Vaughn noticed that Kaz was awake, and he immediately sat up, rubbing at his face with his hands. “Can’t fucking believe this,” he muttered to himself as his head throbbed sharply from a hangover. He couldn’t grasp what he had been thinking at the time. Hell, he could barely remember what happened when they actually did do it, just bits and pieces.
Kaz flopped over on the bed next to him as Vaughn sat up. There was faint light streaming through the windows, and it just made his headache that much worse. He rubbed at his eyes, trying to somehow help the headache go away. What the hell had happened? How had-oh. He glanced down at himself and felt immediate shame and panic set in. Flashes of the night before were starting to make their way through his brain, and he grimaced
Vaughn gave a slight curse and reached down, grabbing a towel from a small, neatly folded pile that was beside his bed. He got up, wrapping it around his waist. He muttered something about getting a shower before going into the bathroom and shutting the door behind him. He turned the water so it was burning hot and got in. He grimaced at the heat, but didn’t turn it down. He took a deep, shuddering breath, running a hand through his hair as he did so. What the hell did I just do?
Kaz scowled down at himself. God, he was an idiot. He went and ruined whatever relationship he had with Vaughn before they had known each other a week. He reached down, grabbing his boxers off of the floor and slipping them on before finding a sink and toweling himself off. He walked around the mini mart, picking up the loose articles of clothing that had been flung onto the floor. He set Vaughn's in a neat pile on the cot before digging a cigarette out of his jacket. He walked outside, leaning against the building before taking a puff of the cigarette
Vaughn picked up a wash rag, pouring a bit of soap onto it before scrubbing at his skin in a rough matter. There was nothing wrong with Kaz, absolutely nothing. He just felt dirty, and disgusted with himself. He hadn’t done anything like that in a long time, got drunk and hooked up with someone, and he hated himself for it. What a terrible first impression he thought. After he was finished washing his body and hair clean, his skin felt raw and it stung slightly. But the pain took his mind off of the right before. Though he couldn’t get the image, or sound, of Kaz moaning out of his mind, no matter how hard he tried. He got out of the shower and stepped out of the bathroom, towel around his waist again. He looked at his folded clothes with a scowl before grabbed one of his nicer sets of clothes and slipping those on.
Kaz rubbed at his eyes, one hand wrapped around himself. It was cold, and he hadn't bothered putting his hoodie or jacket back on. He didn't mind, really, and some small part of him told him he should be doing far worse things to himself by now. He scowled, taking another drag of his cigarette, looking up at the sky as he did. God, he couldn't do anything right, and this was just more proof of it
Vaughn stepped out into the front area, glancing around. He didn’t see Kaz anywhere inside, but did notice a form that was standing outside. He ran a hand through his hair, combing the long strands from his face a few times before giving up and letting them fall into his eyes. He pushed pulled open the front door and stepped out, looking at Kaz with his arms folded. “It’s cold. Come inside and get something to eat,” he said, tone suggesting that he wasn’t looking to argue on it.
Kaz almost jumped in surprise. He turned to Vaughn, eyes wide. You can already tell he's going to kick you out, his mind spat. He was going to use you and leave you just like everyone else. He shook his head a little, trying to clear the thoughts from his mind. He dropped his cigarette, smothering it with the heel of his boot before nodding and walking back inside
Vaughn followed Katz inside, his eyes narrowed slightly at his back. He’s ignoring you, ignoring what happened the whispers taunted. “Why aren’t you staying anything?” He asked, tone a bit more sharp than he meant.
(it autocorrected to Katz again lmao)
Kaz turned around, gulping at the tone of Vaughn's voice. He's gonna kill you, he's going to flay you alive, something that sounded like an angrier version of his own voice hissed at him. You should fry him now and run. You'd be doing the world a favor, it spat. He folded his arms tightly around himself, his lungs feeling a little tight. "I…I thought you would have kicked me out by now.”
(God dammit, and I’m back)
“Why would I have done that?” Vaughn asked in a low tone, a heavy frown on his features as he spoke. There was a strange expression on Kaz’s face that made him tense, hand going to his hip in a cautious way. But of course he didn’t have his gun on him. It was out of habit.
“I…I don’t know. I just expected you to because it’s what everyone does,” he said quietly, staring down at the ground in front of his feet
Vaughn looked down at Kaz with a sharp gaze, hands falling back to his sides. “I’m not an asshole like you might believe me to be. If I wanted you out, I would have told you to leave. But I haven’t,” he said.
Kaz winced a little at the time of Vaughn’s voice. He’s angry, he’s just going to wait for you to trust him before he slits your throat, his mind hissed. Didn’t you see the way he went for his gun? If he had it he would have shot you happily. Kaz sighed, rubbing at his eyes. “I…I know you’re not an asshole, I just…God, I don’t know.”
“You keep giving me these looks that say otherwise,” Vaughn said, a hand reaching out and running through Kaz’s hair before gripping at the strands. He remembered the feeling then of Kaz’s hands in his hair, the pleasure he felt from it. “Want to tell me what’s on your mind?”
Kaz looked up at him. God, he was feeling so many different things right now. Fear? Yes. Anxiety? Absolutely. But something else seemed to be welling up inside him, something affectionate. Something desperately needing Vaughn. Without thinking he leaned forward, pressing his lips to Vaughn’s gently
Vaughn grew stiff, not moving at all for a moment. Shove him into the shelf behind him, Finley. Bash his head in the whispers hissed. But he couldn’t. Instead, he did move Kaz against a self, but in a more careful way as he began yo kiss the demon back.
Kaz wrapped his arms around Vaughn, holding him close while they kissed. It somehow felt so much better to kiss him like this, to know it wasn’t just the alcohol talking. The thought eased his anxiety a little, and the voice at the back of his mind shut up abruptly
(Ack gonna have to leave to get food in a bit)
(When you suddenly realize you have 5 minutes till your next exam RIP)
Vaughn held Kaz’s hips, head tilting as he kissed deeper. He was getting excited, hands feeling at Kaz’s skin as he kissed. He was filled with lust, and that made him wonder if that’s all he felt. Was he just lusting after Kaz to use him, or did he actually feel something more? He wasn’t sure. Emotions were terrible things.
(It’s all good, I got exams anyways)
(nvm my stomach just did a U turn so I'm not gonna eat lol)
Kaz groaned softly into the kiss, deepening it. He was desperate, desperate to do something so Vaughn wouldn't leave him. Even if the other man was just using him and was going to get rid of him later, he would make sure every moment was an enjoyable one
