Malorie hears the chatter from the eerie passing by her cave. None of the other mimics cared about her at all, so she knew she didn't hear on purpose. She just sat there like she always did, changing her form slightly, propping open her chest and covering herself in her treasures. It would hide her effectively.
(hey finn did you read the starter, and if so, what side are you on? the folk, the eerie, third party or neutral?)
(yellow, @That-One_Person i have to get to finn first but im almost there)
(Do I have to be a mimic or can i be a Dragonborne?)
(you can be anything you want, even outside the playable races. as long as it's not op, so no wizard lizards or anything.)
(did you read the starters or should i summarize?)
(may i please join this?)
(yeah ofc)
(it'd be great if you and that guy could fill out some character sheets(there's a template))
(I skimmed the starter somewhat)
(ok, i'll just quickly sum the other starters for shimo too)

(so basically, there's a war between the folk, who are pretty much the playable races in dnd give or take, and the eerie, or as the folk call them as a way of insult, the beasts. and there are eight places where it's completely safe called 'havens'. (if you want something else, or want to know the standing of certain races we can discuss further)
(maxis attending a school for magic users right next to one of the biggest havens, that also stands as a big threat to the eeire.)
(mal is in a dungeon, that's where the mimic thyme begins)
(so finn, how much do you love your meow machine'>purr machine soup-scooper?)
(i love him so much i would die for him)
(…you're not…..you're not gonna deathsnuggle him right?)
(not if you're fast. (im not actually that evil))
the city of T'mecho was generally peaceful, even though it wasn't a haven, open to both eerie and folk. many people go there since it's been in high demand for workers recently.
rumours of gathering hostile eerie, spread through the dark streets and narrow alleys.
the markets seem vacant and even the shops seem to be closing.
finn, as you're walking down the cobble-stone-clippity-clops, your thin little meow machine'>purr machine, soup-scooper, was weaving between your legs, making it a little hard to walk without stepping on it.
suddenly, it bristled and hissed, suddenly bolting into a dark alley the two had just pasted.
there was more hissing and growling, then suddenly, it soup-scooper yelped and the noise stopped.
i run after soup-scooper to try to see if he's ok
you hear the clank of metal, and for a second a giraffy shadow disappears as it turns a corner.
"hey! that's my meow machine'>purr machine!!" i yell as i run after the giraffy shadow, only to be perplexed when he disappears
you hear quiet snickering and muttering almost seeming to come from the shadows itself, then a raspy awk-wonky-donky voice all around you, still from the darkness filling the alley, "you want it back?" an eerie cackle split the air.
"yes!! very much!!" i call back
"how about… we cut a deal…" you could almost hear the evil grin in their voice.
"…i'm listening" i am wary
the shadows grow and spread, there was just a moment of darkness. then you were in a human containment unit, surprisingly, filled with piles of blankets, cushions ,pillows and shiny knick-knacks. near the other side of the wall, sitting on the biggest stack of cloth and stuffing sat an aarakocra crow, a mendelian of a bleeding peeper hanging around their neck.
"glad to hear it, cause i have something that i need done." it said in a chipper voice.
(alright lucian.)
you wake up, everything is pitch black and you can barely see. faintly, the light begins to grow stronger until the hunched, canine form of a battleworn gnoll holding a candle came into view. you could now see you were in a beaten up metal cell with a rusty lock, "they are coming. don't leave. guards outside." said the gnoll, his voice was gruff and he spoke in sharp barks in a lower dialect of common.
he tossed some rations just outside the cell and left.
(your turn yoru)
although you are primarily a blacksmith, you are also a fighter.
through unknown means your clan has caught wod of a huge upcoming attack on the city spellbound, it's not imminent, but is a terrible threat to all the inhabitants of the large haven.
your clan was probably strong enough to survive an attack on their own, but the clan was too noble to let bystanders get hurt.
so yoru, you've been sent to The caves of Beshaba with another person from the clan, as well as four others sent to different locations.
you've just heard the message, they say there's five days before the attack begins and it takes two to get out to The caves of Beshaba. what would you like to do?
(ok, shimo, finn, you to start a little early in the timeline just so you know)
