"Oh, you paint?" Delila asked, smiling. "And yes, that is one good thing. I don't have to worry about taking him for a walk."
Asher was quiet, smiling a little.
"Oh, you paint?" Delila asked, smiling. "And yes, that is one good thing. I don't have to worry about taking him for a walk."
Asher was quiet, smiling a little.
“I do paint. I love painting more than anything.” She smiled happily and played with Asher’s fingers for a little bit. “It’s relaxing.”
Delila smiled. "You'll have to show me some of these paintings." She replied. "If you're alright with that. My brother was a painter. An artist." She smiled again.
“Of course! I have a few at home. As soon as I finish my room I can set them up. You should come and visit one day!” Arabella smiled happily and looked to Asher. “Wouldn’t that be fun!?”
Asher smiled. "Yeah. You're welcome to come over anytime, Delila, just…keep in mind we won't always be home."
Delila smiled happily. "Alright then. I'll hold you two to that."
She smiled and nodded happily. “I’m glad. It would be amazing to get to know you better.” She hummed.
Delila smiled. "Mm." She looked around. "Tea? Coffee? Hot chocolate?" She offered.
Arabella bit her lip and shook her head. “Thank you but I’ll be alright.” She dipped her head respectfully and smiled politely, just like her father had taught her.
Delila nodded. "Alright. You let me know if you change your mind." she replied, petting the dog, Jake.
Asher smiled.
Arabella nodded, taking another look around the room, her eyes wide and excited. “How long have you lived here?”
"Thirty years?" Delila shrugged. "A long time. I remember this young man moving in." She gestured to Asher.
Arabella smiled at Asher and giggled lightly. “I hope he’s been a good neighbor.”
"Oh yes. He has. Doesn't visit enough, though." Delila chuckled, giving Asher a teasing look.
Asher chuckled. "Mm. My apologies, I'll try to visit more."
“I’ll make sure he comes and visits every now and then. I’ll come too when I can!” Arabella promised, tilting her head up at Asher. “He works too much.”
Delila nodded, then chuckled. "Alright. Yes, he does." She agreed. "But, what can be expected when his parents own and run the company? Of course they want the child to follow in their footsteps." She shrugged, petting the dog.
Asher nodded. He sighed, looking at Arabella. "Is that a hint?" He questioned.
Arabella nodded sadly at Delila’s words. “You’re right about that. I just wish he didn’t have to work so much.”
She looked up at him and pouted playfully. Arabella was more of a child than anything else. “Maybe it is.”
Delila nodded. "Well. That is a discussion for you to have with him, not me." She said with a smile.
Asher chuckled. "Mm. I see how it is." He replied.
Arabella nodded. “Yes, forgive me for bringing it up here.” She said softly.
Her eyes softened and she suddenly leaned up to press a quick kiss to Asher’s lips. “You should.”
Delila shrugged. "Oh, don't worry about it. You two ever have a big fight, either of you is welcome to come on over to talk it out if you need to." she said.
Asher kissed her back gently. "I know." he replied to Arabella. He looked at Delila, and nodded. "Alright, thank you."
Arabella smiled at Asher, then at Delila. “We will take you up on that offer. I hope we don’t fight too much or too badly. I want to love Asher.”
Delila nodded. "Alright. And I'm sure you will, sweetie." she replied. "Mr Asher doesn't seem that hard to love. Plus he's handsome, and that always helps." she smirked a little, chuckling.
Asher rolled his eyes at Delila, a small laugh leaving his throat.
Arabella laughed with Delila and lit up. “He is rather handsome. I was lucky, wasn’t I?” She crossed her legs and laughed softly.
Delila nodded. "Mm. Very much so. Of course, he's Fae, he can't really help it." she smirked at Asher.
Asher sighed, rolling his eyes goodnaturedly. "Thanks." he said with a laugh.
“Fae or not, he’s rather kind and attractive.” She said softly, smiling happily.
Delila snorted softly. "Oh, I know." she said with a shrug.
Asher raised his eyebrows. "Can you not talk about me in front of me?"
