Lilac looked up towards the rest of the group. “Guys, we should find a place to stay ASAP…Mori’s been awfully quiet and it’s worrying me,” she said as Luka nodded in agreement. “Plus, we all need to take a break,” the younger Rose added.

@Becfromthedead group

"There? Is that the hospital Aspen was talking about?" Tohru asked, "We should be able to hunker down in there. And with any luck, find some supplies as well."
Lis shrugged.
"Maybe, but regardless of where we settle, we need to be prepared to fight our way through."

@EtherealDreamer

Aspen nodded in agreement, her grip on her baseball bat so tight, her knuckles were turning white.

"this is the hospital I got my medical supplies from, last time I was here was about a couple weeks ago, and there were still a lot of supplied left, ranging from ointments to actual shit nurse's put in IV's for patients" she said to everyone.

@Luz_Noceda

Bean wrapped her arm around Aspen’s as she looked around. “It’s so empty here…” she muttered, sighing. Luka nodded in agreement, holding onto Kas as he walked. Lilac also nodded. “We should head inside.”

@EtherealDreamer

Aspen nodded in agreement and stepped in through the entrance, holding the door for everyone else,because she may seem like a bitch sometimes, but she's still a gentleman.

Once everyone was in she got back in her place in the back of the group, gripping her bat, she said "the supplies are on the top floor, there's stairs and an elevator, then once we get up we turn left into the left wing and in a room on the right, I think its the 5th, there's a whole room full of shelves with medical supplies, and meds."

@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah, well I doubt that elevator is working," Tohru sighed, "But um… not everyone has to come up, really."
"Ru, do you want to stay here with those who probably shouldn't be climbing stairs right now then?" Lis suggested.
He shrugged. "Sure, sure. Unless someone else would rather, I'll keep watch down here."

@Luz_Noceda

“I’m not going without my siblings,” Bean crossed her arms. She didn’t want to be separated again…not after everything that happened. Luka and Lilac nodded in agreement. Luka was carrying Kas and probably couldn’t climb the stairs. Lilac, meanwhile, could go up but she didn’t want to yet.

@Fraust

Kas stirred a bit and opened his eyes, looking around tiredly. "Mmm…? Did we make it?" He asked, his voice slightly hoarse and slow from sleep. Mori still hadn't spoken, and he wasn't looking around either. He just kept blankly staring.

Earl rubbed his eyes. He hadn't had rest in a few days, or at least good rest.
"I can stay down here with them. It'll be something to distract me." He sat on one of the steps.
"Unless you want me up here."

Rachel shrugged. "I'll go up with ya'll. I'm pretty good with exploring."

@Becfromthedead group

"Okay, I think I'll stay down here with Earl and the others. I'm… I'm exhausted…" Tohru sighed, "Maybe scan the floor a bit, make sure it's safe."
Lis started towards the stairs.
"We can always collect more later if we need," Lis said, "We’re staying here at least for the night."

@EtherealDreamer

Aspen looked around and raised her hand quietly, as if she were a student in class, as she spoke lowly

"Uh i can go up to, its just my mom worked here up on the top floor and I wanted to see if there's anything left in there, worth taking, and she taught me some stuff, I'll probably be able to guide you around, tell you what we need, and for what"

she said, hugging herself with her arms, her body was cold, and she gave a shiver, the hospital looked the same as when her mom had worked there, but it had that dark, cold feeling to it.

@ZephirFox8812

Levi shivered and raised his hand awkwardly from next to Tohru. "I can go up too," He offered. He wasn't injured, a bit tired but awake enough to walk up a staircase.

@Becfromthedead group

"Okay, be careful, guys," Tohru said, "It seems pretty quiet here, but still…"
Lis waved a hand. "I think we've got it. You guys hold down the fort here, yeah?"
She slipped around the corner and started going up the staircase.
"Hey, Aspen, you said all the way up, yeah?"

Meanwhile, Tohru was pacing the hallway a bit, his eyes scanning over the old spatters of blood on the walls and the dust settled over the floors. He ran a hand through his hair, feeling quiet and pensive. Must've been hell being at this hospital at the start of the apocalypse. Was this perhaps where Aspen's mom died?

@ZephirFox8812

Levi followed Lis up the stairs, his eyes flicking around at everything they passed. "This is terrifying." He said, climbing a bit faster to walk next to Lis. "How far up does it go?" He asked, leaning over the banister to look up at the gaps between the staircases.

@Tactic_Mode

Rachel followed, thinking about Aspen's comment.
"So, your mom worked here, eh? What was it like?" She asked, tying to keep up conversation. She uncomfortable with silence.
Silence bugged her. Rachel always needed some sort of noise to do anything. Silence made her uneasy, scared, even.

Earl rubbed his eyes again. They felt like blast doors. Heavy, nearly impossible to keep open.
"Fuck, I need some sleep. A night in a tent is what I need." He muttered.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru kept walking down the hall, within sight of the others. He let out a deep sigh. This was a lot, but at least they were better sheltered for now.
He looked at the doors to different rooms down the hall. Most of them were firmly shut, and those that weren't, he cautiously checked before wandering into another waiting area. In one of the chairs sat a young man, slumped over. But he had to be newly dead-
The young man jolted a bit when he heard Tohru enter, turning his neck stiffly to face him. Panic rose in Tohru’s throat when he saw the state of his skin, dying, peeling away, gone gray. What wasn't necrotic was ashen in color. His pupils were dilated, the black leaving only the thinnest ring of blue around them. He would probably start turning soon.
"Please… help…" he muttered, "Kill… me…"
He coughed weakly.
Tohru shuddered and took out his gun. Looking down the barrel, he felt his throat tighten up, and his vision blurred with tears.
His aim was shaky to begin with.
And that's when it all crashed over him. The very memories he'd been trying to avoid were bubbling to the surface.
He remembered the way Noah had last looked at him before Tohru had shot him in the head. Sure, it was a better fate than becoming a zombie, but the idea that he could've done something, that his love's death was technically his fault- it was overwhelming.
"I can't…" Tohru whispered, his voice breaking, then raising into a terrified shriek, "I can't!"
His gun clattered to the ground, and he fell into uncontrollable sobbing.

As they got to the top floor, Lis was humming to herself, bouncing on her toes a little bit.
"Seems pretty quiet here, so that's good. I hope there's still some supplies left."

@Luz_Noceda

The siblings sat down but then Bean heard sobbing from down the hall. She walked down and noticed Tohru and a strange man. “T-Tohru! Are you okay?!” she cried, rushing to him. She noticed the gun on the floor and turned to face the stranger. It took a couple minutes before she realized what was going on. She fell silent.

@Fraust

Kas looked up when he heard a muffled shriek from another room, seeming very confused. "What's going on…? Is someone hurt again?" He asked. Mori's breathing hitched and he clung tighter to Lilac.

@Becfromthedead group

(Yeah :( I've been kinda hinting at what happened before, but I thought it was time to bring it forward)
Tohru sat down in one of the chairs nearby.
"Not again… I can't do this again…" he whispered to Bean, his voice sounding broken.
He buried his head in his hands, his shoulders heaving with more sobs.
The infected young man in front of them started coughing again, his body folding over a bit with the force of the coughing. Blood was streaked all over his face and hands.
