“Ok.” Aster nodded and set his bishops next to the knights.
“Ok.” Aster nodded and set his bishops next to the knights.
“And then the prized queen and king.” Jasper grinned, holding up the two pieces. “The Queen can go in any direction for and distance. The king can go in any direction but on one space.”
“Cool! I’m guessing they go on these two squares?” Aster pointed to the two empty spots in the first row.
“Yep. Oh and I forgot to mention, all the other pieces can’t jump over another piece, only the knight can.”
“Oh, cool!” Aster beamed. He looked at the king and queen, “Uh… which piece goes where?” Aster asked.
“King goes here,” Jasper said, placing the king down, “and queen right there.”
“Alright.” Aster mirrored Jasper, unknowingly putting the king and queen in the wrong places.
“Wrong place, Sweetie. Switch them.” Jasper chirped.
“Oh, ok!” Aster switched the king and queen.
“On the first move, the pawn can go two or one spaces, but only on the first move. The rest are just one, and when a pawn ‘eats’ another piece, it has to be diagonal.”
“Right.” Aster nodded his head.
“I’m pretty sure I forgot a lot of things…”
“It’s fine! I’ll probably figure it out as we go along.”
“Alright, you start first since your pieces are ivory.”
“Oh, ok.” Aster took his pawn farthest to the right and moved it two spaces.
Jasper did the exact same thing.
(Are we going to write down all their chess moves.. .-.)
(Lol I don’t want to but we can if you want XD)
Aster took his knight and moved it somewhere where it’s a legal move.
(Lol no it's fine. xD)
Jasper smirked and moved his rook.
(Should we just jump to when someone wins or what…? I don’t know about you but I gotta see the board to play it :P)
(Lol yeet. So who shall win? .-.)
(Probably Jasper since Aster has no idea what he’s doin :P)
(Okieee.)
“Checkmate.” Jasper smirked.
“Dang it, you win.” Aster sighed, “I did expect you to win, but I’m still mad at myself for not winning.” Aster laughed.
“Don’t be, watching you play was watching a baby deer learning how to walk.”
(SHALL WE KEEP GOING?!?!)
