Nyx looked around the shop. "What am I supposed to get?" He asked Jude quietly, raising his eyebrows at him curiously.
Nyx looked around the shop. "What am I supposed to get?" He asked Jude quietly, raising his eyebrows at him curiously.
"Hm?" Jude said, looking up from a brightly coloured sneaker, loosely gesturing around them, "Anything you think looks cool. You can try 'em on, too."
Nyx blinked a little bit, then nodded. "But my feet look…weird. To other people. Because they're metal." he glanced down at the shoes he was currently wearing.
Jude bit his lip thoughtfully, looking at Nyx's feet for a moment before scanning the room, noting that there were only a few other shoppers. "We could say…they're prosthetics?" He quietly suggested, shrugging, "But…you don't have to try them on, if you don't want to. Just guess, and we can return them if they aren't right."
Nyx sighed quietly, and nodded. "Okay." He replied, shrugging his shoulders a little bit. "I guess we'll figure it out or something."
"Sure," Jude said with a nod, tucking away a stray lock of hair, "So what do you think about any of these?"
Nyx blinked. "Oh. Uhm…I don't know." He replied, biting his lip a little bit and looking around at the shoes.
"That okay–" Jude shrugged, smiling faintly as he touched the silver studs of a boot, "Just look around and find what you like or– we can go find another store."
Nyx nodded a little bit. "Okay." he replied, looking around the store and picking up shoes, then putting them back again.
Jude wandered around the store, his gaze drifting over the different designs and occasionally eyeing some noteworthy combat boots by some big label.
Nyx kept looking around, picking up a few pairs of shoes, holding them in his hands and feeling them carefully.
Jude gingerly touched a displayed pair of shiny brogues, looking up to smile at Nyx thoughtfully considering the shoes he'd picked up.
Nyx kept looking around, looking at the sizing and comparing it to his foot size, then setting shoes down and walking a bit more.
Jude browsed around the store, absentmindedly wandering over to the cashier and making small talk about the game he'd missed last night.
Nyx picked out a few pairs of shoes and tried them on, walking around a little bit and stomping a little to make sure that they worked.
Jude lightly chuckled at Nyx's curious stomping, walking over with his hands in his pockets. "What do you think?" He asked, looking down at the shoes Nyx was trying on.
Nyx shrugged a little bit. "They fit." he replied simply, looking at Jude. "Isn't that all that really matters?"
"Well, do you like them?" Jude prompted nodding at the pair, "–Like, how they look. That's important too, I guess. There are lots of other shoes in that size, but looks matter. It's your sense of style."
He blinked slightly, looking down at the shoes and shrugging. "I mean…I don't know." he replied, cocking his head a little bit. "I guess they're fine, yeah."
"But are you happy with them?" Jude asked, leaning on the wall beside a low mirror and looking at the shoes, "What made you choose to try them?"
"I…liked how they looked?" he replied, raising his eyebrows a little bit. He took a deep breath, taking the shoes off and putting them in the box again.
"Hm," Jude sounded, biting his lip for a moment, "I mean– you should get them if they fit and you like them. They'd be your shoes, so it'd be good to have ones that you like wearing."
He nodded a little bit. "Oh, okay." He replied slowly, blinking at Jude for a moment, then looking down at the shoes again. He cocked his head slightly, taking a deep breath.
Jude smiled, glancing at the shoes in the box and nodding, "No pressure. They're just shoes."
Nyx laughed a little bit, and kissed Jude's cheek. "I know. I'm just…I don't know. There's a lot." He replied, a little bit overwhelmed by everything.
