“True. If Ryker had recruited him first then we might have been screwed… possibly. But we don’t have to think about that, he’s with us and that’s a all that matters right now.” Tanrial sighed and looked back at Polla’s house.
(Thanks! Seeya, oh my school starts up again tomorrow so I won’t be on as much. Just letting you know ^^)
(Okay, thanks for the heads up ^^)
"Yep." Mike looked in the opposite direction, watching as the soldiers set up tents and fires in the shelter of their wagons. "They may be the most disciplined, professional group we work with, unless Tanrial's people are army trained. Dane can probably show us how to organize the villagers and the Pikes, if we need help with that."
"Pros and cons I guess." Tanrial shrugged and looked back towards Mike and Bernon, "We'll find out then, won't we?"
"Uh-huh." Bernon brought them to the tavern and tied up the boat. "Well….I think I'm gonna find a good place to practice making storms next. Who wants to join me?"
Tanrial shrugged, “Sure, only if you promise to not hit me with lightening, that would be appreciated.” She cracked a smile and hopped out the boat.
Bernon grinned. "I'll do my best."
Mike looked interested. "You think you can create a storm?"
"Well, maybe. I can control some of the ingredients of a storm, so I figure it's worth a try. I just need to make sure it's not too hard to control and won't drain all my energy at once. Wanna come with and see if I can do it?"
"Huh. Yeah, sure, I'd like to see that. But somebody should warn the soldiers and villagers about it first so they don't get hurt or alarmed." Mike turned and walked toward the cabin. "I'll do that and then catch up to you."
"Sounds like a good plan, see you soon," Tanrial gave Mike a small wave, "Now, we need to find a place where you won't alarm everybody… We could always head over towards Snatch and Fear, that should be far enough away."
"Okay, works for me. Maybe we'll get a chance to say hi to them while we're over there." Bernon shifted into a bear and started walking along the beach. I feel like running there. Wanna race?
Tanrial smiled and shifted herself. Last one there has to… convince Mike that they need a hug or something.
Oh jeez. It's on. Bernon gave a playful frolic and got ready to run. Finish line is at the edge of the other lake! Ready, set, go!
You're going down! Tanrial gave Bernon the best grin she could as she passed him but not by much.
I mean, probably, Bernon panted, doing his best to keep up. But don't underestimate me–ouch. He stubbed his toe on a branch and almost fell over, but managed to regain his footing and keep running. Okay, you know what, just try not to beat me too badly. I still have some pride left.
Tanrial chuckled, I cant wait to see what Mike does. She slowed down a little but just enough so that she was still winning but not by a lot.
Bernon managed to at least keep up the whole way, but once they reached the lake he gave a gasp and rolled to a halt, returning to human form. "Whew…..Maybe that wasn't the best idea? Now I have to try to make a storm while I'm already tired." He closed his eyes and rested his arm over them. "Oh well. That was fun."
Tamriel nodded and took a minute to calm her breathing, “Yeah, take a moment to get your energy up before you try anything. I don’t want to carry you back.”
(Okay)
(did you mean "energy?" I'm not sure what Englert means…..)
"Yeah." Bernon lay still for another second, then rose and started pacing to cool down. "I don't see Snatch or Fear anywhere. I wonder how they're doing."
(Yeah, sorry…)
“Me too, I hope they’re doing okay. I’m sure they are but I just can’t help but worry.” Tanrial sighed and stood up straight, “Right, you feeling any better?”
(lol you're fine, made me laugh)
"Yup." Bernon came to a halt and cracked his knuckles. "So….I guess I'm gonna start with the water and add lightning once I kinda figure out what I'm doing. Sorry in advance if I drench you."
(off to bed, seeya tomorrow ^^)
(Seeya, sorry I could be on much today)
Tanrial nodded, “It’s fine but try not to drench me. Maybe trying making it rain first? That might be a good starting place.”
"Okay. Here we go." Bernon rolled up his sleeves and faced the lake, closing his eyes in concentration for a minute. Then he raised his arms and began pulling up the small waves as they reached the shore, collecting a bit of spray and vapor each time. It swirled around him as a damp mist, trying to condense onto his clothes and hair, but he kept it at bay and forced it to rise higher, all the while adding more water from the lake. It was clearly more difficult to control the water when it was in such an insubstantial from, but Bernon refused to give up. Soon he had a sizeable cloud of cool vapor hovering over the trees that was gradually collecting more water from the air around it.
"Okay now," he said, his voice a bit strained. "I'm gonna start to let it fall. Fair warning if you want to take cover somewhere."
"Thanks for the warning." Tanrial quickly walked a fair distance away from Bernon and the cloud, stepping under a small piece of rock that jutted out from a larger one. She gave him a thumbs up, indicating for him to let the rain fall.
Bernon tried to release the cloud slowly, so that it didn't all fall down at once. The water sparkled in the evening sun, making a soft hissing noise as it fell. Bernon was quickly soaked, standing as he was in the middle of the downpour.
"Well that's a lot of work for not much effect," he remarked. "It would be nice if I could control the wind and make a tornado or something."
Tanrial shrugged and walked over to Bernon, “If only. But that was a good try, at least we know you can created a small rain cloud.”
