"What? What is it?" She tilted her head slightly in confusion. He seemed upset, what could it be? It hurt her to see him so distressed.
"What? What is it?" She tilted her head slightly in confusion. He seemed upset, what could it be? It hurt her to see him so distressed.
Jackson turned to look at her. He ran his hand through his hair.
"Stay on the phone with me please, okay?"
'Okay.'
He began to explain to Ivy. "It's my sister. Something wrong. My mom, Amelia's sobbing, it's bad, I'm really sorry I have to go."
"No no no, it's okay. You go take care of your family. Keep me updated though, okay?"
"Okay, yeah, yeah yeah." He gave her a small kiss to the forehead before racing out her room and to the front door. He jumped into his car and started back home.
"I'm coming, Amelia."
She smiled a little, he was too cute for her to be disappointed. "Hey, did he just disappear?" amy (the most wonderful woman in the world) popped her head into the room. "Nah, something came up at home. Seemed rather important." Ivy shrugged.
Jackson raced, going above the speed limits. He had to slam on the breaks when he got to his house. He didn't even bother to get his keys, he just jumped out and ran inside.
"AMELIA!"
"In here!"
He could hear the crying in her voice.
He raced towards her voice which ended up in his mom's room.
She lay on the floor unconscious, Amelia neiling next to her, shaking her in attempt to wake her up. He slid on his knees next to them. He grabbed out his phone and dialed 911 while checking her pulse.
"Come on, come on!"
"Oh…what was it?" "Not sure. Something about his mom and some Amelia girl crying." "Amelia?" "I assume it's like his sister or something but I don't know." "Huh. I hope everything's okay." "Yeah so do I."
A siren came a few minutes later. A few people rushed in. Jackson took Amelia by the hand and stood back a little. He hadn't noticed that he was crying with Amelia. The next thing he knew, they were performing CPR, trying to get her to wake up. Come on, Mom. Hold on just this once…
"I don't know…I have this weird gut feeling that something's wrong…" "Ives, I'm starting to think that's part of your powers. You always have weird feelings that turn out right." "Yeah but this one's bad. Like really bad."
The med stood and looked to the ground. "We're sorry-" Their voices were choppy in his year and the world seemed to spin. "-…Were guessing it was a heart attack…-" He could hear Amelia sobbing louder now. "-…But you should be okay to be back…-" There was a gentle touch to his shoulder. "We're gonna have you folks step outside since the house is so tight." He did as he was told, everything almost silent. There was a ringing in his ears he guessed wouldn't go away.
"Maybe you should head over?" "Are you nuts? One, I don't even know where this guy lives. And two, this is a family thing! What if his mom died or something? The last thing he needs is me over there."
They stood on the grass. The silence kept on until he was suddenly aware that his sister still stood next to him crying. Her sobs became the loudest, most painful thing in the world. They seemed to stab him in the heart. You can fix yourself later, Jackson. He knelt down next to her and brought her close, squeezing her gently. "Hey, sshh…" He placed a gentle kiss.on her head. "It'll be okay."
"Yeah but-" "No buts amy (the most wonderful woman in the world). I'll stay here. If he needs me, he'll call." amy (the most wonderful woman in the world) sighed. "Alright, whatever sis." She headed back downstairs, leaving Ivy alone.
(I'mma skip a bit)
The sky was darkening outside, the stars just beginning to show their faces. Jackson had figured that Amelia would want to spend the night in the house. They had taken the lifeless body of his mom a way. After seeing stuff was taken care of, he had taken Amelia and driven away. He just wanted to be there for Amelia at the moment. They sat in the car in a parking lot outside of a fast food restaurant. He had tried getting (only) her food, but she didn't eat. She wouldn't. He sighed. He understood. He took out his phone and began to call Zavian.
"Hey, Zavian." There was something holding onto his voice a little. He tried to cough it off, but failed. "I need a place to stay for the night. Both me and Amelia."
"What happened?"
"I…can't explain right now. I just. Neither of us can bear to be in the house at the moment."
"Well, gosh I feel bad, but our house is under renovations. And we're in a hotel. I mean, it's pretty cramped, but-"
He sighed. "No no no no. It's okay. Thanks though. I'll text you later."
'Alright. You take care of yourself.'
He hung up the phone without another word. Amelia comes first.
He looked into the back seat to see Amelia slumped over asleep in her chair. He sighed, leaning back his head.
She sighed. I hope he's okay. Him and Amelia. I'd let him stay here if he needed to. The words were loud enough to echo through her head. She felt a little disappointed that she couldn't help him through whatever was happening.
Jackson heard her thoughts a few miles away. He sighed again, taking another glance at Amelia. It might be good… He finally gave in and took out his phone to call her.
She glanced around the room before pulling out her phone. Should she call him or would he call her?
His finger met her contact and the phone began to ring. He brought it up to his ear. I hope I find somewhere soon.
She nearly dropped her phone, he startled her so bad. She quickly picked up. "Jackson? What is it?"
Her voice brought a flood of relief over him. It felt nice to hear it. The tears in his voice were loud, but he didn't bother to hide them. "Hey, Ives." He sniffled a little.
"What's going on? Is everything alright? Wait, don't answer that, clearly not everything is alright." She sighed, why was she so bad at words?
He sat silently for a few moment, his voice too shaky to use. He cleared his throat a little. "Do you think I could get a place to stay tonight? Something happened and I can't… We can't be in the house."
"Well, you can stay with me if you'd like." She twirled her hair around her finger, one of her nervous habits.
"Oh, Amelia too. It's fine if you can't. I'm just searching right now." A tear fell, and he quickly wiped it off his cheek. Strong for Amelia.
"No no no, it's fine if she stays too. I don't mind. Lillian's out with her boyfriend and amy (the most wonderful woman in the world)'s a night shifter so I have the house to myself."
