Backstory: Used to be extremely prejudiced towards non-magicals. Spoiled rotten and raised as royalty. Raised believing she was full-blooded Faerie, but after a compulsory blood test was found to be human. The Faeries cast her out in disgust. She's been on the run ever since, until she joined the resistance against Aleksai.
Opinion towards Aleksai: Slightly fascinated by him, wants to learn more about him, but is opposed to his extremist viewpoints.

Marya walked down the main road, hands in her pockets as she kicked at the snow. The small houses were bursting with light and warmth and she was hoping that Bakarne would have some hot chocolate when she came back. The thought of Bakarne brought up memories of Luka and she smiled in spite of herself, wondering when he would stop acting so childish and start acting like an adult, because he was one. 26 and still as immature as he was when he was 15.
Marya wrapped her arms around herself, wondering if she should've worn something other than overalls and a striped long-sleeve shirt because it was cold. The sound of boots crunching down on the snow broke her train of thought. Nononononononono. Not right now. Marya broke into a run, slamming the door of her home open. She'd interrupted Bakarne just as she was serving dinner to the others. Cheeks red and hair all over, Marya announced the news.
"Aleksai's here."

Sophia wrapped her blanked tighter around herself, shivering despite her well-heated apartment. Her eyes trailed to the mantel, where pictures stood, and she held back tears.

Dawn was walking around the village, a small flame in the palm of her hand to ward off any cold. She watched as Marya ran into her home. Curious why she ran into her home, Dawn walked toward the home.

Lau ducked from corner to corner, keeping her hood over her face. Pulling her cloak tighter around her nose, she squinted through the drifts of snow towards the hazy outline of the tavern. Shivering, she moved quickly, ducking into the building.

Bakarne set down the plate and Luka stepped up from the table, eyes wide.
"Clear every piece of evidence of treachery to the crown. Aleksai's definitely going to search the houses." Marya ordered and Luka rushed off to do as she said. Marya grabbed her shawl, throwing it over her shoulders and heading off, with Bakarne behind her.

North sensed that something was wrong. She looked out her window and saw Aleksai's men. She turns into an ice wolf and sprints outside.

Dawn watched as Marya and Bakarne walked out of the house, "What's going on?"

Outside the tavern, there seemed to be some commotion. Lau tensed, preparing for the worst.

North sprints to where all the commotion is and turns into an ice tiger. baring her teeth.

Aleksai got down from his steed, "Show me your leader." he stood tall, men flanking his sides and waited until Klara, the mayor, made her way to his front.
"I will never surrender."
"That's what they all say, madame mayor." he knelt down and smiled.
Klara balled up her fists and glared at Aleksai, even though she was an old, tiny woman, she had fire in her eyes.
Aleksai continued to talk, "Madame mayor, the choice is simple. If you relinquish your town to us, no one will die. If you don't, well," he grinned, "I see blood in your village's future."
Klara shivered, "You wouldn't do that."
"I would. Get down on your knees and show me some respect," he smiled, "Now. This is for your protection, Klara. I'm here to save your souls. And cleanse some of them completely."
Klara got down on her knees, wrinkled hands trembling as she bowed.
"I'll need the documentation of all the non-magicals in this village by tomorrow morning." Aleksai waved her off and Klara rushed to her office, biting on her lip.

Clothing: wears a shirt and shorts. (His species doesn't generally wear clothes.)
Backstory: Was kidnapped at a young age and displayed as an oddity in some towns where other species weren't considered anything more than beasts. Escaped and currently goes from lake to lake (or any kind of body of water) trying to find his family.
Opinion of Aleksai: Believes he is wrong, but can't do anything about it so he comes off as neutral.
