Lucas nodded and stayed close to Susan, watching Pit. Pit looked up at Robin Hood and the Doctor, not fully trusting either but knowing that he couldn't really go solo at the moment due to the injury.
Lucas nodded and stayed close to Susan, watching Pit. Pit looked up at Robin Hood and the Doctor, not fully trusting either but knowing that he couldn't really go solo at the moment due to the injury.
"Okay, finished. Now, let's get out of here, now!" Susan said. The Docto and Robin Hood helped support Pit and together they walked out, looking around for the exit.
Lucas clung to Susan's arm as they ran, Pit getting half dragged by Robin and the Doctor. Luckily, as an angel Pit weighed next to nothing, so at least it wasn't difficult. Pit was only about half conscious at this point from bloodloss, but he still put in effort to push himself forward, no matter how much it hurt to do so.
Susan led them up a tower. They walked through a door into a futuristic looking control room, where everyone halted. The Doctor stared at it. "This isn't in the right time period. How can a 51st century spaceship be here?" he asked.
"M-Maybe the Sheriff is from the future, along with his robots?" Lucas suggested weakly, gasping for breath from their long sprint.
"No, he's not, otherwise I would have smelled the time energy off him ages ago. The robots probably are, though." the Doctor said.
Pit fought for consciousness, his head and legs feeling incredibly heavy and tingly. His vision kept flickering between completely black and mostly black. "Er… maybe the robots brought the machine with them…?"
"Yes, most likely…." the Doctor said as he began to search the ship's databanks.
"W-Where are we… where are we going…?" Pit mumbled, gradually becoming less and less able to support himself. "Is this the… the time thing?"
"Doctor, we need to get back to the TARDIS and help Pit. This can wait." Susan said.
"Yeah… he's a doctor, right? Or just a… a time doctor, lord thing… or whatever." "Is he alright?" Lucas asked. "He won't die from something like that, right?"
"Doctor…." Susan said warningly.
"I mean, he's an angel, so the worst that would happen is he passes out, right? I mean, he seems pretty close to passing out already…" Lucas looked worriedly at Pit.
"I just need to find a few things. Hold on a minute!" the Doctor said.
"What are you even looking for?" Lucas asked, glancing over at Pit again. Pit was barely conscious at this point, but still seemed to be fighting to be awake.
"Give me one moment! I need to find a thing, it's hard to explain!" the Doctor hissed.
Lucas sighed, stepping closer to Susan while he waited for the Doctor to find whatever it is he was looking for. He kept glancing over at Pit, who Robin was practically just carrying at this point.
"Ah, there it is. See? The story says the land was plundered for all it's weight in gold. Well, most versions. They're trying to make a matrix of gold to take off again!" the Doctor said, pointing to the screen.
"And, that helps us how…? Is this… is this really important right now? I mean, I don't mean to be rude, but is this something that needs to be done immediately?"
"But look, it won't work. It'll blow up half the country if we don't stop it." the Doctor said.
"…What? I still have no idea what you're trying to do, but if you could do it quickly…?" Lucas cast another glance at Pit, whose side was now entirely soaked in blood.
"Listen, we need to find out where they're even making this stuff. Come on!" he said, running off down the hallway. "Doc….tor….." Susan trailed off, and decided to simply run after him.
Lucas sighed and ran along behind them, feeling adrenaline pump through his veins as he did so.
Robin Hood half carried Pit after them. The Doctor had found the room where they were making the gold. About seventy people were hauling around anything made of gold into a vat, where it was melted and poured into molds for the matrix. "Doctor, we really need to get Pit back to the TARDIS. There's no time!" she sighed, exasperated.
"Can't we come back to fix this? I mean, surely just dragging Pit around everywhere is a bad idea? We don't want to make it worse."
