Elias smiled.
“Oh kid I know so. You might get lucky and a senator’s daughter or some royal princess might find you to be very attractive. You never know.”
Elias smiled.
“Oh kid I know so. You might get lucky and a senator’s daughter or some royal princess might find you to be very attractive. You never know.”
“I'm more into princes,” he said softly as his face flushed heavily
Elias raised his eyebrows.
“Isn’t that something. Senator Leia Solo Organa’s brother, the Jedi, has an apprentice. He’s a prince. From Artorias.
His name is Finn Galfridian. A cute blondie. He’s around your age. He’s Force sensitive, and he’s with Leia’s brother because he’s seeking the help of the senate to aid his home world. Artorias is under attack from the Yuuzhan Vong. And he’s seeking the help of the senate to send a galactic force to help take his planet back. He’s incredibly nice. He brought Frost back to us when he ran off and he was the one who let Leia’s brother know that Frost was Force sensitive. And Leia’s brother led us to the Tano chick. This prince might be someone you could look into. Winter and I already think he’s into princes too. He never really talks to the female senators or princesses.”
Winter stopped mid pancake bite and pointed her fork at Hiro.
“Listen, take your shot. He’s adorable. And you’re Mandalorian. Your every man, woman, and species dream boy. I don’t see anything wrong with it.”
“How is it I never knew I was this much of a pickup card,” he said, laughing softly. “ I could never pick any guy up as a mechanic “
Winter laughed.
“Well… You’ve kind of been in hiding for a little bit. And now you can, well, tell people you’re Mandalorian and Force sensitive now. That’s an added plus.”
“Cool,” he said with a chuckle
Elias finished off his pancakes.
“You’re going to be in high demand. Especially if you come rolling in with us. We rarely show up to the senate. And if we show up with someone in tow? You’re automatically the most intriguing thing anyone in the senate will want to see.
“And, you guys will stay with me.. Right?” he asked
Elias put his feet up on the table and Winter frowned at him.
“We should be. Unless the Mandos decide they want you and they take you. But fortunately we are on good terms with the Mandalorians. And we have already thrown our chips in, if the Mandalorians decide they’re going to Artorias to fight, then we’re going. We love a good fight, and we also promised the Pantorans, the Mandalorians, and the Alderanians that if they were to go fight, we would go with them. So we have that going for us.”
Winter pushed Elias’ feet off the table.
“That is correct. And the Mandalorians and the Pantorans are itching to go fight on Artorias. So you may catch the eye of a certain prince. If we go fight. Which is a high possibility.”
“If we fight them I'm helping.” he said “ I may not know my home but I'm sure as hell not going to let them fight on their own”
Elias chuckled.
“That’s that Mando spirit right there. We’ll be landing on Coruscant in a few hours. Think of what you might want to say to the senators from Mandalore. They’re going to find you like a heat seeking bullet once someone spills the beans about that tattoo you got there.”
Hiro nodded and finished his food “ you wouldn't happen to have a training room would yah?” he asked softly
Winter narrowed her eyes.
“If you mean one for prepping speeches and preparing what you’re going to say to other senators, then yes. For lightsaber combat? No. However, there are plenty of places on Coruscant. Such as the old Jedi arena, and the old Jedi temple. Leia’s brother goes there all the time. With his apprentice, padawan, student, whatever you want to call the Prince of Artorias. Elias and I can help with your combat skills. Once again we have ice armor. Lightsabers glance off of us and don’t really do damage. Unless they’re held there. Then it’ll start to eat through the ice.”
Elias got up and took Winter’s plate.
“I volunteer Winter as the test subject. She’s better in combat than I am. She moves faster and makes her moves short and quick. I’m more of a heavy hitter. I’m not great at close combat, but I can knock you off your feet from a distance. It’ll take a few seconds though before I muster up enough power to do it, so if you’re faster, you have the upper hand.”
Hiro nodded, “ I haven't used my saber in a bit, only for training and serious fights.” he said softly “and there's a reason for it. The blade.. Isn't a common color.” he said
Winter usher Frost over to her and set him in her lap.
“That’s alright. I can help you out. And with you saber being an uncommon color, that’s fine, you can ignite it in here. However, please be careful. I got this one so he doesn’t try to touch the blade. Because he would.”
