Millie heard screaming out of no where and she looked around, "Uh, what was that?"
Millie heard screaming out of no where and she looked around, "Uh, what was that?"
"I know who he is very well, in fact I can see him." She looked slightly above his shoulder "I can see all of them," She opened her mouth to say something, when a fire tornado burst into the sky. "Now that's impressive,"
Scipio glanced at the version of himself behind him before looking over at the fire. he could feel his death whispering in his ears, and he got chills. His hair stood on end and a sense of fear seemed to have struck him. He stepped back and bumped into a tree, staring unblinking at the fire with terror. He shrunk against the tree trunk wordlessly.
Katy’s hands were covered in light burns from the flames the flicked off and towards her. The tears that fell evaporated the moment they left her eye. The fire grew taller, brighter, further out. While Katy grew tired, her breathing unsteady, the climb from this pit of fire to daunting.
Millie heard whispers too but she didn't bother turning around because she knew that she couldn't face her own death. Millie saw the huge fire tornado and she stared at it.
"How about we take a look," Death went to take a step but her feet wouldn't listen. It was like she had control of the rest but not the legs. "Come on Angel, your ruining all my fun!" It felt tingly before she got feeling back. Without looking back or saying a word she walked off closer to the flames.
Scipio slid down the tree trunk to the leaf strewn ground. The hands of death clutched at his throat so that he couldn't breathe, the fingers of fear twisted his stomach into a knot. His heartbeat reverberated through his aching skull as he gasped for breath and bit back tears. His own embodied death was forcing him to relive all his worst moments, and he was crumbling beneath the pressure.
Katy couldn’t look at the flame. She focused on the ground anything other than that. Cicada couldn’t control it. Not until her other half regave her control once again. Katy couldn’t feel anyhting other than utter terror. She hadn’t asked for this curse, this blessing in disguise. This thing that took the lives of everyone she held close to her.
Millie saw Scipio getting suffocated and she quickly rushes to him. As Millie was running to Scipio she felt something tapping her shoulder and heard whispers. Millie covered her ears and tried to ignore it. She knew it was her own death trying to make her remember the incident that made her separated from her family.
"These are some nice flames," The light danced across Death's face making her look an orange color due to the lack of color of Angel's skin. Her hair whipped in every direction, getting singed at the ends. It didn't matter to Death how Angel looked in the end, she wasn't the one who had to live with it. Sweat dripped down her forehead and she continued to wipe it away. "Hello, someone inside of there?"
Katy heard a voice beyond the flames. It… broke her. Her voice sounded young, childish even, “M-Mom? D-Dad? Is that you?”
The freezing cold aura of death seemed to envelop Scipio until he was trembling like a leaf against the tree, overcome with terror and memories of his past. He continued trying to draw in raspy, shallow breaths as tears rolled down his pale cheeks. He hid his face, unable to ignore the eerie whispers of his own death.
"Darling sorry to disappoint, but I'm neither your mom nor your dad." Death wanted to reach in and pull the girl out and see who was making such beautiful flames, but due to her being in a human body she was unable too. "But I am here to help, so how about you come out?"
"Poor little Millie…" the death said. "You can't keep up your little positive act anymore. I know that you're trying to hide the guilt…" Millie's eyes started watering and whispered to herself, "Shut up you little freak…"
"Leave me alone, leave me alone, leave me alone…!" Scipio said barely audibly to himself. They don't love you… You're just a freak that they never wanted. You've burdened them with your powers… you should have finished the job last time… "No! I'm not doing it again!" But it's so… easy, isn't it? To snuff yourself out? It's not like anyone would miss you, anyhow. You said it yourself, your parents are even pretending that you don't exist. The voice of death was louder than his own.
Alex wrapped her arms around Millie hugging her."Don't listen to them" she whispered.
Katy was shaking, the flames kept swirling, and the darkness grew closer. She curled up as the flames slowly started to die out, “Don’t wanna. I want Jade.”
"Jade?" Death thought for a moment was this a girl that was alive still or has she past on? "Tell me about Jade, I would love to hear about her," She sat in the green grass, or, well used to be green grass.
“Jade was kind and sweet. She loved plants. B-But I-I,” the sentence wasn’t finished. The flames disappeared into the sky and ash rained down on the red haired girl sleeping in the middle of its destruction.
Millie kept hearing the whispers until she heard Alex's soothing voice and the whispers went away. Millie turned to Alex with tears in her eyes and hugged her.
"Jade must have been a good friend?" Death didn't get any closer who knows what might happen and she wouldn't take the risk of losing Angel. She stared at the girl that laid in a patch of black and watch ash fall from the say. Death thought this destruction was quite beautiful.
Go on, Scipio… you know how to do it… kill yourself… Scipio sobbed silently into his arms, shaking violently. The voice of death was always in his mind somewhere, but it hadn't ever been quite this bad before. It was clearly audibly, louder than his own voice and giving away all his past endeavors. He began wondering whether he should give in for no other reason but to escape the incessant torment of his own life.
Katy, no Cicada, had regained her control. She felt drained, tired, she didn’t want to move at all. So she didn’t and let the darkness wash her away once again.
"I would ask if your dead, but I know your not," Death stood. It should by semi cool by now. "Hey," she walked over and bent down next to the girl. "That was really beautiful, thank you for showing me,"
After Millie hugged Alex she saw Scipio sobbing in the corner, she knew that his own death is tormenting him and she has to do something. Millie went to Scipio and hugged him, "Don't listen to it, whatever it's saying it's trying to make you feel bad."
