"I guess it wouldn't be hard to carry him if we needed to go sooner…" Kas hummed thoughtfully. "I mean, he's really small, and it's the apocalypse. Probably doesn't weigh much."
Mori whined in reply, curling in on himself more. A minute or two later, he threw up again, shaking violently as he hugged his stomach.
Luka nodded. “True, I saw my sister Lilac carry him earlier,” he sighed. “Poor guy was shaken up from all the injuries…” he looked away, feeling bad for the kid. Lilac took a deep breath before opening the door. “Mori, I don’t want to intrude but maybe we should get you checked out by Rachel…you’ve been throwing up a lot…” she muttered as she slowly got closer to Mori.
"Mm. Apocalypse is definitely a lot for someone his age. I'm honestly surprised he's survived this long." Kas scoffed a bit. "How old is he, anyway?"
Mori shied away from Lilac, his eyes shining with tears. He looked very pale, and his hair was pretty disheveled. "H-Hurts…"
“I think, like, seven or so…?” Luka tried to rack his brain and remember Mori’s age. “Yeah, seven…” he nodded once he had it. Lilac brushed some of Mori’s hair out of his eyes, sighing softly. “I know…I know…I don’t know how to help though,” she choked out, feeling awful.
"I guess he's probably been traveling with people on and off. I can't imagine he'd survive all that long on his own. Not much of a fighter from what I can tell."
Mori hiccuped weakly and pulled himself into Lilac's lap, burying his face in her shoulder as he clung to her. "I want my head t-to not hurt…"
"Oh… oh jeez… I'm really sorry about that," Tohru whispered, "I-I'll do what I can to make sure you don't regret it- or at least regret it as little as possible."
He frowned a bit. The thought deeply saddened him as he imagined being in Levi's shoes. Not that he had blood family he wanted to try survival with, but still. It was basically picking between people you loved.
"So some of them lived, at least?" Tohru asked, "You can at least go on knowing that."
Lis giggled a bit at Maze's compliment, then got up from her spot on the porch.
"Yeah, I'd be down to make the trip. Do we have enough people in good condition to go, though?"
"Some of my family, yeah. Mori." Levi said, continuing to stare up at Tohru. "But I have no idea if any of my group did. And they'll probably think I died because I wasn't there." His hands started to shake. "But! I have you guys now! And I need to stay focused!" His voice broke as he talked.
(Levi said sad boy hours)
(Oh mood ;-;)
"Yeah… I bet it's hard not having that closure. What I went through- it was brutal- but at least… at least I wasn't left wondering. That must be tough," Tohru replied softly, "But yeah, you're right. You do have us now. And we're going to do everything we can to keep each other alive."
"I hope so. Even though my arm is completely ruined for the time being, I'd still go." She walked inside and went to the room with the most people. Maze could be outspoken and blunt at times, this was going to be one of those times. Being the daughter of a man in the military, she wasn't afraid to get a bit mean. "Hey, can I get everyone's attention!" Maze stood tall with confidence, arms crossed. She's young, yes, but you shouldn't look down on her.
Luka nodded. “Yeah…and we need to do what we can to protect him and each other,” he sighed, looking away. Lilac held him close. “I know kiddo…just sit there as I try to figure out how to help…” she whispered, running her fingers through Mori’s hair.
"Mm. I'm not… great with kids." Kas said awkwardly. "I haven't really been around them before. I'm probably gonna do something wrong."
Mori held tighter to Lilac, crying softly. "I'm s— s-scared…" He whispered weakly. "I-I don't… I don't wanna hold you guys back…"
“You’re not. You just need to get used to them,” Luka smiled, reassuringly as he set his hand on his shoulder. “Y-You’re not going to hold us back…” Lilac whispered, holding Mori close. “W-We’ll help you…w…we’ll help everyone,” her voice started to break.
Aspen sat in the corner, Arlo fluttering his wings in her cupped hands, he tweeted quietly, not used to seeing other people that weren't trying to eat him. I don't like this he seemed to tweet, Aspen shushed him "Im not used to it either, but it could be nice, being with others" she said to her bird quietly
Bean leaned her head against Aspen’s shoulder, smiling a little. “After everyone’s well enough to travel, we should be ready to go…” she looked up at the other girl. She couldn’t wait until everyone felt better…including Mori.
Aspen looked over to her and smiled, Arlo hopped from Aspen's hands to Beans shoulder.
"Why are you so nice to me?" Aspen asked Bean quietly, so no one else would hear "I mean- I didn't-" she stuttered
"what I mean is…I like that you're nice, makes me feel…I don't know…special? I haven't had contact with people my age in a long time, but I guess what i'm trying to say is… why do you do it, when you don't have to?" she said, her voice barely a whisper.
Kas shrugged a bit. "I dunno. Kids are weird. They're like people, but… less functional." He said stiffly. "I wasn't super… kiddie when I was little."
Mori didn't seem very reassured, just holding tighter to Lilac as he cried. He honestly just felt like he was becoming more and more of a burden as time went on.
(kids are weird. They're like people, but… less functional
why is that so true-)
(Sadly I'm going to have to drop out of this RP. I feel there just so many people and Maze isn't doing much. I just can't seem to get her into the story.)
(awh :( im sorry you feel that way! we'll miss you !)
(We can just say she left.)
(Awww….bye!)
“Why not?” Bean smiled, glad to be nice to Aspen. The other girl seemed like she could use people being nice to her and she figured it was fate that they met. “I’m nice to everyone who’s nice in return,” she told her. Luka sighed. “You weren’t?” he asked. Lilac held Mori close, brushing his hair with her fingers as she tried to calm him down.
A sound came from Aspen's throat, and she looked at Bean with a mixture of pain and love in her eyes, "I-" she managed before shutting her mouth, and wrapping her arms around the girls shoulders, and pulling her closer, so there wasn't an inch between them. Tears spilled from her eyes, and onto Beans shoulder, Arlo fluttered to the top of Aspen's head, and rested there. "Thank you, thank you, thank you ,thank you, thank you." She repeated to Bean.
