Vix was carried in her father's arms and Nico throws Will a worried look. He walks over to the other and looks at Vix. Her skin was resting up, her cheeks red. "She's… She's away from her source. Will, I think she's getting sick again." Nico mutters softly. Will's eyes widen and he gently takes Vix into his arms. "She'll be okay. We'll get back soon and everything will be fixed." He says quietly, continuing to walk as he carried his daughter. He bit his lip in fear, but he knew that they had to get out of here and get back to camp.
"Up here." the Doctors said, coming up to a grating in the ceiling. Da'in, with supernatural strength, pulled it off of the ceiling, which was low enough for him to reach easily, and climbed up. "Come on, we need to get out of here." he said, helping Oswald up, then Jo, then his parents. The Doctors followed quickly, at this point they were only waiting for the demigods.
Will hoists Vix to Nico once the son of Hades was up. He then made his way up as well. He takes a deep breath and sighs quietly, looking at the rest of them. "We need to go. I'm worried about Vix. Please tell me she's okay." He looks at Nico. He shakes his head. "No… She's not getting better."
"Hmm. Well, the sooner we steal a ship and get out of here, which by the way is my plan, the better." the Present-Day Doctor said, taking out a small flask of something that was probably alcohol, and swigging it dramatically. "Oi, put that away, I need you sober." Alison protested. "It's medicinal." the Present-Day Doctor growled, earning a glare of disapproval from his previous incarnation.
Will and Nico glance at each other then looks at Vix. "Then we need to hurry. Not the biggest thing we've stolen." Nico laughs gently.
"Well, single file then, my dear chap." the Third Doctor nodded to Da'in, who began to crawl down the narrow ventilation shaft. Alison, as she followed her husband and kids, turned to look back at the Doctors. "Any remarks about my hips will not be appreciated." she snapped. "Ah, your hips are fine, you're built like a man." the Present-Day Doctor consoled. "Thanks, thanks so very much." Alison said sarcastically, crawling down the tunnel.
Nico holds his daughter gently. "Will…" He looks at the other. "We need to move. She's fading fast." Will nods and places her on his back. "Easy…" He bites his lip and starts to crawl. Taking a deep breath Nico followa after.
They came to the end of the tunnel, where a brightly lit hallway was outside. Footsteps passed, muffled conversation could be heard through the grating. "I'll get that." Da'in said, waiting for the people outside to pass. As the group walked past, Da'in could see swishing, rusty red robes paired with a few sets of feet flutter past. When they were gone, "Let's go, quickly. Now, it seems we're in the building of the High Council, meaning a very specific Time Lord in our present company was most likely about to be put on trial, and probably executed, because honestly, when does that not happen? Except that time with the Valeyard. But that's a story for later. Actually, I've only technically gotten executed once, but there were several occasions when I-" Alison cut the Present-Day Doctor off. "Very helpful, let's move. What do they even want you for?" she snapped. "Well, I did notice there were a few planets going missing. As I said, they never did learn to ask nicely for my help." the Present-Day Doctor explained. "Planets going missing?!" his Third regeneration yelped. "Oi, stuff it, peacock. Yes, going missing. You're still exiled to Earth, you wouldn't know of it." his future face retorted. "Everyone, let's get a shift on!" Jo pointed out, she was rather eager to leave.
"Can we please bicker later? My daughter's life is fading and I would like to get back to camp ASAP." Will growls. growls, his eyes dark. there was nothing more terrifying than seeing the rage of a worried father. Vix's skin was burning up and he was not planning to lose her. He brushes past them. "We need to get going."
"There, I've taken the grating off." Da'in said. "Wait, here, I can help. You've helped us, let me help your daughter. It's the least I can do, and I'll be able to find a more permanent solution later. Can she give her hand to me?" the Present-Day Doctor asked. "We need to get going, Doctor. Can this wait?" Oswald asked hurriedly. "No, no, it can't wait. Will, Nico, will you allow me to help her?" the Present-Day Doctor asked.
Will and Nico take a deep breath before looking at each other. Will hands the Doctor Vix. She was so pale, her skin was hot to the touch. She lifts a hand and touches his cheek weakly before her hand falls back to her side. Will clutches to Nico, biting his lip to the point blood was leaking from his lip.
The future Doctor held her tiny frame to his broad-shouldered, lithe form, and took one of her hands. He closed his eyes, focusing, and warmth spread to his fingers. A soft, golden light flowed from his hands to Vix's, the color returning to her cheeks, as she regained her strength. "You didn't." his past face said, jaw dropped. "I believe I just did. Miracle of the Time Lord, much? If it's so good, why don't we share it, it's not as if regeneration energy is actually that difficult for the Time Lords to come hy, and our medicine is incredibly advanced, don't you agree? Now come on, Junior, we have work to do." his future incarnation said, shuffling past, out into the hallway.
