“It’s fine.” Farron replied but subtly rolled his eyes. They came to a small house and Farron opened the door, holding it open for Mara as well.
“It’s fine.” Farron replied but subtly rolled his eyes. They came to a small house and Farron opened the door, holding it open for Mara as well.
"Stay Riven." She walked inside and thanked him for holding the door. "Your home is very nice." She looked around. It gave of a cozy vibe. Riven laid down on the grass outside. He wanted Mara to come back out soon.
“The bathing room is back there and I’m sure there’s some spare clothes in there as well.” Farron said, waving idly to the room.
"Okay." She walked back started to clean herself off. Farron seemed a bit different from earlier. All she want to do was clean herself off and leave so she didn't bother him anymore, because she obviously did something to make him upset. She didn't even bother putting on new clothes since she'll be leaving. "Done." Walked out, stood in front of him and bowed showing her gratitude. "I'll be showing myself out."
“Where are you going to go? You don’t know this place, you don’t know what Riven is really like as you’ve only just met and your other… village is trying to find you.” Farron crossed his arms.
"I don't know." She shrugged. "I figured I'd wander around and see if I can find a place." Mara looked at the ground. It felt like she was being lectured by a parent. "Anyway, it's clear you don't want me around. So.." Sure it may be a bad Idea to go out when she doesn't know the place with a dragon she only met, but it's better then being somewhere, where a person doesn't like you.
“I never said I didn’t like you, I’m sorry if you got that impression, Ysethen tells me I should smile more but…” He shrugged, “It’s just my personality.”
"Well, he's not wrong." She smiled, and put her hand on her hip. "Pft." She was trying hard not to laugh, afraid it would make him mad for real. She has never met someone who looked so serious all the time and had his personality. It was new, she didn't hate it, it was just interesting.
Farron frowned a little, “Don’t agree with him, then he’ll like you more then me.” He said, raising an eyebrow, “Well, you can stay here of you want, I guess. Since you don’t know anyone else.”
"Well thank you." Mara took her hair and put it into two braids. It was extremely long and always got in the way. "This will be the only time I will agree with him. Smiling is good for you." She looked around seeing if there was anywhere else besides next to Farron to sit. Since she was still a bit embarrassed.
“No it’s not.” Farron said, shrugging one shoulder
Mara frowned. Why does he hate smiling so much? "Okay, yep, you're right smiling is bad for you." She fiddled with her fingers. She moved over to the couch and sat down. Her legs were getting tired. "So, what do you usually do around here?"
Quincy hopped atop Jade's back. She rubbed a hand along Jade's scales, "Ready to go?"
Is that a valid question? Jade snorted as her wings sprang out.
Quincy laughed as she felt Jade start to fly above the ground, "No, I s'pose it's not."
“I work mostly or read. What did you do in your old village? Or more importantly, why did they want to sacrifice you?” He asked, his eyes narrowing at Mara.
They believe that if they scrafice 'the chosen one' or whatever that they would have good crops and heathy births, stuff like that." She rolled her eyes think about it. "Everyone in my village has dark skin and black hair, but once in a while a child like me, the complete opposite is born. Anyone born like me can talk to dragons and the take that as a sign of being good luck." That's why she will keep running for as long as it takes, she was not to be sacrificed for them.
“That’s… strange.” Was all Farron was able to say.
"Yeah, I though so as well. And so I ran away, and that's when I met Riven." She laid her head on the back of the couch. "So you just read all day? You don't go out and walk, fly or anything?"
(Woooo guess who forgot to do a general chem lab report because the professor mentioned it once in passing and the information is all hidden in the syllabus somewhere)
“I fly and work, not just read.” Farron explained, “Why don’t we go out and see if you and Riven can bond more? Gives us something to do.”
(Damn, lucky you)
"How do you know if you've officially bonded with a dragon?" She followed him out. As soon as Riven saw Mara he perked up. "Alright mr. Its time for you to listen to me."
(Sorry I'm watching a movie so it might take me a while to answer.)
(Good for you. Lol. This is the school year I will have to go try hard, 4 AP classes (At least two that aren't push over AP courses), and 2 honors courses.)
(I tried 4 APs once. If you can handle that load, that's amazing. I ended up dropping one that year because it was not a good time (AP physics, and I'm not very good with that stuff). But yeah, college is really weird. I have to actually manage all this time I have. I've been napping in my free time because I'm basically just a cat. Ummm I also only have 3 real classes- the other two are pass-fail classes that don't count towards GPA- but I'm taking both calculus and chemistry, so life is pain.)
(I should be fine…. It’s nothing I’m not used too, just more advanced and shtuff.)
(Yeah. I went to a really competitive school, so it might be entirely different for you, and honestly I'm jealous. AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and a couple of other classes destroyed my confidence. But half of it is the teacher/environment. Idk. I just wish I could've learned in an environment where failure wasn't the end of the world. I want to learn in peace. Hoping college will change that a little.)
