Kali made sure noel made it through the door before rushing over to Ignis grabbing his arm to stop him and then seeing the darkness of his arm. "Ignis your arm." She huffed, not letting go of it. She was trying to maybe absorb the access darkness.
Alister waited for Kali and Noel before they went to join the others.
“Gosh, you seem to hurt yourself a lot.” Alister remarked at Ignis’ black arm, a worried look on his face.
“Thanks, Mr. Obvious.” Noel said automatically.
He smacked her again, though he grinned. She winced, but an ironic giggle came out of her.
“Seriously though,” Alister’s worried look came back. “Are you okay?”
Ignis yanked his arm from Kali's grasp, "Stop. You can't help it. It's not demonic, it's spiritual. It's my demon."
"Alright I just thought I could help lessen the effects." She sighed, a bit of bite in her tone. She recoiled into herself just a smidge, shoving her hands in her pockets and looking away. "what even do you mean by your demon?"
Ignis smiled a little, "I believe you last saw it during my…unprofessional battle with Arcanis."
"oh that demon form, shadow form thing. It was actually pretty cool ya know. I wasn't lying about anything I said then. Even if you cant control it it's still cool." She looked into the sky, admiring it.
"Don't you mean our battle?" Sarcasm ofc, "fun times indeed.*
(Boi that' was a fun time*)
A look of confusion crossed the siblings’ faces, but they both seemed to remember that Kali and Ignis have been through some things.
“Huh, I don’t remember you telling us you fought Arcanis. Or that you turned into a demon.” Noel said.
“Well, you didn’t ask, did you?” her brother replied.
She sighed. “Nope.”
Evan just letting Alister pull him along not bothering trying to read lips, he was upset his powers still hadnt come back yet. But then again, if the water took away his powers and he drank it? He didn't see himself getting his powers back anytime soon.
Ignis quickly turned to Kali in surprise, "Actually I can! Or for the most part. I am doing this on purpose!" Ignis lifts his arm as the darkness leaves. He seemed really proud of himself, "It's really cool! Supernatural entities are quite remarkable! Once I can control demon, I will be the strongest."
His excitement was a bit of a shock to her but she still smiled a little bit at how he explained it, glad he was plagued by not being able to control it. She was happy that he was happy, she wished for a lot of things within that statement,
"They are indeed, i honestly didn't get how people didn't find it cool but they just normies." she joked half serious. she then glanced at him.
"Why would you want you entire arm, just your arm black with darkness?" she raised an eyebrow at him.
Ignis smiled and rubbed the back of his head, "I did say mostly. It's easier to control my arm than half. It's better to be safe than sorry." He glanced at Evan, Alister, and Noel, "For their safety."
“Ah, I guess you did,” Noel shrugged. Then her eyes lit up. “But dude, that is so cool. Why is the prospect of turning into a demon so appealing to me?”
“Why is the prospect of turning into a demon so terrifying to me?” Alister echoed. He couldn’t help but feel concerned for Ignis’ well being, wondering what would happen if he lost control somehow.
"Yeah i guess." she glances back in their direction eventually looking at an, his downward lance, sullen face. his being there brought up so many questions she wasn't prepared for. she hadn't really given i much thought about how they might be related. It could also be possible there was just a different family of ardens…she sighed, then hearing noel and looking up at her.
"I know right? I was thinking the same thing." i swear noel and kali just chilling being the i wonder what it feels like gang. "because your boring and soft idk alister." she shrugged at him.
("hE fELt CoNcErNed fOr iGniS's WeLL bEinG, alister honey. i hate to break it too yu it already happened.)
(Lol yeah he’s naive like that XD)
(I have to go but hopefully I can come back. Idk for sure tho)
(I have returned, ready to role play into the night 😙✌️)
He chuckled. “I think that’s the best insult I’ve heard aimed at me in a long time.”
In the back of his mind, however, he had a theory. After a few years thinking about it and a few trips to the therapist, Alister knew why he felt that way. He sought a lot of approval from his dad when he was young, and so was the most compliant, obedient, totally not a demon of the two siblings. To actually become something other than human was a terrifying concept because he would lose the one thing he fought so hard to get and/or be perceived as. Meanwhile, Noel grew resentful. She’d seemed to notice the toll getting approval took on her brother, and that she sought knowledge and understanding, not approval. So, she rebelled how she could, and the concept of becoming something other than human seems to be the ultimate form of rebellion to her, hence the appeal.
He didn’t say any of this though, instead turning to Evan, taking his hand and giving him an imploring look.
(Lol what do you know I’ve become a psychologist)
Ignis looked at the temple for a solid moment. He then sits down and smiles childishly, "I know you all have questions. Believe me, I do too. I am willing to answer any I can. I have put most of you in the dark for too long."
(im back lol sorrry i went to sleep)
Evan looked up at him with a soft smile, he squeezed his hand lightly even though he still couldn't hear much of anything.
Kali sat down next to Ignis, an eyebrow raised before glancing at the rest of them and waiting for there questions to start flowing in.
“Well it’s about time,” Noel said, her tiredness showing on her face again.
“I’m almost scared to ask questions, I don’t want to get personal.” Alister rubbed his neck shyly.
“Well, I’m too tired to ask questions. Can’t think of any that I can articulate.” She stretched out her arms with a soft groan. “Can you just… explain? Please?”
