(I'M TRYING SO HARD NOT TO LAUGH. CALLA IS SMARTER THAN SHE LOOKS)
The Malchai was trying hard not to blush, but the heat was already rising to his cheeks from embarrassment. For once he was glad Calla couldn't see. Sure Ori was uncharacteristically nice, but not to the point to where he considered liking him that much.
"Kid, no. No we don't. And 's not romantic."
"Stop denying it." she grinned, "You love each other."
Cal clenched his fists, frustrated that Calla wouldn't let the subject go.
"No we don't. Now please, can you stop saying that?"
(I can't wait for Ca1 to come back and make Ori tease Cal again lol)
"Only, if you come back with us." Calla said, a gleam in her white eyes as she stared at the space in front of the man.
"Fine, okay?" he asked. He wasn't quite sure why she wanted them back, but if Ronan got angry again, he could just be honest and say the kid convinced him to return.
"Yes!" she reached out for his hand, but couldn't find it and when she walked closer, she tripped over an exposed root, falling on her already scraped knees.
Ori had grinned at the child. aww come on calix, no kiss. It is clear that the Corsai is joking though.
Avi walked out of the shadows and helped her up, guiding her hand to Calixto’s. “I’m Avi,” she said after straightening up. “Nice to meet you.”
"Um, likewise," Calixto replied, sending a look at Ori.
“And, uh… Ori, was it?” She felt a wave of unease sweep over here. He had seemed nice enough, so far, but the thought of taking a Corsai back left a bad taste in her mouth. “It’s this way.” She started leading them through the woods back to the makeshift base.
Calixto felt a bit odd holding the young girl's hand, especially due to height differences, but didn't bring it up.
Calla smiled at him, "What's your name?"
(Him or Ori?)
(Him)
"Calixto," he replied simply.
"Hmm.." Calla thought of a good nickname. "Calibie!"
Lila finally spoke again, "Do you think this was supposed to happen? Like our little group meeting was preordained by the gods or whatever you believe."
She pulled up in front of the door and pushed it open. “And we are here.”
(omg)
Faye looked over at Lila, having been staring straight up at the sky. “Not sure. I mean, maybe it was possible because of destiny,” she suggested.
(I was expecting Cali or something but omg she's so innocent)
"Uh, yeah," he said, unused to nicknames. Cal walked in the building, holding the door open for both Calla and Ori to head in first.
"Well I'm glad it happened," Lila pulled her knees to her chest. She looked at Faye, "I've been alone for so long, it's nice to talk to people."
