"Why?" She said, fingering the pebbles in her pocket.

"I…well I'm not sure." She tried to think back.

"Yah, sounds like you want to kidnap me." She said holding up her loaded slingshot.

Taking a deep breath, Laurel tapped Lloyd on the shoulder.

(It’s Floyd lol)

Floyd was about to wave back at Maddie when he felt the tap. He turned to face the woman and arched a brow. “Can I help you?”

Maddie saw a woman behind Floyd and quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him into her house, making sure to lock the door behind her. " Floyd don't trust her." She said anxiously

Vozalynn panicked, unsure what the slingshot could do to her. "Wait! Wait I can prove it…" She used her magic to conjure the necklace she was wearing that held all of her crystals. It popped off her neck and appeared in her hand.

"Conjuring magic. Most everyone in Dryadalum has magic, except for the Talentless." Vozlaynn scrunched up her nose. (elves are taught at a young age to treat the Talentless poorly)

“Maddie, hold on, I don’t want to be rude,” Floyd said quickly, tugging his arm away. “Come with you?”

" Ok, well I might of seen her brother or something but, he tried to grab me.( OK sorry but I am an impatient women.)." She lifted up her sleeve to show the bruise he had left on her arm.

Laurel’s eyes flicked to the girl, who must be ‘Maddie’. She would have to cast a small illusion. Her eyes flashing white for a split second, she made it look to anyone but her and Floyd that there was no one but Maddie in the area. Then, clearing her throat, she took out a crystal.

"Who are they? And why do you need to take me to this Dryadalum place?"

"The Talentless are elves without abilities." Vozalynn paused, putting her necklace back on. "I'm not sure why I need to take you, but someone I trust said I should. Some other people I know are finding other humans like you."

Floyd spun around when anyone around him vanished. Normally, someone would have been terrified, but he was more astounded. “How did you do that?” He exclaimed.

"Wait, you're not human? Why do you need humans?" She said, not entirely sure she believed the diminutive being. "You've got magic. What is so terrible that you need me?"

Vozalynn was getting frustrated. "Listen, I don't know why you need to come to Dryadalum. I don't know why Birah wants humans. And no, I'm not human. I'm elven."

Maddie exclaimed " See I told you!" She looked at Floyd with panicked eyes. "I-I think they're trying to take me and you!" She looked around to see where the women could have gone.

She can’t see Laurel or Floyd

She sighed. “You can’t see anyone and no one can see you now. I’m an elf, and I need you to come with me.”

Wren frowned. "Well, go ask this Birah dude why then. I can wait."

She groaned. "I'm not staying here in the Lost Cities longer than I have to, and I'm not returning empty handed."

Maddie panicked about where her friend had gone. "Floyd , FLOYD." However he was nowhere to be seen. "FLoyd where did you go, please answer." SHe was close to tears at the thought of losing her friend

"Well, I'm not going anywhere with out my parents' permission. You could go talk to my mom if you want. She might believe you. She still believes in fairies. And what do you mean by 'Lost Cities'?"
