Will nods to her before rushing out. His eyes are wide. My Camp…
"Will, Doctor, let's go." Alison said, dragging them both along. Just as they got out of the city and to the TARDIS, the bomb went off, destroying the city.
Will glances back at the destruction. "I need to see if Camp Halfblood still exists!" He calls, continuing to run.
"It doesn't. Your camp fell in the year 3134." the Doctor said. "It was nearly in ruins either way."
Will looks at him. "That's not true! You're lying!" Will continues to run, his mind whirling. Nononononono… please!!
"Everything ends sometime, I try not to get very sentimental. Now let's go." the Doctor said.
He kept running, his eyes wide. He had to see for himself.
Alison ran after Will. The Doctor sighed. "Humans these days." he grumbled, heading back into the TARDIS.
He knew the way to camp, even if the landmarks were different. His father had always told him the light would lead him home. He stumbles a little, but keeps going, his breathing uneven and quick.
"Will, this is an entirely different planet. I'm sorry." Alison said, running up to him.
He shakes his head, "Dad always said to follow the light!" He yells back. "It's how I found camp!" There! He saw a faint golden trail.
"Will, come back. Please." Alison said
Will keeps running, his eyes on the shimmering gold line. His heart is racing wildly in his chest.
Alison catches up to Will, pulling him back. "Listen, this is irrational behaviour! I'm surprised you would even…. just…." she trailed off, unsure of what she was even going to say.
His eyes are wide as he points forward. The barrier was gone, the camp exposed to the world. It was in ruins, completely torn down. He wrenches out of her grip and stumbles towards the camp, still in denial.
"Will…."
"No… nononono." He rushes towards the Apollo cabin, slamming the crumbling door open. He collapses, shaking his head.
"Will, we need to go." Alison said.
"I…" His eyes shut as silent tears roll down his face. "No…"
"Will, I'm sorry. But think about it, the camp was destroyed centuries after you died, you can still live your life there, you don't need to worry about anything." she said.
"You… you don't understand. This was a safe place for Halfbloods. Our kind will go extinct because we're what keeps the gods alive…" He whispers.
"Who knows? Maybe it was rebuilt somewhere else?" Alison offered. "But we really should be going either way."
Will glances down, "A-Alright…" He says softly. He stops, seeing a glimmer in the ground. A necklace. A necklace he recognized. It was an Apollo heirloom.
"What is it?" Alison asked. "Did you find anything?"
"An heirloom." He says softly. He wipes the dirt off. "It's given to the head camper at the beginning of their job." he says quietly.
