For some reason, Lata wasn't able to sleep that night. Staring up at the concrete ceiling, she sighed in frustration. Climbing out of bed, she decided to at least take a walk or something. Already anxious to see Nagai again, she fiddled around with the sleeves of the black hoodie as she absentmindedly went towards the outer sectors. After a while, she began to feel somewhat tired. Her mind grew a but fuzzy as she ended up beginning to walk back.
Her mind was registering objects as moving colors at this point. Browns, greys, dull reds even. Some people were even starting to surround something. What even was it…?
Blue.
A bright blue at that. Blinking a few times, she recognised a figure simply sleeping on the ground. Normally, Lata would pass by considering that some did sleep on the ground. But the cyan was immediately recognizable.
Nagai.
No longer caring about exhaustion, she sprinted over towards where the people were gathering. They didn't seem concerned about the girl on the ground, but instead the bag beside her. Trying to push through, an elbow jammed back hitting her in the abdomen. Wincing slightly, she became frustrated. Furrowing her brow, she cast an illusion to attempt and distract at least a portion of the crowd. It took a lot of energy, but the illusion was of a woman holding a basket of fresh produce. She controlled the false saleswoman to be walking in the distance.
As soon as a man had picked up the bag, he fell for the illusion. Taking a quick peek inside the bag and only seeing fabric, the crowd ran after the chance of extra, not to mention fresh rations.
Quickly, Lata tried shaking Nagai awake.
"Please… I need you to wake up," the young girl begged. Crying a bit, she continued pleading her friend awake. She had little time before she started to feel weak.
(Yes, I'm a mean writer too. I didn't wanna write this but forced myself to.)
I understand…//
Nagai furrowed her brow, waking up. She blinked the sleep out of her eyes and rubbed them, noticing a familiar face. Sleepily, she smiled and hugged Lata, still not fully awake.
(I KNOW THIS IS ANGST AND I LOVE IT BUT CAN I HAVE ORION GIVE THEM BOTH CUDDLES AND BLANKETS AND HOT CHOCOLATE AND MAKE THEM BREAKFAST BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT)
(I mean canonically, this connects to the original rp and Orion finds her later on and you know the rest)
(but for this rp, it's a bit different so…)
I understand…//
Nagai furrowed her brow, waking up. She blinked the sleep out of her eyes and rubbed them, noticing a familiar face. Sleepily, she smiled and hugged Lata, still not fully awake.
Lata wiggled out of the embrace quickly, taking her arm.
"Explain to me later, we need to get you away from here," she commanded, worry flooding her tone. If things went south, she would use up all of her energy and pass out. Hearing murmurs in the distance, the people were starting to catch on that the offer for food was a fake.
Nagai rubbed her eyes again, waking up a bit more. She nodded, still a bit groggy, and pulled herself up with Lata’s help. She grabbed the sack and started with Lata, wincing as she stepped on her injured foot, but not making it known to Lata yet. It might’ve been bad, but it could wait until they got to safety.
Oof, okie. I’m going to bed soon too :P//
Hello! How ya doin? I’m just gonna bump this up because I can~ :P//
Bumping this up again cause it makes me sad it’s on the second page~ (Don’t judge me please ;u;)//
(It's ok. Having a ton of work to do lately)
No problem! I completely understand! :)//

Quickly, Lata half dragged Nagai along, letting the illusion fall. Panting slightly as she ran, Lata made it to the one roomed "apartment" she and Nagai would now have to share. Funny how she had wanted that from "Ni" but ended up getting a worse reason with Nagai. Biting her lip, Lata crawled inside the window before turning and pulling the other up and through before there were any protests. After making sure the other was in one piece, the young girl fell back onto the floor with a loud sigh.
So much for getting sleep tonight.
Nagai sat near Lata. Her nose tingled a bit and Nagai sneezed into the crook of her arm. She winced, it had hurt her. Nagai had needed to sneeze before, but it hurt to do so. The sneeze had woken her up all the way. She looked at Lata, wondering how she would explain all this to her.
Nagai sat cross legged and set the bag in front of her. She coughed a few times, if her vocal chords could talk of their own free will, Nagai assumed they'd be pretty pissed.
Imma bump this up so we can bring sadness to more people~//
Lata frowned as she saw every wince from Nagai. She hated seeing a friend in so much pain. Standing, she paced slightly, not knowing what to do. She didn't have any pain medication for the soreness Nagai probably felt in her throat. Biting her lip, she took a quick glance over the older girl again, noticing the bleeding foot with glass still embedded in the flesh. Wincing herself, Lata began to panic a bit. She could get more cloth to bandage up Nagai's foot, but it probably wasn't clean which would cause infections…
Nagai bit her lip, Lata was worried because of her. Nagai felt horrible, bringing this kind of stress and worry on someone else. Nagai wanted to comfort her, but words weren’t an option, she also didn’t seem like she was in the mood for a hug. That’s when Nagai remembered her sack.
Nagai scooted over to Lata, not feeling like getting up and walking, and tugged on her clothes. She handed the pack to her and smiled.
(oof I'm back, just a sec)
