Kaz set his helmet on the handlebar, turning to look at Vaughn. He chuckled softly as Vaughn fiddled with his hair. "C'mere, nerd," he said teasingly, reaching a hand up to run it through Vaughn's hair until he thought it looked okay. "There you go, Beyoncé. Now come on, let's get burgers," he said before turning to walk towards the door

Vaughn rolled his eyes at the two nicknames, the corners of his lips quirking up. He didn’t protest when Kaz fixed his hair. Why was that? If anyone else had tried to, he would have broken their goddamn hand. He shook the thoughts away and followed behind Kaz, pulling the door open and holding it for him.

Kaz grinned at Vaughn. "Oh, how gentlemanly of you," he laughed before stepping inside. There were already a few people inside, probably lingering from the dinner rush earlier. Kaz slid into his usual booth towards the back, still smiling as he did so. Why was he smiling so much around Vaughn? And the oddest part was that he didn't understand why his smile was so real. Huh. Maybe being with friends did help a little

"Ooh, nice. I love how you have such a definitive aesthetic," Lana said, pulling out a few different shades of red colored pencil.

@ShadeStar

Thorn nodded, "Yeah. I've always been drawn to the colors, and it helps that I have black hair and red eyes."

@ShadeStar

Thorn thought for a second, "I had reddish brown eyes in all my baby pictures. I think around the time my sun allergy started rearing it's ugly red was the time they turned to this shade. So I suppose developed."

Vaughn sat down across from Kaz, shoulders slouched as he folded his hands. He kept his head lowered, glancing around warily at other. God, he hated being out in public. This building was a safer place, but he didn’t trust the people.

@WriteOutofTime

"Oh, okay. I mean I was just imagining like your parents staring down into the bright red eyes of their newborn infant," Lana said with a snort. "Not trying to be mean, but I'd be freaked out. At least at first."

@ShadeStar

Thorn snorted, "Now I would pay money to see that. My parents screaming because them, with their blue and brown eyes, had a red eyed kid."

Cas walked over to their booth, glaring at Kaz as he did so. "And what do you think you're doing out of the support group?" he huffed, folding his arms as he scowled at him. Kaz rolled his eyes.
"Come on man, he was asking us for our sob stories. Besides, Vaughn hadn't been out of that hellhole in forever and we felt like burgers." Cas sighed, reaching for a small notepad and a pen.
"Okay, whatever. The usual for sparky over here, but what do you want?" he asked Vaughn

Thorn snorted, "Now I would pay money to see that. My parents screaming because them, with their blue and brown eyes, had a red eyed kid."

"Ha, yeah," Lana agreed with another laugh. She brushed some eraser marks off the page. "This is almost done. It actually looks pretty good."

(gtg, be back later this afternoon)

Vaughn listened to their banter, it amusing him slightly. He sat up a bit more, clearing his throat as Cas adressed him. “Oh, uh, I’ll just have what Kaz is having,” he answered. He wasn't sure what sort of things were served there. He really only ever had come to drink.

@_sleeby_rat_

Cas arched a brow, adjusting his sunglasses as he wrote. "M'kay. Back in twenty or so," he said before he walked off. Kaz leaned back in the booth a little, grateful Cas didn't chew him out for long.
"Well, that went a little better than I thought. I was expecting him to flood my apartment or something," he chuckled

@Desvelarse pets

“Maybe he did and he just didn’t mention it,” Vaughn said with a loose shrug. His knee bounced as he shifted slightly in his seat. “Hey, what do you usually order anyways?”

@_sleeby_rat_

"Bacon cheeseburger and a beer," Kaz answered simply. "But I will zap his ass back to wherever he came from if he flooded my apartment. The last time he did I had to get Argo to fix everything since I didn't have the cash to fix it myself. I had to work at the nightclub for a week," he said, making a noise of disgust at the mention of the nightclub

@Desvelarse pets

“A nightclub?” Vaughn asked, a brow arched in question. He wasn’t concerned about the food- he wasn’t a picked eater at all. But a nightclub? He really hoped that Kaz didn’t work as a prostitute or something along those lines.

@_sleeby_rat_

"Yeah. Argo made me the stand-in bartender for a week and you have no idea how gross some people could be. I had at least two couples try to fuck on the bar counter, and I swear by the end of it I was this close to electrocuting half the people there," Kaz said, gesturing exaggeratedly as he spoke

@Desvelarse pets

Vaughn seemed almost relieved when he heard that. At least he wasn’t a prostitute. “It could have been a lot worse,” he mumbled, running a hand through his hair absentmindedly.

@_sleeby_rat_

“Oh, yeah. This one dancer, I think his name was Sam, he kept trying to drag me onstage while Argo’s boss laughed at me. I almost had to try to pole dance in a suit,” Kaz laughed
