Mason nudged her. "Hey, Iris? If you want to be partners, I won't be the best help." He looked down at his hands. "Y'see, I haven't figured my power out yet. I don't even know if I have one!"
Mason nudged her. "Hey, Iris? If you want to be partners, I won't be the best help." He looked down at his hands. "Y'see, I haven't figured my power out yet. I don't even know if I have one!"
"Well, neither do I… they just told me I have a power, that's all," Iris replied sheepishly.
"Coool! I thought I was the only one!"
"Yeah, no you aren't, there's me," Iris laughed.
"I don't understand why no one in this damn school takes care of themselves," he grumbled as he passed Mr. Camillus' class, mop and bucket in tow. "You'd think with superpowers they'd be better at it, but no. They leave it to me."
Camillus paced to the door. "Do stop loitering in the hallway Jebodiah, you're interrupting my class." A rope shot from the floor and shut the door. "Right. Class. Enough talking. I need two volunteers to fight each other. Come." He walked to a back door and it opened to reveal the school stadium. "Right, go do that, please. I'll stop it if it gets out of hand, otherwise, don't hold back."
Iris raised a hand tentatively. "Sir, f-fight?" she asked. Fights had never been allowed at the schools she'd attended previously.
He blinked. "Yes, of course. F-fight. Miss Iris, you must understand that this school helps train Powerful kids to be even better. And prepares them for the future. Fighting is one of the main things taught in my class. Now someone start fighting!" He leapt onto a pedestal with a pillow on it and lay down, watching the group carefully.
She silently watched the situation, bored. A new student… interesting. although she doesn't know her power? Sucorra wished she didn't know hers; maybe that would prevent a lot of misfortune from happening to her.
"O-oh…" Iris lowered her hand. This was a strange school indeed.
"And to top it all off," Jeb growled to himself as he wheeled away from the cat's door, "I gotta take orders from a fucking cat."
Seeing no one else was volunteering, Sucorra sighed and got up, walking up to the stadium. This would probably end in the way all the others had due to her luck: with her losing. Although, she considered she might have a chance at winning if she were able to direct some misfortune on her opponent. She waited for another to volunteer, thinking up ways to get the upper hand in the meantime.
"Thank you Sucorra for doing something! Is anyone else going to do it or will I have to?" Camillus growled. He knew the students hated it when he joined in, he had more experience and almost always won.
(Is it too late to join?)
(nope! You can join any time!)
Iris shook her head. She might as well do some good ol' fashioned fighting the hard way. Standing up, she face Sucorra. "Let's do this then," and she relaxed her muscles, knowing that tense ones wouldn't do her any good.
"Thank you! Get on with it." He was actually excited to see this fight. He wanted to know what the new girl could do.
(Ok thanks!)
Iris sighed, and got into a stance and studied Sucorra. What was her power? She'd probably lose, though.

Evelyn ran towards first period. She was late- again- and Camillus wasn’t going to be happy, she burst into the classroom panting. “I’m here!” Her chipper voice sang out. She pushed a strand of strawberry blonde hair out of her face as she rushed to her seat.
She was facing the new girl. A slight advantage on both sides then, since the two didn't know each others power. So Sucorra had the element of surprise on her side, at least. Tilting her head to the side, she examined the girl. She didn't seem to know much about fighting, or been in many. Striking first, she reached out her hand which was now covered in a purple-black fog toward the girl. The fog immediately rushed to her, latching on. Sucorra smirked; the girl must have no idea what she just did. Now with her temporarily cursed with misfortune as well, they were both at a disadvantage.
