"I'm no… I haven't been to Hawaii, but I have seen pictures! It's quite beautiful. I don't blame you, that's a pretty color!"
He says happily. Now that he's already started a weird conversation, he'll keep it going.
"What about food? Do you have a favorite food?"
He asks her, trying to get to know her more, unfortunately, this was the only way he knew how. But it might come in handy sometime!
Beatriz laughs quietly. "Okay, this is sort of a weird one, but… I really love tortellini? Any italian food, really, but tortellini and garlic bread are the absolute best foods on the planet, no question," she informs him.
He chuckles a little before looking her in the eyes again.
"Heh… You'll have to let me try some sometime! They sound pretty good!"
He said smiling. He was cringing so hard at himself right now, but he was going to power through it.
"Okay, oh! So out of all of the places you have been… Which one was your absolute favorite."
He asks, a little worried he was asking to many questions.
CC watches a smile form on his face, butterflies in her stomach started to swirl. Diving underwater, just sitting there, CC held his hand. Gently, her skin was soft, just like her smile. Her hair, now completely wet, sitting on the floor underwater. Waiting for Maverick to come down to.
@Trix
(Sorry, I was sleeping.)
He swallows, shaking a bit as he realizes her intentions. He dips a little underwater. He hates the feeling with every fiber of his being. By the time his chin meets the shimmering surface, his entire form is violently trembling. Maverick's grip becomes a vice on CC's hand - a silent form of communication. He couldn't do this.
(Sorry the only reason I did that was because so much other dialogue was happening, and ours was on the last page. I didn't want you to think I forgot about it)
CC realized the trembling. Opening her eyes, she comes back up. Watching him tremble made her feel bad. She squeezed his hand, looking into his eyes. Tucking her hair behind her ears.
"Sorry…"
should we just walk to the beach? I really wanted to swim…but-
"Okay, let's just…go"
(No it’s fine)
“No… I don’t think I can go under yet,” his eyes glaze over. “But I can stay here.” Maverick gives her a gentle smile, still trying to shake off the fear and paranoia the water induced.
"N-No it's fine we can go! We can sit in the shade and just talk!"
She smiles at him, forgetting about everything, she just wanted to be with him right now… She didn't care where they were, or what they were doing. She just wanted to be with him. Standing up, pulling his hand, walking out of the water.
Akin to a child, Maverick stubbornly tugs her back. A small wave of water is sent CC’s way from his arm, alongside a smirk. “Nope. We’re staying in the water,” he insists almost adjusting to the feeling of water around him.
CC looks back, a little shocked, the suddenly falling forward in the water.
It was fun, splashing into the water from him pulling her back. Splashing back out of the water still holding his hand, laughing a little bit, wiping her hair out of her face. Opening her eyes, she was a lot closer to Maverick than she thought. Her face. Turned a bright red, droplets falling from her eyelashes. A tiny bit of white freckles appeared on her face.
She froze and felt like time was standing still.
He paused, too, now completely soaked from CC’s splash. Maverick was ignorant to her predicament, too busy admiring her blush. He figured he would never tire of it. Out of nowhere, he decided to flick a bit of water on her. A small revenge for his now drenched clothes.
CC was so captivated in Mavericks face, she almost jumped out of her skin when he splashed her.
Stepping back, then splashing him, laughing. Some part of her thought that something was going to happen. That feeling went away when he splashed her, but it was alright. She was enjoying this.
"Hey! Did you out sunscreen on?"
She said, remembering that she forgot to herself.
“No, and I really don’t want to interrupt this…” Maverick’s eyes gleam with challenge as he playfully shoved more water at CC. “But it’d probably be safer.”
"This is going to sound so cheesy," she sighs, "but I think Japan is my favorite. Other than the fact that it took me 7 years to learn the language, it's just been a really great experience. But Hawaii is a close second. The people there were ridiculously kind and respected all my boundaries," she said thoughtfully. "I don't know. One of those two."
Ryuu smiled, just thinking about taking a trip to Hawaii.
"that does sound nice… and yeah Japan is quite great. I forget how amazing it really is."
He says followed by a bright smile. The sun reflecting off of the clear water, it was truly beautiful.
CC laughs, splashing a little more water into Mavericks face.
"Yeah, we can get burnt together!"
She laughs, wiping more hair out of her face.
"Soooo….."
She says, floating on her back, her hair floating around the water looking as if it were a pillow.
"What do you wanna do after this?"
Her eyes closed as she floats around, it was so peaceful… she wished she could stay here forever.
Beatriz smiles, then leans back to do a backfloat. "This was more fun than I was expecting. We should do this again tomorrow," she suggests.
Ryuu surprised, a little bit of happiness lit up inside of him.
"Yeah!? I agree"
He said happily. He was hoping she'd say something like that. He hoped he would get a tan though. He really hates how he looked in a tan. People said he didn't look bad, if not a little better, but he still didn't like it.
"So… do you like to swim around, or just… stare at the floor?"
He said sounding like a tease followed by a chuckle
"I could actually treat you to dinner, this time," Maverick teases, flicking strands of hair out of his face. There was a carefree, loose happiness that bounced inside him, whenever he was with CC. Sometimes gut-wrenching but mostly happy, innocent.
CC snickered cutely before taking a breath and plunging down under with a mischievous smile.
Her white hair floating in the water, all around, glistening from the sunlight, penetrating the water's surface. Her eyes, looking around, all of the fish, coral, and the Sun. It was really beautiful, her speckled eyes, not to great of a contrast to the world around her, but it was still pretty. Her eyes not burning a bit when she opens them. She knew Maverick wouldnt come down. So she just took her time to admire the beauty around her, although wishing Maverick was in it. Looking around, seeing hills upon hills, covered in coral, just like houses. She wished Maverick wasn't afraid…. but everyone's afraid of something….
A sigh looses itself from Maverick. The little voice at the back of his head pipes up. Was that a yes? I hope she means yes…
CC swimming deeper in the water, looking as though shes gliding through it like a mermaid. The water so clear, you could see her from wear Maverick was if not farther. Turning around, shooting up to the surface, smiling at Maverick.
"OH I forgot to say yes"
She wiped the hair out of her face, she felt like she belonged here, she didn't of course. Her powers told her that themselves. They didn't work in water that well
what can you do
(BTW guys, this is a fantasy roleplay, so we should do more with that, like… soon, if not now.)
(Ohh… alright)
He felt free. With CC. On vacation, away from disappointment and expectations, living under himself and not a mask. It was oddly freeing - and here, restricted by one of his greatest fears, water… it was oddly freeing. To stand in water without worry, or fear. He looked at CC, a feeling blossoming through him. "I…" Hell to it. "I… I like…" The water around him felt like it was expanding, whirling. Pooling into an abyss of emotion, but suddenly Maverick's gut dropped. He remembered her denial at the beginning of a year. "I'd like that." The water halts, suddenly, and returned to it's natural tug of nature. But he didn't realize a thing. His eyes avert to the sky, unable to meet CC's gaze at the moment.
