"I can understand that. Not that I'm a fairy or fae myself but still. I can imagine that you'd want to keep that kind of information to yourself if you don't have to say something."

Charlotte nodded, smiling at him. “Thank you. I’m glad that you can understand.” she said sincerely.

Cyrus just shrugged with a smile. Rodney nudged Charlotte softly. "Ready to head out for our shopping spree?"

“I wasn't sure it was a shopping spree,” she teased, giggling. “But yes, I'm ready.” she nodded.

Rodney swatted at her gently with a smile and a roll of his eyes. "Oh hush." Cyrus just laughed at the two and stepped aside. "Well, I'll get out of your way for now. Seems like you're pretty busy. Have fun though, this town is pretty interesting."

Charlotte laughed at Rodney's action, dodging his hand. “Thank you, Cyrus. I'm sure we will. We’ll see you later.” she smiled at him.

Cyrus nodded with a smile as Rodney headed out the door. "He was nice. I can see why he's on the main staff."

Charlotte nodded. “Yeah. He's very nice. Though he's not much of a morning person.” she giggled. “He was practically half asleep when I came down.”

"Hey, you can't blame the guy. I know a lot of people who hate working the opening shift. Not all of us like early mornings, Char." Rodney chuckled.

Charlotte giggled, nodding. “I know that and I don't blame him either. I've dealt with my fair share of grumpy morning customers.”

"Haven't we all? Luckily, I'm never one of them. Because I'm either up with the sun or not awake in the morning whatsoever." He laughed.

“I noticed.” she smiled teasingly. “I've never seen you sleep so hard before. It looked like you were going to stay in bed all day.”

"Listen, I don't get to sleep in an actual bed all that often. So when I do, I crash hard. And if given the opportunity, I probably would stay in bed all day."

She looked up at him with a smirk. “Except for at my inn. When you had to leave early to avoid… more trouble.” she trailed off, shaking her head. “But I'm not judging you. I've been pretty comfortable when we camped outside but being in a real bed my size again was really nice.”

"Exactly. I only sleep for as long as I have to. It's just that sometimes that time is a lot longer than others. Most of the time it isn't though."

“That must be useful. To be fully rested and wake up when you need to.” she sighed softly. “I don't know if I'd be able to wake up in the middle of the night or something if I needed to.”

"Ah, you'll learn. We all do at some point. Believe me, you learn to teach your body to be on your time and not its own. It's not exactly easy but it gets done."

Charlotte looked up at him, a little hopeful that she might learn like he said. “And how long does it take to actually learn that?” she asked.

"That depends on the person, honestly. For me, it took about five or six months? And that was from doing it constantly after I left home. I've known people who can do it in a couple months, I've known people who take years to get it. And I've known some who have never gotten it."

“Well, hopefully I do get it and don't end up in that last group.” she giggled. “Though… I’m afraid it might take me a couple months or longer to get it. The only times I ever woke up that early was when I had a nightmare.”

"Well hopefully it doesn't come to that. Like I said, some people get it faster than others. Some never do. Bodies adjust differently across individuals."
