"M'kay, cool." Kaz rolled the bike away from the fence, stopping to sling a leg over it as he waited for Vaughn to get on. He suddenly wished Vaughn wanted fast food instead. The last thing he wanted to deal with was Cas giving him hell for not being in the support group

"Hey, no, I was the one who took you here." Luka pulled out a credit card and placed it on the table, pushing Axel's dollars back towards him.

Axel sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he thought. After a brief moment, he nodded faintly in agreement and slipped his money back into his pocket. "Thank you. . ." He added, a small smile spreading across his face.

@Lenered

(Should I make their food come out?)
(Yeah, I'll do that)

Luka nodded, smiling when he saw Axel's smile. The waiter came over, holding two plates and setting them down on the table.
"Enjoy your meal."
Luka shot a glance at Axel, "Let's eat?"

Axel nodded and took a bite of his burger, managing to swallow. He forced himself to eat a bit more, but after a few moments, he set his food back down. The nurses were constantly trying to get him to eat everyday, but he had a hard time keeping any food in his stomach. "It's good." He answered, looking up at Luka.

@Lenered

"Is it? I'm trying really hard to eat, but I feel like if I lean down, I'll fall asleep in my mac & cheese." Luka poked at it, squinting and leaning into his seat. The only food he'd ever eat in the hospital was cranberry juice. And he wasn't sure if cranberry juice was a food.

Lana glanced around at the rest of the support group. It seemed like the session was wrapping up, but she couldn't really tell. "Do you think we're allowed to hang out in each other's rooms?" she wondered aloud.

Thorn thought for a second, "I know I can't. Unless it's my own of course. Or it's the middle of the night. I hate being allergic to sunlight."

"It's good, but I don't know if I'm going to keep it down," Axel explained, watching Luka poke his mac & cheese. When was the last time he had eaten a full meal? With all the medicine and rehab he had to do, it had been awhile.

@Lenered

Was cranberry juice a food? No, it was a liquid. "If you throw up, I have barf bags in my room at the hospital." Luka took a bite, expecting happiness. "They didn't add enough cheese."

Deleted user

"Barf bags have technically become a necessity in my life," Axel sighed, shaking his head faintly as he leaned back in his wheelchair. How did his life become so screwed up? Two months ago, he was a kid who played lacrosse and had a fairly normal life. Though, Luka seemed to brighten things up a bit.

@Lenered

"Have you lost your virginity yet?" Ouch. He wished there were some things he could take back. Cringing on the inside, he managed to keep a straight face. You don't just ask about someone's virginity. "I mean, you don't have to answer. I just come up with the weirdest questions."

Deleted user

"Sadly no," Axel answered after a few moments, raising a brow at Luka's question. He chuckled lightly and watched him, continuing his explanation. "I'm a nineteen year old, one-legged, virgin. Why do you ask?"

@Lenered

"I don't have a filter like most people. Whatever pops into my head, comes out of my mouth." Luka shrugged and started to shrink into his seat, his face flushed. He prayed for the power to control time and go back and fix every weird thing he'd done.

"I could come to your room," Lana suggested, "to start on my drawing. If you're comfortable with it."

"Hey, it's okay," Axel answered gently as he watched Luka sink into his seat, his tone a drastic change from the usual sarcasm he used. It was kind of nice to see someone more flustered then himself.

@WriteOutofTime

Thorn played with her hands for a moment. Should she? Why not, "Um sure. You can come I guess."

"Yay! This is going to be great," she gushed, already standing up. "I'll meet you there. I gotta run by my own room to get my art supplies." And some inspiration, of course. Creativity didn't really count as a drug anyway. She didn't feel too guilty. "What's your room number?"

(in the story where Lana is originally from, she's addicted to "emotion" drugs which are basically what they sound like. they make you high, but they also induce whatever feeling/emotion you take. so Happiness, Forgetfulness, etc.)

@Lenered

He sat back up, face still beet red. "I'll go to the counter and pay and then we'll be out of this place. Anywhere you want to go?"

Deleted user

"I think the nurses want us back at the hospital, but they can wait. I'm fine with anywhere," Axel answered, a small smirk on his lips as he noticed the tint of Luka's face.

@Lenered

"I bet none of them have noticed we're gone." Luka stood up and grabbed his credit card, heading over to the counter.

Deleted user

"Probably," Axel sighed, leaning forward and resting his chin on the palm of his hands as he watched Luka stand up.

@Lenered

He paid quickly, ignoring the sleepiness that draped over him like a fuzzy blanket. He headed back, grasping the handles of Axel's wheelchair and wheeling him out of the restaurant. "It's funny. I used to love coming here. Endless birthday dinners and strawberry milkshakes for A's. Marya liked coming here too."

Deleted user

Axel nodded in understanding, leaning back to look up at Luka as he blew strands of curly hair out of his face. "Tell me your story. About your sister, your family, what life was like for you," He said, listing them out on his fingers as he leaned forward once again, his posture slouched.

@Lenered

"My sister was a total jock. She used to wrestle guys in the 2nd grade. By the time she was in 6th, she was able to make grown men cry for mercy in a battle. She played varsity football at the high-school in 9th grade and she was a girl. She had a whole second room filled with all of her trophies and medals. She never went out for parties or pursued love, because she had a goal in mind. Protect me. I refuse to believe she died when her base got bombed. She's too badass for that."

Deleted user

"She sounds amazing," Axel answered gently, tugging on the fabric of his sweatpants subconsciously as they walked down the street, drawing the attention of multiple people. For some reason, seeing someone in a wheelchair made everyone suddenly interested in them. "And I'm sure she's alright."

@Lenered

Luka smiled. "Yeah. What about your family? I want to hear your story." His hands were getting sweaty from holding onto the wheelchair's handles too tightly. Dear god, please don't make me fall asleep.
