"My parents found out fairly soon after I did. I was just experimenting, and… well, they accidentally ended up seeing me transform and that was that." Scipio added more wispy clouds around the falcon.
"My parents found out fairly soon after I did. I was just experimenting, and… well, they accidentally ended up seeing me transform and that was that." Scipio added more wispy clouds around the falcon.
Cicada laughed slightly, "That doesn't sound too bad. At least the shock got over quickly."
Scipio shrugged. "My father's… well, let's just say he was none too happy that he had somehow 'produced a freak like that'." His pencil scratched on the paper, but his mind seemed elsewhere.
Cicada let out a long sigh as a small flame appeared in the palm of her hand, "No one should be called a freak."
"Well, I suppose it's fair enough… my parents are just ordinary people who disdain anything out of the ordinary. When they found out that their own son was… was different… they were ashamed. They sent me here immediately and, as far as I know, they are currently denying the fact that they ever had a son."
Cicada shook her head as she wondered aloud, "I wonder if my parents would do that. I know they accepted whoever and whatever. So maybe not. Then again, it's different when it's your kid."
Scipio fidgeted with his pencil. "I hope not. My father is not… a very pleasant man to be around. My mother is a bit better and tried to help me before I was sent here, but father didn't want me in the house. I would taint the family reputation or something…"
Cicada smiled over at him as she put the fire out, "Well just know I'm happy your here. Why? Because you need someone to tell you that."
Scipio looked up at Cicada, surprise evident in his eyes. He had never in 13 years of life been told truthfully that someone was happy that he existed. That he was important enough to want. Even before his parents discovered his powers, they were much too busy with other things to really attend to him much. He didn't respond to Cicada, quickly looking away and blinking stubborn tears from his eyes.
Cicada chuckled slightly from the surprise in his eyes. He clearly hadn't been told that before. She wondered what his home life was like. Was it one of scars? Ignorance? Abuse? She didn't know, and wasn't going to assume.
"Um… w-why are you happy I'm here? What have I done to make you feel that way?" Scipio glanced over at Cicada again, clearing his throat quietly.
Angel watched as the breeze went through the trees. With every passing minute she moved closer and as she moved closer she heard whispers but couldn't make out what they were saying. Were they spirits? Or maybe troubled ones. She needed someone who was a bit more of an expert with spirits. Angel could tell when someone is close to death but once they were dead was a different story.
"Interesting," Yuki began, absorbing as much information as he can. "Do you have to know the person's biggest fear before you bring them to life? Or does it just happen?" He knew he'd have to write this all down soon, but he didn't want to be walking and writing, knowing it'd develop into unreadable handwriting that he'd be unable to clean up later on. Instead, he relied on his memory to get this all down so he could take notes later.
"Um I think its just mental really." Zoe replied.
yall are doing great :D
(Shade? Are you theeeeeere?)
(Sorry got pulled away. Response in a moment.)
"Um… w-why are you happy I'm here? What have I done to make you feel that way?" Scipio glanced over at Cicada again, clearing his throat quietly.
Cicada gave him a big grin, "Well someone needs to say it."
"But… but… why?" Scipio said, his voice laced with struggle and inner conflict. He seemed unable to grasp the concept. "What about me makes you happy that I exist?"
Cicada walked over towards him slowly, "Can't someone just be happy for someone's else existence?"
"But it can't be that simple! It… it just cant!" He ran his fingers through his hair, holding his breath. "I've never been told that before, so I just need to know… why?" He finally managed to say, looking up at Cicada again.
Cicada's smile turned soft, "Because you looked like you needed to be told it. So you know you aren't a worthless be of crap because someone is glad your here."
Scipio's hands fell from his head. "But why do you care enough to tell me?" He asked barely audibly. "Do you need something from me? Why do you… why do you want to tell me, 'just because'?"
Cicada sat down next to him, "Foster homes haven't been kind to me. So I feel some sort of obligation to tell people who look like they need it. I don't want anything from you. If I did I would just steal it."
Cicada walked over towards him slowly, "Can't someone just be happy for someone's else existence?"
(I find this line extremely adorable. Sorry just wanted to tell you.)
(Lol thanks.)
