(I'M BACK FINALLY. YAY!)
(YAY)
(Now I just have to figure out how to respond… Lol.)
(xD good luck!)
Noticing Kenzie’s lack of response, Hunter pulled away. What had he been thinking? Of course she wouldn’t want a kiss! Not after her mother’s death.
“We should eat,” he finally murmured. “Better get something in your stomach.”
Kenzie merely nodded in response, unable to find any words to say and not trusting her voice at the moment. She let Hunter lead her back to the table, where she sat down and stared at her food.
How could she possibly eat at a time like this? She didn't even feel hungry, just… devastated.

(Lol. Yeah, he sucks.)
"Kenzie, you have to eat," Hunter said, a little more sternly than he wanted to. "I understand that you're devastated. You should be. But that doesn't mean you stop eating. A few bites are enough, too. At least eat something."

(Omgosh, same!)
"Kenzie, you have to eat," Hunter said, a little more sternly than he wanted to. "I understand that you're devastated. You should be. But that doesn't mean you stop eating. A few bites are enough, too. At least eat something."
Kenzie's head snapped up as Hunter's voice dragged her out of her thoughts. She glanced down at her untouched food, then back up at her boyfriend. He looked concerned. She didn't want to worry him, he didn't need that. Maybe she would ask him to take her home when they were finished eating. That way she wouldn't bother him with her problems.
She sighed, then bit her lip and nodded, picking up her fork.
"After we finish eating, there's a place I want to take you," Hunter said as he took a bite.
"Oh… Okay… I was, um, going to ask if you would take me back to my place, but that– that works, too," Kenzie stuttered quietly, keeping her eyes on her food. Surprisingly, she had actually almost finished it all.
"Not letting you off on your own," Hunter replied, taking a gulp of water. "I'm not stupid. I know you think you're bothering me. I can see that. It's written all over your face."
Kenzie's cheeks grew hot, and she continued to stare down at her nearly-empty plate. Hunter seemed to always know what she was thinking, and right now she wasn't sure whether she was grateful for that or not.
"You're sure?" she asked softly, finally looking up at him.
(I have to go in about 10 minutes, and then I'll be gone for a few hours. I'll be back either later today, though, or tomorrow morning.)
"Of course I'm sure, you dolt," Hunter glared at her. "You're my girlfriend. I care about you. I love you, for God's sake. Why do you think I'll leave you alone when you need me?"
(Ah, it's okay. I'm at school anyway.)
"I just– I just feel like I'm being a burden. Like, last night was fun, but then I got that stupid call and now I'm just having a pity party. I mean, seriously. Your mom died, too, and all I'm thinking about is myself," Kenzie replied. When she'd finished speaking, she bit her lip and looked away.
"You have the right to," Hunter said with a glare. "My mother died eight years ago. I had eight years to get over it and move on. Your mother died yesterday. It's fresh. It's new. I'd be surprised if you weren't like this."
(Okay, I'm back.)
"I'm sorry," Kenzie whispered, still not facing Hunter. "I shouldn't have brought that up." She glanced up, finally, and looked him in the eye. "I don't want to be sad, though, but I just… I don't know… I can't stop thinking about her…" As she trailed off, her eyes drifted downwards so that she was once again staring at her plate. Tears welled in her eyes, making everything blurry.

Hunter sighed.
"It's only natural," he said. "You lost your mother. Your mother. No one would be happy if they were in your shoes. Mourn for her, but not for too long. You need to keep on moving. Not just for yourself, but for your mother as well. For your fathers. For me."
