
"Hey, I'll be back, Sebastian!" Xander said, trying to sound cheerful. He walked closer to Jamie and looked at him, trying to do what he could to help. "Hey, you good?"
"No, okay, I'm not. Can you both just-" Jamie was interrupted by the life guard starting to yell something.
"Can everyone go back to your cabins, your counselors will take you to the dining hall for dinner!" She yelled. Jamie grabbed his stuff and stormed off towards the cabins, not bothering to wait for Xander and Sebastian.
"Alright, just let me know if- oh, okay… he's gone." Xander sighed and walked back to the cabin, where he changed into dry clothes.
Rey closed her book and tucked it under her arm as she walked out the door towards the dining hall. She already knew the way, so she didn't wait for the counselor to walk her.
Jamie wasn't inside when Xander reached the cabin. His stuff had been thrown on the bed, and his sketchbook was open to the faceless drawings of Xander and Sebastian. Jamie hadn't gone to the dining hall yet, but he was close to just leaving if their counselor didn't show up in the next ten seconds. He was waiting on the porch, glaring at nothing.
Xander didn't mean to, but he caught a glimpse of the open page in Jamie's sketchbook. He recognized Sebastian, but not himself. Xander looked to make sure Jamie wasn't there and no one else paid attention, then went to close the sketchbook. He was pretty sure that Jamie hadn't intended to leave it that way.
Josie had finished unpacking and decorating her bunk by the time they called for dinner. Her bed frame was outlined in streamers and ribbon, all in pastel colours, and a row of succulents in ceramic, white, duck-shaped planters lined the window next to and below her bed. She fluffed and tucked her cacti themed bed sheets before hopping down. She knew the girls might find her basic, but she embraced the things that made her happy. Announcing that she was heading to the dinning hall, she left the bunk cheerfully.
She was walking past the boys cabin when one of the campers caught her eye. He sat on the porch, glaring at nothing. Josie approached him, she didn't like seeing anyone in a bad mood. "Rough first day?" She asked, sitting down next to him.
Jamie was silent for a few moments. "It's not really anyone's fault, I'm just not in a great mood." He said, fiddling with his hands.
"That seems to be the general consensus of a few people so far," Josie thought for a second, "Is there anything you can do now that will help you feel better? We kinda have to go to dinner now but is there something you can bring along?"
Jamie felt uncomfortable. "I really don't need any help," he said quickly, "I'll just be heading over there. Tell Ryan- the counselor that I went on without him."
(Alright guys, this is going to be the counselor:
Name: Ryan Woods
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Sexuality: Too old to date campers
Appearance: Brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin
Personality: All over the place, anyone can control him so anyone can make his personality)
"Oh, okay, well I hope you feel better," she called after him as he walked away. She frowned to herself. Josie couldn't believe that there was someone out there who didn't want to work towards happiness. She wouldn't accept it. She knew she was going to become friends with that kid. She stood up just as another guy was walking out of the cabin, bumping into him. He was older, with brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a tee with the camp logo on it. "Oh, hey. You're Ryan, the guy's counselor, right?" Josie didn't wait for an answer, "Is that guy okay?" She pointed to the dude walking towards the dining hall. "He seemed really upset just now and I don't know him well enough to know how to get him to feel better."
"Who, Jamie?" Ryan asked her. "I didn't even know he was here- but, yeah he's… okay. He's probably just in a mood, he always hates coming here. His parents make him go," he explained.
Josie was shocked, "Who would ever hate coming here? The air is so fresh and clean, and everyone I've met is so nice."
Ryan sighed. "This place has given him some bad memories. I- if he wants to tell you them, he can, but I know from experience not to try and make him have fun here. He does it in his own time."
"Oh, well okay, it's only the first day, I guess," she turned to leave but remembered something, "Oh, the rest of the girls and I are probably going to spend the night doing get-to-know-you activities after dinner, so when you see Jamie, tell I hope he feels better soon, and he can stop by whenever for water-coloring or scrap-booking if he needs some chill time." With that she turned once more and hurried down the porch steps and ran to catch up with the girls.
