Conner would occasionally glance over at Mark dancing with Eve. "Forget it, sorry." He walked away from the girl he was dancing with and got another drink. "Why did I have to fall first?" A beer was put in front of him. "Girl troubles, especially with Eve. Yeah she's a tough one." He looked up at the man behind the bar. "You should probably give up. It never works between human and demons, I've seen first hand." Conner laid his head on the counter. "Thanks for crushing any hopes I've had till now." He chugged his drink and sat there watching Eve dance with Mark.
Eve watched Connor out of the corrnor of her eye. "Hey lets go back to the bar" she said tugging mark along. "Hey!" She shouted over the music. "What happened to you?" She asked slidding up next to Connor.
"I just got tired." I should stop drinking before I say something stupid. "How was your dance?" He nodded to the dance floor. something stupid like that. Conner waved his hand. The bartender shook his head. Conner didn't know if he meant that he said something stupid or that he should give up, probably both.
"Tired already? What about that dance you wanted though?" Eve said teasing in her voice. Mark narrowed his eyes at Connor. It seemed like neither of them liked each other very much. "Come oooon" she said tugging on his arm.
Conner saw the frustration in Mark's face, and it sparked something in him. He was amused. "Alright, let's go." He stood and took her hand, it felt nice to hold her hand. Idiot no, don't think those things. He pulled her close and moved to the music. "Sorry I'm being such a downer right now."
"No its cool dude. I get it" Eve smiled a slight pink rushing to her cheeks. "So be honest, how much have you had to drink?" She asked laughing slightly.
"About four drinks. So my head is spinning a bit but it's not to bad." He laughed with her. "I'm definitely going to have a hangover." He spun her under his arm. "You look beautiful by the way" Conner looked over at Mark to see his reaction.
"Pfft, wow okay. Just don't get totally hammered." Eve laughed a little when Connor spun her. She was actually having a good time, believe it or not.
Mark seemed to glare their way, unhappy with Connor and how he seemed to make Eve happy.
Conner couldn't help but smirk at Mark's glare. "Yeah, I don't think I'll be drinking anymore." He smiled down at her. "I'm just glad no one has tried to eat me." That Mark guy must have a think for Eve, its totally obvious. "How long have you and Mark known each other?"
"Huh? Uh. A few years." Eve shrugged. She'd only met mark because he tried to eat the last human that tried to get her to fall for him. "Yeah. Our story is….intsting. And for another time." She glanced over to see marks glare.
"That's fine, I was just curious." The song ended and he bowed to Eve. "Thabk you for the the dance, princess." He smirked. He knew she hated being called that, and so he teased her. "I'm going to get some water."
"Uh-huh. I can still kick your butt tomorrow!" Eve narrowed her eyes at him before going back to the bar to sit with mark. "Don't even think about it" she said to him. She knew he was planning something agents Connor.
"One water please." The bartender handed him a drink. "Hey." The girl he first danced with came up and sat with him. "Oh, um, hi." He took a sip of water before turning back to Eve. He didn't really trust any of the demons here besides Eve. "You guys have cool music here."
Eve kept an eye on Connor while she talked with mark, "try something. I dare you" all mark did in response was give a small laugh and say, "and who's to say I'm already planning something?" His eyes dangerous. She knew not to trust him. "So Connor!" She said turning back to him. "Having a good time so far?"
"Oh, yeah. You demons throw some good parties." Conner took another drink, while the girl next to him glared at Eve. "So, Conner your human?" She lightly touched his arm and he jerked away. "Sorry, but please don't touch me." All he could remember was Izzy, the other girl demon he met when he first got here.
Eve returned the girls glare slightly not wanting to seem jealous. what's gotten into me? she wondered returning her gaze to mark.
"And why can't I touch you?" The girl seemed genuinely surprised that he would say that, like no guy has turned her down before. "Becuse this is my body and I don't want you to touch me, then don't." He snapped back. "I'm Rain." Conner was confused as to why she was now introducing her. "Are all demon girls besides you this way?" He whispered to Eve.
Eve held back a snort. mostly. she thought to herself. Her glare finding its way to this so called 'Rain' once again. Eve sat there impatiently ready to go, but she didn't want to ruin Connors fun by being a downer. Insted she let her mind wonder back to her sister.
"So Conner want to finish our dance?" Conner was extremely uncomfortable with this girl. She reminded him of Izzy, the demon girl that tried to kill him and left a scar on his shoulder. "No thanks. This girl." He pointed to Eve with his thumb. "Is the only one I'll dance with." Rain stood up and stormed off.
(Ha…stormed off. Sorry its just it looks like a pun. Uuuugh, sorry my sense of humor sucks.😂)
Eve gave the girl a little wicked grin then stood. "Its late. I'm bored. Can we go?" She asked though she could have just left. After all she was the one driving. But she wouldn't do that to Connor, maybe. Mark caught her arm, "leaving already?" He asked a bit disappointed. "Um yes. Now let go" she pulled her arm from his grasp and stood just out of his reach. "Ready Connor?"
(I didn't even notice that until now haha!)
"Yeah." He glared down at Mark. Conner laid his arm around her shoulder and led her out. "Are you okay?" He knew she probably was but asking never hurt. "I'm not going to lie, I don't like Mark much."
"Yeah I'm fine. Mark has character I'll give him that much. Also, I don't think anyone likes him that much." Eve brushed it off but left her face go a bit red when Connor put his arm around her, what is wrong with me? she wondered.
Conner removed his arm and got in the car. "So, are we just going back your place?" He rises an eyebrow at her. "Or are there more fun places around here?" He didn't really want to go back to the castle, but he definitely didn't want to go back in there where Mark was ready to bite his head off.
"This is hell, the only fun places would be considered fun to demons. Not so much humans like yourself." Eve sat in the car. "Any fun human games we could try?" The last one she'd lost. But that didn't mean it wasn't any fun.
"How a about keep away?" He didn't know if she knew what that was, so explaining it was probably the best choice. "So we have one object and we have to try and take it from each other and not let the other have it. We could put a timer on and the person holding it when the timer goes off wins and can make the other person do what ever they want like last time." Doing that always made it more fun to play.
