Matthew groaned.
It'll be a while Jasmine
He wondered if he sounded too passive aggressive.
Matthew groaned.
It'll be a while Jasmine
He wondered if he sounded too passive aggressive.
"Ik." Jasmine sighed. "As long as you come back eventually."
Leah nodded. "That's interesting."
Luna sat there in the hot tub as Matthew texted. She knew it was none of her buisness, so she didn't look at his phone.
He shrugged loosely. “What classes do you take? And what days do you have free?”
"God, sorry Luna… Just my Psycho Ex. I hope you don't mind."
(lol Psycho Ex. They haven't even broken up yet be he already knows she's psycho)
"It's ok, I don't mind." Luna said smiling at Matthew.
He shrugged loosely. “What classes do you take? And what days do you have free?”
(…………Idk how to answer this? Lemme try)
Leah put down her coffee. "Thursdays and Tuesdays are my days off. I take well……..journalism."
(cringes that was bad I know)
(It was fine Nat!)
“I have Thursday’s and Monday’s off, maybe we can get together one Thursday!”
(Okay I'm bored so here's this………)
Leah picked up her phone as it started ringing. "Hey Ronnie what's up?" She was silent for a moment. Then her face darkened and she frowned, curling her hand into a fist. "I'll be right there. Pack an overnight bag, you're going to spend the night at my apartment, okay? Love you." Leah stood up and put her phone in her pocket, then started packing up her things. "As much as I would love to keep talking to you Rafael, I have to go rescue my sister and take her to the hospital." She said with a frown.
"I would love that by the way." She said, answering Rafael.
“Great then! Is—is your sister okay??”
"I'm not sure, we'll have to see." Leah made a face. She slung her backpack over her shoulder. "If you want, I'll kind of need a driver so that I can focus on Veronica. But I don't want to bother you."
“Of course! I’d be happy to, your car or mine?” He pushed himself up, gatheringbhis things.
"Does my car work?"
“For sure, lead the way.” His brow was furrowed with concern and his eyes shadowed with worry.
Leah led him to a silver sedan. It looked like it had only been bought yesterday, but if fact Leah had had it for three years. She jumped in the driver's seat. "Come on, we'd better hurry."
Rafael slid in next to her and buckled his seatbelt quickly.
Leah took a deep breath and her knuckles turned white as she held onto the steering wheel, diving as fast as she could at the speed limit. "I wish I could say this was the first time I've had to do this."
“What—how come you have to do this? Is she sick? That was incredibly intrusive of me, ignore that if you don’t want to answer.”
"No, it's fine. My parents…….well after………" She swallowed. " after my older brother died in a car crash a few years ago…..well they haven't stopped arguing. My dad started drinking and sometimes when he gets really drunk he hits Ronnie and I. I escaped it when I got into college and bought an apartment, but I haven't been able to take Ronnie out of our house yet. I'm working on it. " Leah said softly, keeping her eyes on the road.
Rafael fell silent for a minute, struggling with this information, the information that sounded all too familiar, not like his past, but like his father’s. “I’m sorry.”, GE said finally. “Isn’t that illegal? Wouldn’t— couldn’t you call the police?”
"I've tried." She sighed. " but no one believes me. My dad is a part of the police force. They don't think that my dad is capable of something like that. And he wasn't. Not until the crash. After that….well you know what happened after that. "
“Oh.”, he said quietly. “I’m sorry. Is there anything I can do to help?”
