Riverpaw hesitantly went to the mat, taking a few deep breaths. "It'll be fine, it'll be fine, don't panic."

(On the teacher's sheet, she would be called Evangeline. Just saying.)
Evie's stomach flipped Hyunwoo looked so intimidating. She looked nervously at Cicada for help.
(Well this teacher's sheet works by nicknames :)
That's what telepathy's for.)
(On the teacher's sheet, she would be called Evangeline. Just saying. I sorry, that's just me being picky.)
Evie's stomach flipped. Hyunwoo looked so intimidating. She looked nervously at Cicada for help.
Cicada gave her a quick reassuring smile. It was just warm up, no need to worry about doing something wrong. He would go easy on the first year, hopefully.
Evie was worried. What if she turned into Jocelyn? She couldn't. She wouldn't let herself. She tired taking deep breaths and pretending that everyone wasn't staring at her.

(Oof.)
"We'll start in," Coach Wilson began, stepping out of the dueling room. "Three." She pulled up a stool and crossed her legs, flipping a page on her clipboard. "Two." She looked up at the room expectantly as the crowd behind her riled up. "One." She wasn't normally one for dramatics, but eh, what the heck?
"Fight!"
(I gtg)
(oh no… bye sly)
Evie waited on her side of the mat. She'd never fought before, except one person, but that didn't mean that she couldn't right? She had to get advice from Jocelyn.
Cicada waited for her opponent to make the first move. She hadn't ever gone against him before and didn't know his ability.

(Bye o/)
(lol Riverpaw's a girl, @ShadeStar)
Riverpaw's first instinct was to shift into her wolf form and run, but she kept herself in place, watching Cicada's movements. "J-just wait, and dodge. I-if you can't run, dodge."
Hyunwoo made eye contact with Evie, not making a single move. He didn't shift, or twitch, or even blink, which you had to admit, took effort. Rule Number One of dueling, always make sure to psych your target out, and he took this rule to heart.
Evie matched his stare. Her heart pounded, but she didn't back down.
(Oh lol. Sorry.)
Cicada heard the girl mumbling to herself. She grinned, so she was scared. Using that to her advantage she summoned a ring of fire balls that floated around her and one that floated around River (I'm just going to call her River). She kept grinning as the ring got closer and closer to River.
(by all means, feel free, that's what most people call her)
Riverpaw's ears twitched and she took a deep breath, feeling the area around her getting warmer. "Fire. She has fire. CRAP. Fire's naturally stronger than nature!" Riverpaw closed her eyes tightly, then suddenly ducked down into her wolf form. Tiny or not, she could do some damage with this.
"Evie stand for something?" he asked nonchalantly. The casual tone of his voice seemed harmless, but there was subtle venom to it. "Evangeline? Evelyn? Eva? Evil Queen?"
"My name is Evie," she replied. Her game was mental. He couldn't psych her or no matter how hard he tried. He'd only get her more mad. And then… Hey hunny. Oh a fight! Let me do this! Come on!
(oh fuck…)
Cicada felt her grin to a smirk. she said in a very childish tone releasing her from the fire, "Aren't you a cute little puppy? Yes you are. Yes you are!"
She had her guard remain up along with her own ring of fire.
"I think I like Evil Queen more," he said. "Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Though I suppose you'd have to shorten it to Evie. Or Queenie. Whichever you prefer." Though he sounded friendly, there was nothing friendly about his powers, and he was planning for that.
(oh fuck…)
(Honestly a mood 24/7.)
Riverpaw narrowed her eyes as she held back an embarrassed whimper. "D-don't let her tease you."
(brb, gotta go do dishes. sorry ;-;)

"My name," she repeated firmly, "is Evie." She was ready.
Awe, hunny, let me at him. I'd give him a taste of his own medicine… calling us Evil Queen…
Shut up, Jocelyn.
She remained completely calm on the surface.

Cicada chuckled and continued to walk closer, "What are you going to do pup? Bite my ankles?"
Alex watched River and Cicada's duel very closely come on kid, fight her…
