Jude quietly snickered to himself as he circled back to 5th Avenue, sighing as he looked past the traffic for any parking spots ahead. "Tell me if you see a spot, I can't take this much longer," He sighed, "Next time, we'll walk or take the subway or something."
"You're so mean." Nyx grumbled half-heartedly. He didn't mean it; of course he didn't. "And I don't see any spots."
“—And you’re adorable when you’re grumpy,” Jude said, looking over with a teasing smile. He turned back to the road, and just as he did, a car parked ahead slowly began to back out. “Oh— it’s a miracle,” He laughed, trying to understand how his friends had talked him into buying a car in the first place.
Nyx crossed his arms, looking for all the world like a pouting child. "You're making fun of me again." He complained, kicking his feet a little bit, pouting.
"No– I'm not," Jude said with a boyish smile, pointing up at the sun visor and its' little mirror, "I swear, if ya take a look at yourself, you'd see–"
Nyx grumbled again, shaking his head and keeping his arms crossed. "No. Meanie." He said childishly, still pouting.
"Aw come on," Jude laughed, pulling into the parking spot. He turned to face him, wearing a playfully apologetic expression, "I know I'm being annoying. –But I'm sorry…kind of. What do you want me to say?"
Nyx stuck his tongue out again, arms crossed and looking exactly like a sulky little child. He looked over at Jude, still pouting and grumpy.
(Exhibit A of why I love RPing Nyx lol)
"Nyx, what do you want me to say? I'll say it," Jude smiled cheekily, tilting his head to the side innocently as Nyx sat, practically grimacing, "Stop sulking, so I can buy you a pair of timbs or something."
Nyx made a face at Jude. "Wait, whats a timbs?" he asked curiously, bad mood suddenly cast aside as he looked over at Jude.
(Gtg soon sorry)
Jude smiled. "Shoes," He said, softly laughing at the sudden change of his expression, "They're boots. Everyone has them. It's a city thing. Even if you don't wear 'em, I gotta buy them for you; just cause."
Nyx squinted. "But that doesn't make sense. Why buy them if I don't wear them?" He questioned, looking at Jude.
"Nyx," Jude smiled, "These are the shoes. Basically everyone I know has them. I mean– we don't have to get them, but they're iconic."
He frowned. "But why?" He asked slowly. "I don't understand why?" He shook his head slightly, looking at Jude.
"Just– they're cool shoes," Jude smiled, waving his hand dismissively. "That guy's wearin' them," He said, pointing out the window at a random pedestrian crossing the street. Half of New York's wearin' them.
He shook his head a little bit. "But…but there's no point!" He said, frowning. "If I'm not going to wear them, then there's no point in getting them."
"Fine," Jude sighed, playfully rolling his eyes, "No timbs. We'll spend my father's money on something else. Are we good?"
Nyx thought for a moment, then nodded. "Okay." He replied with a smile. "We're good."
"'Kay then," Jude said with a nod, shutting the car off and smiling as he nodded at the street, "Let's get you some clothes?"
Nyx nodded, unbuckling and getting out of the car, taking a deep breath and looking over at Jude for a moment.
Jude climbed out of his car, sighing at the everyday tourist-traffic as he locked his car. "All good?" He asked Nyx with a smile, reminding himself that this was one of the busiest streets in the city.
Nyx nodded a little bit. "Good." he replied. "Now let's go." his crabbiness of a few minutes ago was gone, thankfully, replaced by his normal curious, happy mood.
"O-kay," Jude smiled, nodding his head at the shops along the street as he walked to his side, "We'll walk around, and go inside if anything catches your eye?"
Nyx nodded a little bit. "Okay." he replied with a bright little smile, looking up at Jude for a moment. He reached out and took Jude's hand.
Jude smiled faintly at Nyx's hand in his, moving along the long street of mini-attractions and tourists who didn't know how to properly 'walk.'
