“No you’re not.” Ruby sighed, rubbing her temples.
“No you’re not.” Ruby sighed, rubbing her temples.
Aidan huffed, crossing his arms. "Shut up. You're not my mom."
“Tsk, still. You’re in no condition to be walking!”
He scrunched up his nose at her, but didn't deny it this time. "Fine." Aidan pouted. "I'm not going back to the hospital though."
“I know, I know.” Ruby sighed, “Was there a wheelchair in your room?”
He shrugged. "I don't…I…dunno." Aidan yawned.
“… well being a pyrokinetic isnt helpful in this situation…” Ruby sighed, ruffling her hair.
"Wait a…hold on." Aidan remembered the wheelchair he had seen in the nearly empty hallway. Using most of the energy he had left, he conjured the wheelchair. It appeared in front of him, and Aidan immediately sat in it and passed out.
“Ah.” Ruby sighed, “Whelp, time to steal a patient.” And she pushed the wheelchair.
Even though he had passed out, Aidan could still feel the terrible pain in his side. Luckily, the doctors had patched him up and taken out the bullet already.
(A little bit of what's happening to Sam right now!)
Sam’s eyes widened in terror as the wall of fire came closer as they felt the raging heat against their skin… then it disappeared, leaving a sight far, far worse. "What. Did. I. Say?" Jasper growled, raising his hand, and they instinctively flinched. “You always have to ruin anything of mine, don’t you?”
“Jas-” Sam started, when a heavy hit made them go sprawling.
“No. Sam, we’re done. You’re dead to me,” Jasper said coldly, snapping his fingers. Instead of a short girl in high heels and a lab coat, a person with short dark hair and a defiant jut to their jaw crouched against the wall, holding their cheek gingerly. “I’m heading back to base and tell them how you wrecked years’ worth of work singlehandedly. Of course, only you can do that,” he laughed wryly. Sam had fallen in love with that laugh when they first heard it, but now…
“Jas- I… I’m sorry, okay! God!” Sam said, trying to keep up a steel exterior. Trying to ignore the burning sensation in their eyes. If they blinked, tears would fall, and Samine Samudrala did not cry. Would not cry.
“Save it for the Council. You’re banished,” Jasper said, stepping into the portal. “You were only here because I requested it. Not because you’re good at your job. No, it was out of the idiocy of my heart… Goodbye, Samine,”
When he disappeared, Sam finally allowed themselves to crumple against the wall, dead inside.
Ruby escaped the hospital with Aidan still in one piece… somehow. “They have terrible security.” Ruby muttered, walking away pushing the wheelchair.
(I would respond but honestly Aidan is an unconscious mess right now so……)
(Yeeep. I guess Ruby should look for … Sam.)
(I have an idea- Maybe she finds Sam while looking for Emma and has no idea who they are. Sam and the group become friends, until Sam finds an opportunity to betray them to the Illeyitome. But like in Steven Universe, when the time comes, they can't do it and turn on the Illeyitome instead)
(That’s genius.)
(Sorry, I got tied up.)
Zack hung up. Ruby seemed to be busy, which was fine. He found the formula for the magic enhancing "potion" that he'd been working on. His chem teacher had secretly encouraged him to give it a shot, and see if it worked. It was technically illegal, but really, Zack had done worse things. Stealing was a favorite.
Now was as good a time as any to put it through a stress test.
Gathering his notes, he ran towards the chem room, cloaked.
“Where the flip is Emma?” Ruby muttered under her breath, she was a little stressed, anxious, and upset. Emma was a liar. Little sparks of fire flew off of her, that usually happen enwhn she got upset.
Zack froze as he entered the room. There was his chemistry teacher, working on the project for next class. After a small debate with himself, he knocked on the door and and waved, "Heya. I don't suppose you have an open station?"
(If you don’t like what I did with the teacher, I’ll change it.)
Ms. Hawkins looked over at Zack, “Oh, of course I do. Why are you here? It’s the weekends.”
“Emma~ Emmmaaa.” Ruby said in a sing song voice under her breath, scanning the locations. She paused and tried to brain storm possible locations of where Emma might be.
In response, Zack held up the notes she had shown her over a thousand times. They were neat and concise, clearly stating the formula and procedure for a mix.
"I'm ready to give it a go. It might actually come in handy soon enough, considering all the fights and such. I hear there was even a terrorist attack."
“There was a…?” Ms. Hawkins furrowed her eyebrows, “Well I hope you know what you’re getting yourself into. I’ll get the ingredients, you too.”
"Of course, ma'am…" he paused, thinking back, and then piped up, "Perhaps we should flip that gold with copper. Better Ether conductor?"
“Hmm, you have a point. Maybe that’s why it didn’t work for the last person that tried.” Ms. Hawkins nodded.
“When will he wake up?” Ruby grumbled, looking at Aidan.
She looked over at some woods. “I have a big urge to set them on fire to see if Emma is in there-“ she put her hands up in surrender, “-but I won’t do that.”
As if on cue, Aidan groaned, but he didn't open his eyes. He was half-conscious and could hear everything Ruby was saying while he tried to remember the previous events that had happened. There was…Zavoem people. Some guns… Aidan grimaced as a jolt of pain surged through his side. Oh right, that.
