(awwwww bby rose siblings-)
Tohru was a little taken aback.
"Yeah, I do. I'd already moved out. I haven't even seen them since…"
He gestured at their general vicinity.
"Since all this happened."
He figured he'd leave out the part where he ignored their pleas to come home, to help them.
"So, it's been a while. But I don't think I'll look for them. I don't know if I could, even if I wanted to. I was traveling with friends before I met you."
Mori nodded a bit, toying with a lock of his hair. He decided against asking what had happened to Tohru's friends; he was young, and naive at times, but he knew the world he lived in. He could assume what had happened. "That makes sense… I'm not sure why I don't remember my parents, though. Everybody else seems to remember their own. Do you think this will ever be over?" He asked softly. "I dunno how we're gonna get rid of the zombies if they just keep turning new people…"
Lilac nodded, looking away as she ate. Luka was holding his injured sister up, which wasn’t easy to do since Hailey was slightly bigger than him, and Bean was leading them through.
(Poor babies-)
Bean, Luka, and Hailey would be traveling through a dense forest, on an old hiking trail. The foliage was wild and overgrown, seeping onto the dirt path. Trees of ash and beech rose up on either side, with the occasional dogwood with its white and pink blooms.
"Anyway," Lyn said as she ate, "I want to stay here for the day. We'll head out tomorrow morning."
The glint in Josefine's eye came back. "Ooooh, I want to something fun for once."
"Don't you always find some way to do something fun? You looked like you were having tons of fun when you smacked that one zombie with your skateboard."
Josefine laughed. "I meant, ya know, without the threat of death."
It was almost strange how the tenseness from a few moments ago had dissolved. But they had learned it was better that way, to let go of things quickly.
"I think… I think we'll figure out a way one of these days," Tohru replied, "It's not like people turn quickly anyway. Surely there's a way to stop the spread."
He chuckled.
"We just need to stay alive until then, yeah?"
Lilac looked up at Lyn. “B-But what if my siblings come…?!” She looked panicked. “I don’t want them to look so hard only to not find me!”
(who did she look at?)
(Lyn)
(Tohru ends up in charge of all these kids and is like "I. Am going to Perish.")
(Lol yeah)
Lyn looked up, a little concerned by Lilac's expression and tone of voice. "You think they'll come?"
"They probably heard about this place too," Josefine pointed out. "They could probably be making their way here. Unless of course…"
"You're so cynical, Sef!"
"What?" she smirked. "The things I said were anything but cynical, minha amiga."
"But what you were going to say was." Lyn gave her a weary look.
"And how do you know what I was going to say?"
Lyn found herself laughing. "Well, it's obvious to me." The laughing died. "But I'm not going to say it, because we don't want to talk or think like that."
Don't you think like that all the time? Josefine thought to herself.
(poor Tohru, he's gonna be a tired dad)
Lilac nodded, “Of course they’ll come! Bean will do anything to protect the others and there’s a chance they’ve heard of this place!” she smiled slightly.
Lilac was right. Her siblings were on their way right now and Bean was excited about seeing her little sister again.
(Lyn has a whole job of makin sure Sef doesn't say the words death or eaten alive and keeping her family friendly lol)
(Tohru teaches the children to say "fuck")
(Bold of you to assume Lilac doesn’t curse)
(Ah yes, a student teacher)
"I think… I think we'll figure out a way one of these days," Tohru replied, "It's not like people turn quickly anyway. Surely there's a way to stop the spread."
He chuckled.
"We just need to stay alive until then, yeah?"
"Yeah, I guess so… maybe we can find some kinda vac… vax…" Mori stumbled through his words a bit, trying to find the right pronunciation. "Vaccine! We could find one of them so that we can fix people who get turned!" He smiled a bit, childish hope still lingering within him despite the dire situation.
(oh man Mori I love you-)
They both smiled at her. They had heard quite a fair bit about the other Rose siblings and didn't really doubt Lilac's words. Truthfully, it would be exciting to meet new kids to know them, at least to Josefine. Lyn wasn't really sure about how she felt about it.
"Okay," Lyn said. "We can wait for them."
"I really hope so," Tohru agreed.
It wasn't completely impossible, though the solution probably wouldn't be a vaccine. Either way, he was going to let the kid have his hope. He quite envied it himself.
With that, they approached the outpost. Tohru could see the outlines of other people there. It was a relief to say the least.
When the three kids finally reached the outpost, Luka cried out “Someone help! My sister’s hurt!” Lilac froze. “L….Luka?!”
(I think it's safe to say that Sef curses in Portuguese, but Lyn is too innocent to curse at all)
