He smiled lovingly at her, holding her close.

She placed a kiss on his collar before laying back beside him

He hummed softly at the kiss and rolled with her so he could keep his arms around her.

He smiled at her.

She barried her head in his chest

He chuckled a little and brought the covers over them.

She smiled

He smiled back and kissed her forehead.

" I need to wake up early tommorow" she said

”Alright, love.” he said softly. ”Get some sleep. I’ll be here when you wake up.”

She nodded closing her eyes

He kissed her forehead one more time, warming up a little for her comfort.

The next day Betty had been gone since 5 in the morning it was almost midnight and she wasn't back Tyler and Henry now at the house

Lysander had been calling her almost every two hours since noon. ”I should have asked why she had to leave early.” he said, a little frustrated. ”I was just so glad to hold her again… I didn't think.”

”Hey, calm down, Ly.” Henry told him. ”Honestly, though, do you think she would have told you if you asked?”

Betty had started doing plays and today was auditions for the musical Heathers which Tyler had tried out earlier in the day but forgot to tell Henry

Lysander glared a little at Henry. ”That’s beside the point. If I asked then it would have shown I was interested at least.” he argued.

”You dodged the question.” Henry pointed out.

Betty was excited she hadn't done a play since high school

”Henry, don't push it.” Lysander warned. ”The only time she doesn't answer that question is when she's worried about something and trying to keep her family safe.”

Henry raised a brow. ”She does know what we’ve already survived, right? We can hold our own.”

”Then why would she worry so much?” Henry asked.

”Because that’s just how she grew up!” Lysander nearly growled. ”You remember when that… selfish jerk who raised her came to the house to marry her off to someone else. Well, he always treated her like that. Like she wasn't important. Like she didn't matter to him. He didn't make her feel safe.” he almost ranted. ”The only ones who might have treated her better were her brothers.”

Tyler sighed shaking her head

”You don't agree with that?” Lysander asked Tyler, raising a brow at her.

" No I do" she said
