Dawn steeled her nerves and walked through the shocked crowd. She walked right up to Aleksai, "You better watch your back Aleksai. Because you have just made me very angry."
(I know I could write Aleskai's response, but that just wouldn't feel right for me.)
Aleksai smiled kindly and ruffled the girls hair, "Don't you see that I'm your salvation?"
"I would die before I say those words about you," Dawn snarled at him.
"You don't know what you're saying." Aleksai called over some men. "Why don't you stay with us for a while? Maybe I can change your mind."
('Blushes' Aw shucks.)
Shaaru scrambled to find a hidden place as Angry People in the town started heading that way. One could never guess how they'd react to him. A girl suddenly came running out of the village. She barreled right into him.
"Nah," Dawn shrugged, "I'm out of here."
She sprinted off towards the village exit.
Marya apologized, a little breathless and looked up at the man, questioning his appearance. Was he a fish hybrid? She'd never seen one before.
"I'd love to stay and chat, but I have to go."
"Nah," Dawn shrugged, "I'm out of here."
She sprinted off towards the village exit.
Aleksai's smile darkened. "I want tabs on her, now." the men nodded and headed back, going through the files until they found Dawn's.
"Where?" he asked, the human language harsh in his mouth.
"My home." Marya really didn't have time for this right now. Luka, he was a human. She needed to protect him, even though he wasn't technically her brother. And the files, oh the files! She needed to hide them before the Lenski's searched the buildings. Any evidence of resistance would be punished. Marya knew that. She knew it well.
Dawn ran into Marya and a weird human fish-thing on her way out of town. She greeted them, "Hey there!"
Shaaru hissed at the appearance of another human, startled.
Marya stepped back, images of the home burning penetrating her mind. "Hi Dawn," she mumbled, kicking at the snow.
"Hey Marya, and I'm not going to hurt you fish thing," Dawn attempted to calm the startled fish thing, "And Marya you better get rid of the resistance files soon. I bought you some time, but still it needs to get done."
(Hey, can Dawn and Marya be in the same organization?)
"Dawn, we can't talk about that in public." Marya shot a glance at the fish-boy.
(Of course!)
"Yeah well," Dawn looked at her, "If it doesn't happen soon we're all going to be outed so."
"I am Shaaru. Not fish thing." He muttered. " You have a resistance?"
"Sorry Shaaru," Dawn looked at him, "And why do you ask?"
"No, we don't." Marya glared at Dawn, her brown eyes as sharp as the rocks that crash against the sea.
"You need to stop lying."
"Yeah," Dawn shrugged, "Compulsory habit."
"Because you talk of resistance files." He stated. "So you must have a resistance."
"Resistance against the warming of Proxal's atmosphere." Marya shot another glare at Dawn. "Bakarne's just not going to be happy that Dawn revealed that we need to hide our files because of a surprise rally."
"Yeah, yeah," Dawn waved her hand, "Let's go Marya, it's time for me to face Bakarne's wrath. See ya Shaaru!"
"Those Angry People are closer." Shaaru observed, following them. "Why are they angry?"
