(Sorry this is gonna be kinda long but I just want to catch up with you guys and introduce you to my character)
Jade ran her motorbike into the backyard. The gravel flew as she stopped outside what seemed to be an entrance. Not a very big entrance, though. It was just a normal sized wooden door. A guard was standing outside, and he gave her a weird glare as she got of the motorcycle. Jade brushed the dust off her military green cargo pants and adjusted her leather jacket. She didn’t really look fancy enough to meet a prince, but she looked like herself and that was enough.
”This isn’t the main entrance, is it?” She asked the guard. She pushed her sunglasses away from her eyes and took off her fingerless gloves.
”No, ma’am, it isn’t. Are you a contestant?” The guard looked at her outfit with doubt.
”Yeah, I guess I am.” She smiled a bit and nodded.
”Welcome, miss. This way.” He opened the door for her and pointed. ”You are supposed to go to the parlor. It’s just a few corridors away.”
”Thanks.” She pointed fingerguns at him and walked in the direction in which he had pointed.
Jade wasn’t sure if she wanted to be here or not. When she was younger, she had a crush on the prince. But that was before she joined the army. Nowadays she spent her time out in the woods, practicing shooting and other military stuff. The prince had visited her military base once. She knew he was kind of cute. When the info about the selection came she wasn’t sure if she wanted to give it a try or not. But… well, here she was. She took a deep breath and walked into the parlor.
(Nice character! Though I will say, she will probably not be allowed to wear her usual outfit when in the competition)
Talin continued his walk around the palace, sighing as he thought of the amount of choices he was going to have to make in the next few weeks - especially when it came time to choose who would rule alongside of him.
Meanwhile, the queen entered the parlor, a motherly but also regal smile on her face as she glanced around at the contestants. "Welcome ladies," She said, her voice light and happy, "Congratulations to all of you and the best of luck in this competition. I have a few things to go over before you will be shown to your rooms, all of which will go by quickly if you listen." Her attitude shifted slightly when she made her way to one of the couches in the room, motioning for the others to sit down as she did, from a motherly and happy queen to one who still looked motherly but also stern at the same time.
Jasmine muttered a string of curses as she slipped through the halls. She'd managed to find her way out of the gardens, finally, only to be told by a servant that she was supposed to be in the parlor ten minutes ago. Wow, way to screw up before even actually making an impression. This'll be a great one, for sure.
Zaera made her way over to the queen. She had seen the queen from a far from a few of the events she had attended, but never seen the queen up close.
"I'll answer any questions you have after I finish talking," She started, making sure to say it before anyone started asking questions. Clasping her hands in her lap over her long and flowy purple dress, she looked around the room again, "Now, how many of you already know the rules to the competition? Especially the ones applying to you young ladies." Her simple brown eyes flicked from person to person and she was sure to smile at all of them, acting like the queen everyone knew.
Jade kept her distance. She leaned against the back wall, her arms crossed. She didn’t want to be seen any more that she already had when she entered the room. The other girls had thrown weird looks at her when she came. Jade felt a lot like she probably didn’t fit in here.
But it didn’t bother her. She was here to see Talin, that’s all. She would try her very best to please the queen with her behavior as well while she was here, but she had a feeling that it would be hard for her. Only in her short time here she felt like she had already broken a couple of rules. Discipline was easy, but this kind of fancy stuff? Nah.
Aza kept her head down, hair falling and hiding her face behind a curtain of dark locks. She knew the rules, but wasn't about to recite them in front of everybody; they'd think she was a nerd. What she really wanted was to become a maid in the palace.
Jade took a look at the dark-haired girl a few meters away. She had a feeling that the chica was hiding something. Suddenly she felt something cold through the fabric against her leg. Jade froze. She had forgotten about her swiss army knife! It was in her pocket, and she had a stong feeling that weapons of any kind were not allowed in the castle. Especially not so close to the queen. Jade’s heart started pounding. If she got caught, she could forget all about ever meeting the prince. She would probably go to jail, and that was not even close to the future that she had planned for herself.
The queen nodded when the silence continued and she started talking again, "Alright, as long as all of you know the basics, I'm going to run through a few more instructions before you will be shown to your room. As you know, this is filmed, so please try to act as ladylike as possible, don't go off by yourselves after midnight, and no affairs with any guards, servants or anyone else in the palace, if you are caught you will immediately be removed from the selection."
Jasmine slipped into the parlor silently, mentally cursing herself when she caught sight of the queen, talking about the rules. Incredible, Jaz. Just…. incredible. She kept quiet, knowing apologizing would do more harm than good, and just hoped she wouldn't be noticed as she sidled up next to an intent Katelyn.
The queen's gaze did flick to the girl who just came in and she gave her the best disapproved look she could before turning back to address the whole group, "Any questions?"
Zaera had no questions. She knew what was expected of her, but that didn't mean she was going to follow through with it.
Jade had a lot of questions. But asking them would show exactly how little she had listened, so she kept her mouth shut and just shook her head at the question.
(Bump I wanna keep this going)
(I do too, though I don't know how many people are actually going to keep responding though, It seems to just be a few of us)
(Ya….maybe me and you could do a one-on-one with this idea? If you're up for it)
Sure! We could just keep this one going with just our two characters and then the others could join in when they feel like it?
(That could work, otherwise I can make a new thread and we can just use our characters on there and we can let this one sit to see if anyone else wants to continue on here, either works :) )
(I think it will be more interesting with other character joining occasionally, so I say we continue here, if that’s okay…)
(I mean I'm still here as well.)
((I'm still around, I just try to let others respond. That doesn't seem to be working all that well though…))
(Oh, okay. Should we go on like normal, then?)
(Yeah, it seems to just be us few, Shall we continue on then? The others can jump in whenever they want to)