There was a scrambling in the kitchen. Elias popped his head out from around the corner.
“Wait for me I’m coming! I want to see what color it is!”
Hiro lowered his head a bit but stood up. He waited for everyone to be seated before igniting his blade.
It was black..
Elias whistled long and low.
“Now the Mandalorians are going to go crazy over that. Especially since they have one similar to it. Leia’s brother might be apprehensive, but I think that prince from Artorias would absolutely die to get to ask you questions about it.”
Winter nodded in agreement.
“The Mandalorians are going to love that. A black blade is extremely rare. I mean Elias and I have the ability to create our own weapons, but a black saber means something truly different.”
“It's a signal of death. “ he whispered
Elias patted Hiro on the back.
“I know kid. You have to go through something truly horrific for a blade to turn black. And Win and I know how that is. Our little family of three, as of right now, are the last living Hothians in the known galaxy. The empire came in and wiped our people out.”
Winter shifted Frost around on her lap.
“We’ve had our own hardships. But the good thing is, we have each other, and our goal is to raise Frost in a way where even though he’ll see war, he won’t really be traumatized by it. We can’t keep him sheltered forever. But looking at at you now, you are still very young. Still a teenager. Who learned from an early age that the galaxy was no place for a kid. And that in itself is horrific.”
Hiro retracted the beam and put his saber back on his belt. “ I think the galaxy still has a long way to go before it could be considered safe again.”
Elias gently took Frost off of Winter’s lap.
“You’re entirely right. So that’s why we are trying our best to protect what we love. It’s difficult, but it’s worth it.”
He swung Frost around in the air.
“This one here doesn’t know exactly how special or how rare he is. Hothians age at a slower rate than humans. The normal time Hothians usually have children is around 34 years old. We decided to have Frost incredibly early. We had him when we were 24. Which is incredibly young for Hothians. But us being the last living members of our species caused us to go into action. We are trying to save us. Our people.”
Winter stood up and gathered the remaining pancakes to put in the fridge.
“We’re working with some of the Kaminonans. They want to help save us, but we have to have different genetic material. As bad as it sounds, the only option the senate and the Kaminonans have seen is to go back to Hoth and use the genetic material of a few Hothians who are dead, and clone them. Which in itself isn’t complicated, the complicated part is if me and Elias are ready to go see what remains of us. And that’s the part that is tormenting.”
“It's understandable, really and the want to see your people thrive once more is encouraging..”
Winter ran her hands through her hair.
"It is, but it's difficult to understand and comprehend that one day, we won't be the last ones. It's mind boggling."
Elias held his son close.
"The idea of him meeting someone who is just like us is wild. He's never seen anyone who can do what we do. The closest beings who he knows are kind of like us but really not, are the Pantorans. He asks questions about them all the time. and he asks when we can see people like us. Someday soon, I'll be able to tell him that yes there are people like us."
Hiro nodded “maybe you could show me how. I know I'm human but.. “
“Show you how? Like we show you what we can do? Hiro, we can show you what we do with the Force, and I can help you in combat, but creating ice from the water in our bodies is genetically impossible for you to do. That’s something that the Empire tried to figure out for years. That’s what killed our people. The Empire wanted soldiers who could withstand below freezing temperatures and who could create their own weapons because blasters stopped working at sixty below zero. Sixty below zero is a summer’s day for us. The Empire wanted what we had. And when they couldn’t get it, they killed us for it.”
Elias put Frost on his hip and put one hand in Hiro’s shoulder.
“I can show you Force healing, and Force power moves that slowly drain you if you don’t level them out, but what we are genetically capable of isn’t possible for humans. However, we can help you become more cold tolerant. That’s not too difficult. If you’re interested in that, that is entirely within the realm of possibility.”
Hiro nodded “I would love that.” he said with a determined smile. (duuuuuddddeeee funny idea to help winter and elias)
(Dudddeeeeee do share 😂)
Hiro nodded “I would love that.” he said with a determined smile.
Elias gave Frost back to Winter.
“Alright. Where would you like to start?”
(what if hiro had hothian ancestors, like on his mothers side. As I'm just pulling shit out my ass for his backstory)
“Maybe temperature resistance? Or fighting in colder temps?” (setting up the idea lol ;-; Lord helpme)
