“Well you see…” Jasper said, rubbing the back of his neck, “I don’t play video games.”
“Well you see…” Jasper said, rubbing the back of his neck, “I don’t play video games.”
“Ok, then board game.” Aster shrugged.
“Chess.” Jasper smirked.
“Nice! I never really got how to play. It all goes in one ear and out the other.” Aster motioned to emphasize his point.
“Aww.” Jasper pouted.
“I’ve always wanted to learn, could you try to teach me?” Aster asked, “Maybe the reason I can’t learn it is because my mom’s the one trying to teach me.” Aster grinned.
“Oh, yay!” Jasper cheered, “When do you wanna learn?”
“Whenever, really.” Aster shrugged, “What’s most convenient for you?”
“When I’m done with my homework.”
“Ok! That works for me!” Aster smiled and put his hands on the side of the monkey bars. He slid down and swung around.
“You’re done?” Jasper asked.
“Uh, yeah…” Aster answered nervously, “I finished all my homework.” He lied, knowing he wasn’t convincing anyone.
“Aster, do your homework.”
“Fine.” Aster pouted. He reached his foot down and grabbed one of the backpack straps. He pulled himself up, twisting and sitting to face outside of the monkey bars, and grabbed his backpack. Aster returned to his original sitting position and opened his binder again. He pretended to rummage around in his backpack to find his pencil, even though he had found it and stuck it in his sleeve, “Crap, I can’t find my pencil, guess I can’t do my homework,” Aster shrugged.
“You can borrow mine.” Jasper said, unzipping his pencil pouch.
“Of course I can.” Aster pouted. He accepted the pencil and opened his binder to the English homework. He started to scribble some words down and threw in the required metaphors, personifications, and similes he needed to get a passing grade.
Jasper put away his math homework and took out his history homework, and blinked at it. He was terrible at history. “Hey Aster, are you any good at history?”
“Yeah~! Totally~!” Aster bluffed.
“… I’m going to taste that as a no.” Jasper said, sticking his tongue out, “I’m going to call my friend then.”
Aster frowned, “So I’m not your friend?” He joked and stuck his tongue out.
“My other friend.” Jasper sighed mockingly, a smile tugging on his lips, he scrolled through his contacts.
“I guess that’s alright.” Aster smiled. He scrawled a few more words on his English paper and called it good.
“Hello? Heyyy Andyyyy, my smart friend.” Jasper said into the phone, smiling and looking at his homework, “Please help me with my history homework.”
Aster shoved his English homework and took out his History. He watched Jasper and waited.
“Thank youuuu.” Jasper said, tapping his pencil on his homework, “So um, when did the French Revolution happen? Mmmk…” Jasper quickly wrote July 14, 1789 on his homework.
And this process continued till he got every single problem done.
“Thanks, Bye Andyyyy.” Jasper grinned before hanging up.
