"Uhm…" Nyx checked. "I don't know?" he replied slowly, glancing at Jude, then back at the computer screen. "All I know is that it's beautiful." he gave a quick smile, trying to contain his excitement and happiness.

"Oh yeah? Describe it to me then– paint me a word-picture." He joked, finally finding the right cord for the printer which would be doing most of the creating today. "Shouldn't be too hard to guess." Jude shrugged.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Alright." Nyx thought for a moment. "It's a woman. Dressed in blue and…gold, I think. There's a band across her forehead and over her hair, and there's…some sort of animal in her arms." he squinted. "I don't know what type of animal, though." he pursed his lips a little bit.

"Oh, yeah," Jude said slowly putting together the metal parts for the printer, "That's uh…Lady with an Ermine, yeah. Painted from around 1489-1490. The lady's name is Cecilia Gallerani, who was the mistress of Ludovico..something or other.. the Duke of Milan. Da Vinci was in the service of the Duke at the time it was painted. The animal, the ermine was a symbol of purity for him, in this painting." Jude said, popping a metal switch into place.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Oh." Nyx replied slowly, cocking his head slightly as he studied the painting. He clicked to view the next one, eyes alight as he looked at this. He wondered how many other artists there were like Da Vinci, and hoped that there were lots and lots more, because he wanted to see as much as he could.

Jude worked in pattern, multitasking, but making sure the parts were in place and fastened as he continued, unscrewing the input receiver, and replacing it with different materials. "What do you think?" Jude asked, referring to the artwork, "Neat, right?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

Nyx nodded quickly. He studied the other information. "He painted it during the…Italian Renaissance." he read slowly. "So were there other artists like him during this Renaissance?" he asked, glancing down at Jude, then back at the computer screen, his eyes examining and devouring the information and images.

"Ohh yeah, there was uh– Raphael, Michaelangelo, Gallileo, Titian, uh, Carravagio..a bunch." Jude nodded, remembering his art history course he'd taken regardless of his father's opposition. "Very nice paintings, yes." He unscrewed the backing for the heavy printer, titanium alloy, his old partner had bragged.
"There are lots of other art movements too, but you can look through renaissance for as long as you like."

(gtg to bed now. Good night!)

Nyx nodded slowly, looking at Jude. "Oh. They all have a little bit of strange names." he said, then shrugged. "But not that bad." he ran a hand through his hair, letting out a quiet sigh. He searched "Raphael", and started looking at those paintings.

"Yeah, not so much 'Julian Crowe,' and more 'Julianeous Croweion,'" He joked, "Always had to be so, extra. But Raphael– yeah, he's got nice works, the most famous one, I think is called The School of Athens, with philosophers from the classical world rather than any particular school of philosophy. Really nice composition." He shrugged, pulling the back off and studying the inside, packed with different cables and gears.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Nyx let out a small laugh at Jude's joke, smiling. He nodded a little. "Alright." he kept looking through the different artwork, occasionally searching a different artist that Jude had named earlier. He liked these, he very quickly discovered. He loved these images that had been painted by long-dead artists.

Jude worked across fro Nyx, screwing and unscrewing parts. Recentering cogs and gears to fit a new way, and altering the printers receiving arrangement. He occasionally glanced over at Nyx, eyes wide and close to the screen, studying the works of the old masters in admirance. "I'm nearly done setting up– what's your favourite so far?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

Nyx blinked, jumping a little as Jude spoke. "Hm? Oh. Uhm…" he thought for a moment, rubbing the back of his neck. "Michelangelo." he replied after a moment. "I like his…art style, I guess." he replied with a soft laugh. He ran another hand through his hair, letting out a quick breath.

Jude smiled, thinking about his trip during his sophomore year of college– visiting museums around Europe and seeing his works up close, and in person. "Oh yeah? The Creation of Adam is my favourite of his. The Sistine Chapel– and David Michelangelo's most famous sculpture– a lot of people believe that that would be a true figure of the 'perfect man,' along with Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man." Of course, Jude didn't quite agree with that. He reckoned perfection could only be experienced individually, and he'd seen perfect, and David didn't have his eyes.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Nyx thought for a moment, considering Jude's words. "While I suppose I would agree that David is attractive…I don't think he's my 'perfect man'." He said with a slight shrug, eyes still on the computer screen and not on Jude. Even though it had been Jude's face in his head while he was speaking. He was yet again very glad that he could no longer blush.

"..Your perfect man?" Jude chuckled; obvious that he had misunderstood, "What's your perfect man look like?" He asked, curious. As a man who hadn't seen much of the world, what would "perfect" look like? David– it seemed to Jude, would seem closest.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I don't know." Nyx replied with a faint shrug. "I haven't seen enough, I don't think. But I don't think that having a crush on a statue would benefit me very much, now would it? Considering it's a statue." he didn't look at Jude, not wanting Jude to see the truth in his eyes.

Deleted user

"Yes..you're right, I suppose," Jude said, stopping his work for a moment, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall. "But…I think it's more the idea of perfection that makes David so admired. He's strong– brooding, and sure. He is uncorrupted by war, hate, or ageing. He's frozen in the moment, in stone, I guess– an immortal reflection of art and humans throughout time…never changing how we see beauty; whether it's in individuals or works of art." Jude said, glancing at Nyx and thinking to himself, he's both.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Nyx blinked, thinking about Jude's words. "Hm. I suppose you're right about that." he replied softly, glancing at Jude for just a moment, before looking back at the computer screen again. He let out a breath, shaking his head for a moment.

Jude shrugged and went back to work. His little spews of world history, depth, and meaning had been so frequent, now that Nyx was in his life, and they had been miraculously eye-opening. Every time he communicated an Idea or story to Nyx, his life had begun to feel richer by the minute. Almost as if he, too was experiencing the same beauties of the world, again. The meaning of the river flowing is not that all things are changing so that we cannot encounter them twice, but that some things stay the same only by changing.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Nyx continued to look through different images, his blue eyes almost glowing with happiness and curiosity and excitement. He didn't know why Jude was helping him so much, why Jude was doing anything for him, but he was going to appreciate it as much as he could.

"Ookay-" Jude said, plugging in the printer and walking over to Nyx. "I just need to link some data with the printer's set up, and then it should be okay to work on its own." He didn't even want to think about the complexity of the 3D Printer's configuration. To recreate a real-feeling cover of waterproof artificial skin in a matter of hours was beyond any past comprehension of the century's advancements. It's some real whacky stuff.
