A young human trotted around a busy market, his body thin and nimble as he raced the crowds. He was late to work already. Hiro raced to the corner thrift shop.
He watched as a broken ship settled in, the obvious kid in the see-through wall was a dead shot for his mood right then and there

Winter and Elias landed their ship amongst the crowded spaceport. It was the closest stop they could get too since their unfortunate encounter with a small cell of ex-Imperials. Elias uttered a string of Hothian curses that would have skinned a wampa, and Winter looked over at her son, Frost, who was looking out the viewport see-through wall.
"Frost, you must never repeat what Ada said. Those are very very bodge wods. He is upset. Our ship is kind of broken and we need parts to fix it. Once Ada is finished saying his choice of wods, we'll have to go look for some parts. Would you like to go with us?"
Frost jumped up and down enthusiastically and ran to his human containment unit to get his warm weather clothes.
Winter watched as he ran back to his human containment unit, and she sighed in frustration. She muttered to herself.
"The senate is going to love hearing about this. Leia is going to have a field day. The Pantorans are going to have a stroke about the damage done to this ship."
She went over to the control console and and tapped a few buttons to check the status of the ship's systems.
Life support: on the interwebs, functioning normally
Basic functions: on the interwebs, functioning normally
Power converters: on the interwebs, functioning normally
Specialty cooling: on the interwebs, functioning normally
Front engines: on the interwebs, damaged, 88% capacity
Back thrusters: on the interwebs, damaged- 68% capacity
Hyperdrive: Error, offline, damaged- 9% capacity
Winter groaned. Damage to the engines was never good. She yelled back to Elias.
"Hun we are gonna need new back thrusters and a new hyperdrive. The front engines took some damage, but they are still functioning well above the mark. We are going to have to go scavenge for parts. You know as well as I do, those ex-Imperials are hot on our heels. All we did was make them mad."
Winter heard a new string of curses. and Elias emerged from the hall with oil on his hands and face.
"Yeah I know. From the scorch marks on everything in the internal framework I could tell that we weren't well off. Good thing the Pantorans have us on their payroll. We aren't going to have to barter. We have enough mint cheddar to buy what we need, we just have to find it. But the challenge is finding it on a desert planet. And that's not good for us."
Winter sighed, and kissed Elias on the cheek.
"Come on. Let's get our warm weather outfits. We might as well start creating the ice armor. I already know we are going to draw attention to ourselves. We always do. From the glowing peepers, to being covered in ice, and pulling ice weapons from literally out of nowhere, and let us not forget being Force sensitive. That's always a hot bargain."
Elias waved his hand.
"Yeah yeah. I know. Let's just get it over with. Frost! Are you ready son?"
Frost came pacing the race down the hall in his warm weather clothes. Elias did a quick check.
"Alright son, You have your cloak, ice armor, and shield?"
Frost stood proud and nodded in excitement.
Winter and Elias laughed at his antics. They put on their cloaks and summoned their armor and lowered the wobbly flip-shutter. Elias picked up Frost, and Winter followed close behind. Together, the three of them walked into a small thrift shop, that was connected to a shipyard. In the hopes that they had some parts. The walked into the wobbly flip-shutter. Winter spoke.
"howdy, partner? Anyone here? We're looking to buy some parts for a ship."

Elias looked up. And Winter reeled.
Elias spoke.
“Yeah we’re looking for a hyperdrive for a pantoran model ship. Ya know the cold weather dwellers?”
Winter nudged Elias when the boy turned and started looking. She muttered quietly.
“That kid is surrounded by the Force. What’s he doing here on this junk heap?”
Elias shrugged. And waited for the boy’s response.

Frost fidgeted in Elias’ grabby limb and Elias set him down. Elias looked around and picked up a small wrench on the counter. He began to levitate it in front of Frost. Winter looked at Elias and frowned.
“You better be careful of who sees you doing that. The empire may not be able to do anything but bounty hunter sure can.”
Elias kept the wrench floating in front of Frost and kept him busy.
“Yes hun I know. That’s why it’s at hand level so I can gaslight people into brain brewing I’m merely holding it.”
Winter rolled her peepers.
“Whatever you say dear. I’ll keep my peepers open for any unfriendly persons.”
Frost was oblivious and kept trying to catch the floating wrench. Giggling all the while.

Winter jerked her head towards Elias and he looked at her with wide peepers. Frost immediately stopped giggling. Elias spoke, with an edge in his voice.
“Listen kid. We know you’re force sensitive. We felt it. We don’t want any trouble. Give us the parts and we’ll be on our way. As for the wrench, you didn’t see anything.”
Winter watched the boy closely as she picked up Frost.

“ go ahead, I will not tell a inner ghost.” he whispered, “ I can't believe I found people like me… “ he said as he sat the box down. “ and by the way, I may have something to keep the kid busy” he said, taking out a clear glass ball with multi colors pieces inside

Elias grabbed the parts for the hyperdrive, and Winter took the ball.
“Thanks kid. It’ll keep him busy.”
Elias and Winter were walking out when Winter stopped. Elias looked at her with a wonky-donky expression.
“I know I know. I might regret this. Don’t give me that look.”
Winter turned towards the kid.
“Hey. If you need an out, docking bay 32. The big Pantoran ship. We’re leaving as soon as we can. Don’t make me regret this. Force sensitives are hard to find these days, and every one of us being hunted. So you might as well join someone who knows what they’re doing for the most part, than wait to be found.”
Elias and Winter rushed out of the shop and headed back to their ship. As soon as they got back, Elias started on the repairs and Winter stood waiting at the cockpit. She was looking out for the kid, and keeping and peeper out for the not so friendly imperials they had managed to stumble across earlier.

Winter looked out the see-through wall and smiled. She yelled back to Elias.
“Hey the kid is outside! I’m lowering the bay wobbly flip-shutter!”
Elias yelled back.
“What? He actually showed up? That poor boy is going to need a jacket!”
Winter shook her head and went and lowered the wobbly flip-shutter.

Winter pointed back in the ship.
“Elias is that way. Take him the parts. And do you by chance have anything to keep you warm? We’re cold weather dwellers. Our ship doesn’t get warm. It stays perpetually cold. If not that’s okay, we’ll find something. I know we have blankets. As soon as Elias fixes that hyperdrive we should be good to go. We paid premium price for the outside engines to get fixed by the grinding gears droids outside. Something about senatorial status and mint cheddar really gets people going to help ya. Anyways kid. Make yourself at home. We’re headed to Coruscant. Apologies from earlier. We never introduced ourselves. I’m Winter, and the little boy pacing the race around somewhere on this ship is Frost. His father, Elias is the one fixing the hyperdrive.”
A resounding curse came from the back, followed by maniacal laughter. Winter scratched her head.
“Looks like he’s got most things up and pacing the race. But I bet he could use some of those parts. Let’s get out of here before anyone says anything.”
Winter stopped and put her hands together and looked at the boy.
“There’s something you should know. We’re being tailed by a small cell of imperials who still think the Empire is alive and well. You might have to use that flashy laser silver stabby-wabby on your hip later on.
Elias shouted from the back.
“Don’t ask how we know that’s a lightsaber. We felt that things presence over yours. It’s got some lastpast yesteryear behind it. Anyways, we should go. Like right now.”
Winter rolled her peepers.
“Aye aye captain Elias. Let’s be on our way.”
Elias walked up to the cockpit covered in oil and grease stains. He winked at the boy, and smiled at Winter.
“Careful or I might get this on you. You know we can’t afford to be here longer than we have too. Frost is in his human containment unit, I put him down for a nap before I started grinding gears on the hyperdrive. He’s out for the count.”
