"It's a timey wimey sort of thing, far too technical to explain." the Doctor said.
"It's a timey wimey sort of thing, far too technical to explain." the Doctor said.
Pit sighed, gripping his bow. "I can't let you mess with time like this with no good reason, Doctor."
"Listen, I am a Time Lord. I am allowed to mess with time, it's practically my birthright! And you-you-you're just a silly little child with wings! So don't lecture me on what I can and cannot do!" the Doctor glared.
"I'm not 'just a silly little child with wings'! And how on earth is someone born with the right to mess with time? It's incredibly dangerous!" (oof ya dun offended bird boi)
"Time Lord, it's in the name, innit? Listen, right now, this could very possibly be not real. We could very well be in great danger. And stories don't affect people, do they? So stop bothering me and let me figure out what the hell is going on before somebody gets killed, or worse!" the Doctor growled. This disturbed Susan, the Doctor was rarely ever this hostile.
"I assume you know what happens during this contest, then? Something in particular you're wanting to change?" "Hey! Guys, just stop, please…" Lucas pleaded. "Stop fighting… just let the Doctor do his thing and hope it doesn't go horribly, horribly wrong."
"Okay, interfering in a contest that may or may not be a trap isn't the worst thing I've done to time. I saved people who were supposed to have died and created massive paradoxes. Honestly, on balance a fictional contest is hardly anything." the Doctor argued.
"Why do you want to change it then? If it's so insignificant, why's it matter so much to you?"
"Because it's fake! Fictional! I need to figure out what's going on! It's as simple as that!" the Doctor shouted, earning a few funny glances from the 'Merry Men'.
He's honestly changing the past just because he's curious? "Fine, whatever. Go create your paradoxes." Pit leaned back against a tree, looking annoyed. Lucas looked between Pit and the Doctor anxiously.
(Gtg to bed now, byeee)
(Byeee!) The next day, Susan woke up feeling sore all over from having slept on the ground. A full pay in the back of her head suddenly became a splitting headache, causing her to gasp from the sudden feeling of her skull being smashed out.
(Hello? You online?)
Lucas stirred slowly and saw Susan. He was used to sleeping on the ground when his father had the house locked for days. "Susan? Are you alright?" He sat up and yawned. Pit appeared to be keeping watch or something of the like, sitting outside the camp with his bow at the ready.
"No, not really, my head feels like hell." she said, rubbing the back of her neck to emphasize this.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Lucas rubbed his eyes and yawned again, his fluffy blond hair fluffier than usual.
"No, I'll be fine. Where's the Doctor?" she asked, slowly standing up.
"No idea." "He's gone out." Pit interjected. "He's planning on changing the stupid contest. Have you got any idea why he cares so much about it?" He asked Susan.
"Well, I don't really know. He knows something we don't, that's for sure." she said.
"Obviously, since he refused to tell me anything and acted like I was stupid for thinking messing with time was dangerous." Pit twirled his bow between his fingers. It was definitely an interesting weapon. It had no visible string, and it could be split into two short swords for close combat. "I mean, in every single movie with time travel, something goes horribly wrong. Everyone knows that."
"Movie? Sorry, I'm still not quite up to date with your Earth terms, can you explain a bit?" Susan asked.
"Well, really they're human things, but it's like real life, but recorded I guess? Hey, blondie, you're human. How would you explain it?" Lucas looked up. "Please stop calling me blondie. My name is Lucas. Anyways, a movie is a bunch of actors, or people pretending to be a particular character, acting out a scripted scene that someone else wrote. There's lots of different genres and themes, but time travel mostly turns up in sci fi movies, short for 'science fiction'."
"Oh, so like a play. I see." Susan said. "We should leave, find the Doctor."
Lucas nodded and stood up, ready to follow Susan wherever she decided to look first.
"Okay, as I have studied many a map, I know where to go. He's probably at the contest, which would be near the castle. Let's go." Susan said, walking off in what was the general direction of the castle.
Lucas and Pit followed Susan, Lucas staying closer to her and Pit guarding the back to make sure they weren't going to get attacked.
