Thorn's blush grew, "O-okay."
Thorn's blush grew, "O-okay."
“I’m much better with a gun, but I’m obviously not going to fucking shoot you,” Vaughn said, slowly shaking his head. He ran a hand through his hair, then took another bite of his burgers straightening his posture slightly.
"Fair point. Though judging by how absolutely obnoxious I am, I'm surprised you haven't at least tried," Kaz said with a shrug, taking another sip of his beer to drown the small voice in the back of his head that was beginning to beg him to piss Vaughn off. Thank god for alcohol
“I don’t shoot friends. I don’t have many friends,” Vaughn said, lips pulling into a tight frown as he said that. It would be nice to talk to people, but he always choked up before he even tried to.
"I will keep that in mind," Kaz said, taking another swig of his beer to spite the voice in the back of his head. His vision was beginning to blur slightly, but he couldn't bring himself to care
Vaughn looked at Kaz, frowning at him now instead. “Maybe you should slow down with those,” he said. He was fond of drinking too, but after all that Kaz had told him before, he didn’t want the other to be drinking too much.
Kaz rolled his eyes. "Jesus, you sound like Cas. Or Argo," he said, making a face as he finished the beer. "Dammit, Kaz, if I catch you drinking one more time I'll hex you so badly you give yourself static shock every time you go within five feet of a bar," he said, miming what Argo had told him just a week prior
“After what you told me earlier, I’m just concerned,” Vaughn argued, a slight edge in his tone. He knew that if he had stayed quiet, Kaz would keep on drinking. “You’re going to damage your goddamn liver.”
"Oh who cares," Kaz mumbled, folding his arms loosely across his chest. "Already lost my job, my boyfriend, and most of my credibility. My liver is the least of my issues," he grumbled
“That doesn’t matter. You’re not getting any more of those,” Vaughn said, his tone stern as he spoke. He didn’t want to sound like Kaz’s parent or something, but he was completely serious about this.
Thorn's blush grew, "O-okay."
"Aw, see?" Lana's voice lowered. "That damn blush. Does something to me."
Kaz gave him a challenging look. When Cas made his rounds he gestured for another drink, a glass of bourbon instead of beer. "You said I couldn't have any more beers," he said, giving Vaughn a smug look before taking a sip
Vaughn glared at Kaz sharply, frowning heavily. He was suddenly standing and ripping the drink out of Kaz’s hands. He stepped outside, making sure Kaz could see him as he poured the drink out into the street. He walked back inside and sat down, setting the glass back on the table. His look was stern, though he didn’t say anything.
"What the fuck man?! That was two bucks down the drain!" Kaz yelled offendedly. He scowled at Vaughn, folding his arms and glaring at him irritatedly
“I was serious about what I said before. No more,” Vaughn said, tone calm and low. He was slightly disappointed in Kaz that he already went back to drinking. He needs to stay remotely sober for a short period of time.
"God damn, even you're doing this to me? Look, I don't need you, or Cas, or Argo's sympathy. I don't. Need. It," Kaz spat, suddenly very irritated. Before he knew it he was pulling himself out of the booth, Kaon laughing in his mind as his alternate personality began to claw at his mind. Let me out, let me out, I'll show them you don't want your sympathy, it hissed
If a look could kill, he would be dead. Luka cracked a grin. "I have a pushover nurse. He obviously can't resist my charms." Luka struck a pose.
"Charms. . . right." Axel nodded, shaking his head and laughing as he watched Luka. Sure, he had a few cute nurses, but every single one of them was fake and sugarcoated nearly everything. "So, you're my, uh, emotional support guy?" He asked, turning the conversation back towards what Luka had said to his nurse.
"Why not? I'm pretty supportive, don't you think?" Luka put a finger on Axel's nose, smiling.
(sorry, I didn't see your post earlier.)
Axel wrinkled his nose and batted Luka's hand away playfully, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Mhm, supportive." He answered, shaking his head faintly as he brushed a few strands of hair out of his face.
“I’m doing this because I don’t want to see you lying in a goddamn hospital bed because of liver failure,” Vaughn snapped. He stayed sitting, but he was glaring sharply up at Kaz. His fists clenched tightly, and the whispers soothed for him to strike Kaz. He couldn’t drink if he was knocked out.
(don't be sorry!)
Luka folded his arms, smiling down at Axel. "So. . . what's your number?" His face was dusted with a light pink as he got up, green eyes brightening.
"Number?" Axel questioned stubbornly, raising a brow as he tilted his head to the side, studying Luka. "Room number? Favorite number? There are a lot of numbers, Luka."
(sigh. Axel's being the stubborn kid he is.)
"You know what? Who gives a shit? I sure as hell don't," Kaz spat, turning on his heel and running directly into Cas. The older man grabbed his arm, dragging him over to the counter for a moment.
"You sit the hell back down and you talk to Vaughn. Got it?" Cas spat.
"What if I don't want to, huh? What if I'm sick of all the support groups and the therapy and the pills? What if-"
"No. I didn't cough up blood for a month reviving your sorry ass just to watch you storm off and lose the only friend you've got other than me and Argo. So sit the hell back down, flirt with him, do something. Just don't walk away," Cas growled before shoving Kaz back to the booth. Kaz flipped him off over his shoulder before sitting back down in the booth
Vaughn kept his hands clenched in his lap. He avoided looking at Kaz. He probably wouldn’t say it, but yes, he was fully and truly disappointed in his friend. That was such a big thing to say, but it was true. He was disappointed in him for not making a single effort to even want to try and get better.
"Gah." He shook his head, burying his face in his hands. "Don't make this harder than it needs to be." Luka pulled out his phone, waving it. "Phone number."
"There we go. That's more specific," Axel answered, chuckling as he reached out to take Luka's phone. After a few moments, his number was typed in and he handed the cell phone back. "So, since you're my emotional support guy, want to go around the hospital and see what trouble we can get into?"
Kaz stared off to the side, biting the inside of his cheek as he scowled. He refused to give Vaughn any more hell for something he did. Vaughn didn't deserve his sorry mess. "I…Sorry," he finally muttered, his arms wrapped tightly around himself as he continued to look anywhere but where Vaughn was
