"What? I have a thing for 70's slang." He pretended to act offended.
"What? I have a thing for 70's slang." He pretended to act offended.
"Well, I happen to have a thing for the word, 'aw shucks,'" Axel declared, chuckling lightly at Luka's expression, a rare smile lighting his features up.
Luka grinned, running a hand through his hair. "You have a really nice smile. The kind of smile that I would do anything to see again."
"Oh, uh, t-thanks," Axel stammered, feeling his blush deepen as he cursed himself for tripping over his words. No one had ever made him this flustered.
Luka bit his lip, looking over Axel's face. He leaned forward in his seat. "Do you know the old playground behind the hospital? The one nobody uses because it's just. . . too sad?"
River walked in the room and sat down quietly picking at her scabs. She heard two people talking about the old playground “that’s not true I go there. I was going there after this stupid thing was done.” She said to them.
"Yeah, I know that one. . ." Axel said, trailing off as Luka moved forward, his mismatched eyes studying the boy. He had gone there a few times since he had nothing to do most days.
"That's nice, random girl I've just met, but I'm in the middle of asking a hot guy out on a date and I'm sure you're an amazing person, I would love to spend time with you later on, but my romantic endeavors just cannot wait." Luka cast a glance at Axel, trying to see if he'd caught the hot guy and the date part.
Axel looked down at his hands, blushing furiously as he shook his head faintly. This is probably a dream. Not that he wanted it to be a dream. "Your romantic endeavors are quite ambitious. But, tell me about this so-called, date." He answered as he looked up, finally mustering his demeanor.
Luka blushed. "I was thinking I could bring some food and we could have a picnic and get to know each other, instead of just in this support group. Unless you're not into guys, in which case, I respect your heterosexuality."
"No, no, I'm into guys. Definitely," Axel said quickly, cursing himself for sounding desperate. He pulled on the fabric of his sweatpants, trying to occupy himself with something. "And that sounds great."
"It does? And you don't mind if I fall asleep randomly in the middle of our picnic? Promise me that if I fall into the food, you won't laugh." Luka placed a hand on Axel's knee.
"I won't, don't worry," Axel answered, glancing down at Luka's hand as it rested on his prosthetic. Surely he could feel the cold metal below the fabric of his sweatpants. Suddenly feeling self-conscious, he fidgeted in his seat. "And, if I trip and fall, erase the memory from your mind."
Luka leaned in. "Will do. I'd help you up, trust me." He looked around checking for nurses, "I'll pick you up. Tonight. We can eat under the moonlight. It's a lunar eclipse tonight."
“Random boy I met my name is River. And fine go be happy.” She said monotonously
"Did you plan on meeting me on this exact date? If not, we're very lucky that it's an eclipse," Axel replied, chuckling lightly as a faint blush spread across his cheeks when he noticed Luka inching closer to him. "So tonight. Got it."
"I was planning on going alone, but you sort of popped into my life and I want to make you a part of it. Forever. Hopefully." He placed his hand under Axel's chin and tilted it up slightly. "See you tonight."
"Bit ambitious, aren't you? I like it." Axel answered gently, faint sarcasm creeping into his voice. "But yeah, tonight." He nodded as the nurses stepped back in, ready to wheel him out.
(Gtg, be on tomorrow though.)
(bye!)

"Axel, wait." Luka let go of Axel's face. "What's your room number? I'll come get you."
"206," Axel answered as the nurse spun him around in his wheelchair. He gave him a quick wave before he was down the same bleak hallways once again, the overwhelming smell of disinfectant hanging in the air.
(can I steal Vaughn?)
(Lmao, Vaughn is a sad mentally ill boy, I’m mean to him)
(And okay hold on, where is everyone atm? Did I miss anything important?)
