"Killing tends to stop spells, especially tracking spells since then there's no one to do the tracking," Willow looked over to Max, who was walking beside her, "I could send Max after them."

"Oh! No need! I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but she gave me a key, said something about it being my prison. That's probably how they're tracking us." Masalee finds the key, but does not hand it over.
"Should probably get rid of it then," Willow looked at the key, seeing how Masalee holds it she suspects she doesn't want to throw it away.
"Yeah, probably." She makes no move to let go.
"Do you want me to do it? Or are you good to do it yourself?"
"I'm trying to let go, but I can't for some reason. Try and take it"
"Alright," Willow reached out, and tried to take it.
Easily, Willow took the key from Masalee. When she tried to drop it, she couldn't.
"Oh, you can't physically drop it, I see," she contemplateda few options, "what do you think would happen if i tried to eat it?"
"It's old and sharpish and sorta rusty. I can't see how that would end well. Here. What if Iā¦?" Masalee tried to grab the key from Willow with two sticks, but the key wouldn't budge.
"So it needs to be another human to take it? We could give it to some traveller going in the opisite direction," Willow suggested although she didn't really like the idea.
"They'd probably end up killed, and I'm trying to protect people nowadays. Could we find a magic person to undo the spell?"
"I wouldn't recommend that" an ethereal voice wound through Masalee's head.
Masalee turned pale, and too cheerfully said to Willow, "Time to move."
"You're only delaying the inevitable," Lark hummed.
Masalee's cheerfulness seems fake, Willow turns to face her only to notice her face, "Are you okay? You look really pale."
"Lark is talking to me." Lark said, "Oh, come on. Don't you have time to catch up with an old friend? Stay. It'll save us all a lot of time."
Cert walks up. "What's going on?"
"What, Masalee, are you okay?" Willow backed away slightly, nervous about what was happening.
"Huh? Yes, of course I'm fine, it's just that the person who talked in your head earlier, the person we are currently running from, is talking to me, so we'd better keep running and figure out this key situation later."
"What key situation?" Cert asked.
"I'll tell you later. Wait, do you have any enchantment-breaking magic?"
"No."
"Shame. Well then, time to move."
"Yeah, okay, sure, but-but won't they still be following us," Willow points out, panicking now.
"Yes. But if we move fast enough we'll have time to get rid of the key and move on before they catch up."