Vix groans softly, opening sea foam green eyes. Nico's and Will's eyes widen. "I think you did more than just heal her sickness," Wills says softly. Vix blinks a few times before looking at her parents for the first time in years. "Dad? Papa?" Will took her back into his arms, hugging her and holding her close. "Thank you." He says softly, nuzzling the other.
"I am the Doctor, after all. But we need to hurry. Vixianne, are you well enough to move, and more specifically, if it comes to it, run?" the Present-Day Doctor asked, as he exited the ventilation shaft with the others.
Vix nods, a determined look in her eyes. Will takes her hand and they smile at her. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be." She says softly.
"Alright then, let's go." Da'in said, and together they set off, carefully. The walls were made of a beautiful white marble stone, the windows outside showed a view of a very advanced citadel, sealed inside a giant glass dome. The doors they passed were made of a dark walnut colored wood, and the floors were tinted with a bronze metal covered by a dusty red carpet. Outside was a burnt orange sky with two blazing suns hanging in it. Voices came from down the hall. "Damn, why can't there be a convenient paneled alcove to hide in?" he said. Oswald pointed to her right, where there was a convenient paneled alcove. "Ah, brilliant. Ever hidden in a paneled alcove?" the Present-Day Doctor asked. All but his previous incarnation and Jo Grant shook their heads. "You haven't lived. Come on, let's wait for whoever it is to pass." the future Doctor said, ushering them inside.
(Hey. How are you, Bleu?)
Tired//
Vix crawls into the space, then her parents. Will and Nico glance at each other. They were still baffled. Their sweet baby girl was okay. She was healed. "Now what?" Will whispers to the doctor.
(Ugh, same.)
"We wait for whoever it is to pass by, obviously." Da'in said. There was a moment of silence as footfalls passed by. "This was too easy. The Time Lords wouldn't let us escape just like that, you know. Maybe there's some sort of trap, waiting to be sprung. I dunno, this just seems wrong." Oswald pointed out, and in all honesty, it did feel a little wrong now the subject was brought up.
Vix shuts her eyes and focuses. She outstretches her hands. Will smiles. "Vix is a natural at finding traps. Psychic vision comes in handy." Vix feels the walls with her hands. "They're uneasy." She mutters. "What could that mean…?" She seemed to have a look of concentration on her face. She shakes her head. "I need to get closer…" She mutters. *To much interference."
"Time Lords are legendary psychics, I doubt you'd be able to sense-" Pain. Excruciating, eternal torment. The future Doctor clutched a palm to his forehead in blinding agony. Some force was assulting his mind, calling to him, desperate. Flashes of deep scarlet and white and gold and a blood orange clouded his vision and then-
It stopped, just as suddenly as it had began. He looked out of the alcove, the footsteps had faded. "Let's go now, they're gone." Da'in said, taking the hint that they should probably vamoose, and now was as good a time as any. "Are you alright, Doctor, you had a funny turn there for a moment?" Jo asked her Doctor's successor. "Yes, yes, fine, just a little headache." Understatement of the millenia. Hopefully his predecessor and Vix, who apparently had some sort of psychic abilities, remained unaffected. It seemed to only be targeted at him either way.
Vix glances around. "This way." She says softly, her eyes narrowing. Will and Nico glance at the doctor. "You alright?" He asks, moving towards the other. "You looked like you were in pain.
"Oh, me? Must be old age. I am over one thousand, after all. Let's keep moving then, no time to waste." he reassured, walking down the extremely well-kept hallway. "What do the Time Lords even want with us anyways? They could have just sent us back to Earth if they had only wanted you, we'd just be extra trouble to keep around." Ozzie pointed out. She had a knack for asking the right questions to a situation.
Will nods before backing up and looking at Nico and Vix. Vix was looking around, taking in every color, every sight. She looked so excited. She looks at her father's and beams widely. Nico nods at Oswald's question. "I agree. There must be a reason why." He says, placing a hand on his hip.
"Well, we'll find out eventually, although it would be wise to leave as soon as the first available opportunity arises." the Doctors pointed out in unison, annoying Alison to the point that she was on the verge of slapping some sense into them, when Joe noticed her attitude and gently tapped her on the shoulder, distracting her from bringing down hellfire and brimstone on the Time Lord(s? It was a debate on whether they were one person or two separate people. In short, time travel is messed up.). "Listen, let's focus on finding the way out. Er, Vix, was it? Well, you said you had psychic vision? Well, this place is essentially a labyrinth, could you, er, try and see the way out? Or something. I dunno, it just might make escape a little easier. Sorry. It's a stupid question, just forget it." Da'in stammered. He wasn't used to requesting things of women. It just felt… wrong. He hoped she would forgive him. Ozzie always said he should speak up if a girl said something or did something that made him uncomfortable, but it just wasn't right at all. He couldn't say no, that would be improper. He was a proud Alreesh, he knew better.
